What you seek, you shall never find. For when the Gods made man, They kept immortality for themselves. Fill your belly. Day and night make merry, Let Days be full of joy. Love the child that holds your hand. Let your wife delight in your embrace. For these alone are the concerns of men. It was night in the dark, enigmatic heart of the Havenstorm Forest. The birds had all but gone to rest, save for the occasional hooting of owls perching like vultures in the trees. The mice and rodents scurried about as silently as possible, avoiding the steely gaze of midnight predators, their whiskers and noses twitching nervously upwards as the wind passed softly over their heads. No thundering feet of men or horses crushed the swaying grass or the squeaking rattles of carriages dared break the timid stillness. Nature seemed at peace here, untouched by war, unscarred by fire and axe and men. But beneath this, underneath the owls in the trees, lower still than darting vermin and even lower still than warm, swaying grass, nestled in the dirt and bones of trees and rocks, the ghosts of dead men did stir. Underneath this shade of leaves, in a small clearing, a few silvery strands of moonlight darted in through spaces in the leaves, illuminating a solitary male figure. “These men, these elves of warm flesh and unspoiled blood.” The man laughed softly to himself, moving his hands in the air over the ground, as if running his fingers over the ancient bones beneath his feet. In the tips of his fingers, a flickering blue light glowed eagerly as they sampled the dead below. “These bones, these vengeful spirits of mossy stone and dust.” The man laughed a little harder this time as his hands glowed brighter. The fiery blue essence illuminated his face, revealing little but his sharpened teeth. His eyes and body were covered by a veiling hood and robe, ornate and antiquated; priestly, but ominous. ![]() “My empire, my damned friends and lovers, execrated kings and paupers. You who for so long slept silently!” The fire in his hands now engulfed them from the outside, running up his arms. The ground beneath his feet suddenly began to stir. The wind ran from his voice, rushing through the trees to escape. “I have returned to you, to bring you back to your stolen throne! The dead weep in darkness, for you no longer let them breathe! The Kingdom cries, for without you men and elves corrupt your people! And the Ark…it suffers most of all without you!” His voice began to echo, billowing through the trees and penetrating the soft night air like cannon fire. The ground began to shake, the sound of shifting dirt billowing like an earthquake. The birds and the vermin no longer hid themselves, escaping in a screeching din of fear and dread. “My empire, Deldassa Veloth stands before you, in original flesh and untainted power, rise once more and stand beside your Great King! The Necrotide…WILL…RISE AGAIN!” His roar, his beckoning, rang like a war trumpet, the blue flame, now wholly black, devouring his entire body. The ground around him churned like an ocean of dirt, shaking trees from their roots and expanding the clearing around him, allowing the moon to reveal the scene. There, standing in the center of it all was the Lord of the Necrotide, Deldassa Veloth. Around him, geysers of flame were bursting their way from the earth followed close behind by blackened fingernails and boney wrists. The skulls of the dead and the damned stretched their necks into the air, wailing and shrieking into the night. Their priestly savior, clad in robes and flame cackled menacingly before them. Florencia’s oldest enemy had returned. “And Castle Skydragon will be the first to fall.” He hissed. |

“My empire, my damned friends and lovers, execrated kings and paupers. You who for so long slept silently!" The woods were dark, deep, and up until a few minutes ago, quiet. Chizu took in a slow breath and tried to ignore the feeling of revulsion that ran over her at the sudden sounds that were coming from the forest clearing. She had just been here some time ago on an Arcadia mission. This time, she had only come to look around a little for anything that had to do with the Heartless or that necromancer they were dealing with, and got sucked into this. She was sitting in a tree, hidden in the foliage as she tried to see what was going on in the clearing. She was too far away to see much, but she could still hear him, and from what she heard, this didn't sound too good. Her clothes changed into her Arcadia uniform as she crouched there, her eyes closed as she tried to focus on the wind currents and get information about her surroundings from them. “My empire, Deldassa Veloth stands before you, in original flesh and untainted power, rise once more and stand beside your Great King! The Necrotide…WILL…RISE AGAIN!” God...why don't these megalomaniacs ever shut up? Because the truth is, they want someone to hear them... Whatever. Chizu took a deep breath, her hands clutching tightly to the tree branch below her as unearthly screams filled the air. She closed her eyes again, attempting to send a message to any Arcadia members that could listen. "Arcadia. It's Chizu. We've got trouble in Florencia, in Havenstorm Forest. Better say you're here when you get here. It's dark out, you might be missed." She had been giving the call a lot lately. Probably because she tended to get stuck in the middle of things. But attacking on her own would be stupid. In the meantime, she'd have to sit tight and wait for the rest of them to show up. |

"Meow!" Jen mimicked the mewling of a kitten as she poked her head through the Cross Gate leading out of Niwa and into Florencia. The first thing she noticed were trees... lots and lots of trees. So, where could they be? This was when she decided to bring the rest of herself through the Cross Gate, the soles of her sneakers leaving the concrete pavements of Niwa and onto the soft grass of Florencia. "Ooooh... I bet there must be lots of herbs and flowers I can gather for Yang's stall!" the purple-haired girl exclaimed to herself as she looked around. “My empire, my damned friends and lovers, execrated kings and paupers. You who for so long slept silently!” A deep and menacing voice boomed through the forest. "What!?" Jen exclaimed, putting a hand to her right ear to listen for the source of the voice, tracing the direction from whence it came. “I have returned to you, to bring you back to your stolen throne! The dead weep in darkness, for you no longer let them breathe! The Kingdom cries, for without you men and elves corrupt your people! And the Ark…it suffers most of all without you!” The voice boomed again, and this time the girl could feel tremors beneath her feet. "Whoa, hey! Did someone forget to say 'KLAATU BARADA NIKTO' when they took the Necronomicon?" Jen exclaimed as she ran towards the source of the voice, nearly crashing into someone as she ran. "Ah! Emergency brake!!!" Jen shouted as she stopped to avoid tripping over a protruding tree root, before looking up out of sheer reflex and spying Chizu among the branches. “My empire, Deldassa Veloth stands before you, in original flesh and untainted power, rise once more and stand beside your Great King! The Necrotide…WILL…RISE AGAIN!” the voice boomed once more, and in its wake hideous screeching and wailing noises followed as the tremors in the ground became stronger. "Ah, Chizu-san! So we meet again!" The hyper girl exclaimed as she looked up and waved, over the shrieking and howling emanating from deep within the woods, recognizing Chizu from the time she introduced herself at the Arcane Sanctum in Traverse Town. "So... tell me this isn't Army of Darkness all over again?" The purple-haired girl looked at the silver-haired girl quizzically. Edited by Lawman, Dec 6 2009, 08:27 AM.

Of all the times for the link to be sent. Meglumar was JUST about to go over to investigate Shinya with Star, something they had been intending to do for countless days, and the one time they agree to go, they get a mission message. Well, the two talked, and it was decided Meglumar would go to Florencia to deal with this threat, while Star headed to Shinya. He didn't even have to guess where the problem was once he arrived in Florencia, switching to his uniform as he glanced at the forest. The noises coming from there, the strange colors emanating from it. It was practically a beacon for would be heroes to go over there and stop the cause. Meglumar quickly but carefully moved into them, trying to find Chizu, the one who had called out using the link. He quickly found her and another girl, simple enough really. "Meglumar here. Right below you. Why is it old sorcerers love ruining this place?" He asked in a rhetorical manner. He was really beginning to HATE them. Edited by Captain, Dec 6 2009, 12:08 AM.

And in the endless pause there came the sound of bees.
|
“Sheesh Jen, slow down!” came a voice from within the Cross Gate, before Reika finally came bounding through, magenta-hued eyes going wide at the new and very different landscape now surrounding her. The forest looked like a place ripped out of a storybook, with tall trees and soft grass as far as the eyes could see. Which, on a night as dark as tonight, wasn’t very far at all. Reika had already lost track of Jen, only able to make out what sounded like the voice of a man calling out for someone, but she’d only caught the last few words of his sentence. Still, it was enough to point her in a direction, and Reika did her best to follow. “I have returned to you, to bring you back to your stolen throne! The dead weep in darkness, for you no longer let them breathe! The Kingdom cries, for without you men and elves corrupt your people! And the Ark…it suffers most of all without you!” This time the voice’s direction – and its very high creep-factor – were loud and obvious, and Reika continued on her way, an occasional branch catching the legs of her dirt-stained blue overalls. What’s this guy on about? Are they performing a play out here, or something?” Reika wondered, her ears still straining to make out any sign of Jen. "Ah! Emergency brake!!!" Oh. There she was. “Jen-saaaan~! You shouldn’t go running off into a dark forest all by yourself! Sheesh!” Reika sighed a breath of relief as she approached, her foot nearly tripping over the same root Jen had avoided only a moment before. “My empire, Deldassa Veloth stands before you, in original flesh and untainted power, rise once more and stand beside your Great King! The Necrotide…WILL…RISE AGAIN!” The man intoned, the very din of his war cry seeming to shake the ground more and more with each passing moment. “And what in the world is this guy on about? Sounds like he’s…casting a spell.” The latter half of Reika’s statement was slowed as she watched the scene before them unfolding, simply staring at it for a moment, her attention riveted. Then, like a capsized oil tanker, it finally sunk in. This was real…he was actually summoning the undead. Up until this point, Reika had yet to encounter any truly malevolent threat other than the Heartless, but this was something else. A bit of the mirth dropped visibly from Reika’s face, but she couldn’t help but notice just how jovial Jennifer sounded about the whole ordeal. Had she done this before? It was only then that Reika glanced up where Jen was looking and finally noticed the girl up in the tree, waving to her with a grin. “Hello there, I’m Reika. Chizu, was it?” she asked, not wanting to seem too forward to a complete stranger. There was another person here too, a guy who seemed to know this “Chizu” girl as well. He had a funny name that started with “M”…it sounded like a pokemon’s name. Edited by Kayui, Dec 6 2009, 12:44 AM.

Hooray for Frustration!

"Who.....Dares...." Ein said, with a restrained voice. One look at the half elf could tell amount of unalloyed outrage was just barely being restrained within him. Sadness at the sight, empathy for those who suffered, and above all, pure anger was etched onto the young half elf's face. Einherjar was drawn and leaving a fine line dug into the ground as it was dragged along, sparked flying at times when it glided against the rocks. "Answer me....Who was it that ruined poor Havenstorm...And with this vile insult to life..." Ein murmured slowly, also sensing large amounts of dark magic in the air, specifically one he had no felt for a long time. It choked his senses and to him, even made it slightly difficult to breath in the air around him stained with it. It was the power of necromancy, the most forbidden of them all. Tears of anger streamed down Ein's eyes as he walked. "The nature...The animals...My world...." "I said answer me.....WHO DARES!!!!!!" Ein roared, a cry of pure outrage that could be heard throughout the forest. Edited by Haru, Dec 6 2009, 12:49 AM.

Hidden within the darkness of a tree a man in a leather trench coat stood listening to voice of the man as he spoke. This man was gin and he was standing at the base of a large tree that was several yards away from the clearing. He had been drawn here through a darkness that echoed that now covered his own world and ushered his kind’s birth. Having sensed this darkness he had come here to investigate, and see if this would in any way be of use to him. “My empire, Deldassa Veloth stands before you, in original flesh and untainted power, rise once more and stand beside your Great King! The Necrotide…WILL…RISE AGAIN!” Gin hear the man say his flame in engulfed him. What followed was even more interesting, the ground itself began to quiver and shake and turn over. Whatever this man had done it had Gin excited and egger to see what happened next. Suddenly the tees near him started to up root themselves and fall over, this caused Gin to jump back farther away from the clear to voided being reviled just yet and to avoid getting crushed in his human form. Landing on a branch of a tree a little ways back Gin continued to watch. In the center of the clearing Gin could see a figure stating and surrounded by pillars of fire were the dead were rising. A smirk crept across Gins face. This was a beautiful site to him, The anger, the hatred, the blood lust , the death was all very refreshing to him. It reminded him of home. This could make his own plans a lot easier. “ I do like were this is going.” He said to himself. |

"Hmm, those directions to the Cross Gate thing weren't exactly accurate..." Beneath the moonlight, shining through the trees canopy, a lone man dressed in cowboy gear walked through the dirt and undergrowth of the forest. Although most might become hot and persperate underneath all the gear that was currently clothing Areno, the nano-machines inside of him were regulating it so that nothing of the sort would happen. They truely were a wonder and he was thankful for them. "Maybe they rellocated it around here somewhar-" That was when he heard it. The voice of man shouting through the forest. 'What in blue blazes..." Areno went to towards the sound of the man's voice, until he was able to get a clear view from around the trunk of a large tree. "Well I'll be darned. Looks like some kinda evil wizard mom used to show me in mah story books." All the talk of elves and men certainly help to bring back the pictures from those story books, although this guy looked a lot more menacing than the illistrations that Areno recalled. He smiled, "Welp this outta cure mah boredom for sure." Slowly Areno's hands began turn silver as the nanomachines surfaced and began to form themselves into a high powered rifle. That was when Areno started hearing a shouw of WHO DARES, coming from a different direction. "Hoo dawgy, this is gonna be one to remember." he said with a grin. One thing about Areno, is that regardless of who it was, he was always up for a challenge. Be the person good, bad or just passing by, if they perked his interest, more often than not he'd just throw himself in headlong for the fun of it. And with someone who could spoout pillars of blue flames, that was definately interest grabbing. The nanobots began to adjust Areno's optic receptors for more low light vision, causing his pupils dilation to vary as he took aim. "Welp sir I rekon you stop your blathering and give me as show." He was out of earshot, but his attack was going to make the man notice him for sure. A lump WHUMP was heard as the rifle fired a high burst of orange energy towards the hooded figure. The problem was, that the position Areno was firing from, meant that was if he missed, he'd be hitting a tree nearby Chizu, Jen, Megulamar and Reika. Oh well, such was the price of a man's lust for an insane fetish of fighting. |

Now, let's play together...under the clearest of blue skies.

Vielle walked by calmly, eating an orange as the hooded person made his speech. She had it about half done when the ground began to morph. Hmm...I don't usually fight in large battles like this... she thought, but before she left she saw a familiar person. Oh, it's that half-elf...he seems angry. She hadn't recognized it initially, but if he was here he was probably angry because this was his world. This meant that this had been a world that Vielle had visited previously. I didn't recognize it at first...the first time I was here I landed in a field instead of a forest. Vielle drew her sword, the Blade of Atroce. It was an armor breaking sword, even though the necromancer wasn't wearing any. But neither of her other two swords were any better in this situation. She didn't have the arsenal for fighting shadow element types. Green tendrils snaked their way across the blade of the sword, covering it in a green film. A rush of wind signaled the spell's completion. Aura Blade, a sword enchantment Vielle often used. As she moved the blade, even slightly, a green fire-like effect burned off into the air in its wake. The Lord Knight walked over to Ein, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Don't blindly shout out your anger." she said calmly, "Direct it at something...The guy in the robes there would make a good target, I think." She pointed at the "Great King" as she talked, now holding an empty orange peel. "I've got time to kill, so I'll help you take him down as repayment for the fruit." |

Look at his little dance
|
The boy looked around himself. He'd heard an Arcadia call and come rushing in. He wasn't sure what was going on but someone called and he knew he should help. He could probably do something so he had to come to help. The Arcadia uniform formed around him. "This is Erin Sansai. Reporting in." He still had a way to go, but now he saw what was going on. Some crazy ass... "Damn..." He swore to himself not knowing what he was seeing. The KeyBlade formed in his hand. It was the only real weapon he had. Just holding it made him feel a bit safer. He swung it through the air. Yeah. He would be fine. Erin dashed forward and stopped quickly as he heard Ein's yelled. He turned to see the female knight calming him down. Well, that was probably fine. "What the hell is going on..." That sorcerer guy was evil. That was obvious but aside from that he was confused and a bit disoriented. He would know soon, wouldn't he. |

A mirthful, maleficent smile passed across the cheeks of the 'Great King'. From the moment they had arrived, he could sense the blood and souls of the living surrounding the graveyard as they watched him with eager, beating hearts. Things had certainly changed since the first empire; he had barely finished the first part of the ceremony before the interlopers had stumbled upon this site. Many of them simply reeked from head to toe of magic, it seemed magicians and sorcerers were not in any short supply across worlds. Why, even an elf had decided to join in, whining as they often did about the suffering of the trees. This, however, was no forest. It was a grave marker. The ever-shifting ground began to yield swords and armor, glowing with the tainted fires of Necromancy. Suddenly, behind the gathering heroes, a violent, ear-splitting shriek pierced the sanctity of their hiding place. Leaving them no time to react, they all came face-to-face with the enemy du-jour as it leaped up from behind. But before it could bring down its sword a bullet pierced its helmet, sending its body rolling across the shifting Earth. Ugly suckers, aren't they? “Usurpers, you’ve no need to hide from me, your off-world stench makes your presence clear as day to me anyway. Why not join me? The dead need to stretch their legs.” The ground that had been moving was slowly expanding and more undead elves began to crawl forth. The spying Arcadians and their unwitting allies would find themselves surrounded by the siege of armored dead. “This place was once a great battlefield and these trees grew out of the blood of corpses of the fallen elves. And These creatures only the beginning, LET US SEE HOW LONG YOU LIVE!” A black aura surrounded Del like a black cloak. Similar auras began to form around the undead, who eyed them all with hunger as they gripped their swords with bloodlust. In an instant, as if on command they leaped like the previous one, attempting to pile on top of them all at once with blades pointed at their flesh. The Necromancer laughed maniacally, eagerly awaiting the imminent carnage. "However, you, elf child. I'd like to take care of you personally..." He said with a cunnin smile, beckoning Ein with a gnarled finger. His soul had such a familiar scent to it. The smell made his mouth water and his muscles tense with hunger. It had been too long since he had devoured a proper elf.

"More than one, huh? Well, that's no problem." Vielle had summoned her Aura Blade for this purpose. She held it in both hands, as rapidly intensifying winds began to whirl around her. Her attack would go through the 10 goblins, and with any luck the necromancer behind them. ![]() The aura in her sword began to expand into destructive tendrils that lashed out at the air. Vielle's face was calm even as she held a typhoon in her hands. The sword was a channel for this power, and its armor breaking ability would be in effect. Perhaps a divine shield would be able to take the attack unscathed, but only the strongest of worldly defenses could do the same. For any other shield, it would only be a matter of whether it fell apart during or after the attack. ![]() "Let us see if you are truly worthy to rule, Great King. This is the technique given to me by Valkyries..." Vielle's power takes shape, and its target is set. Vielle takes aim at the robed man and the creatures between them. Oh dear. It seemed the necromancer was doing some necromancing. Within a few moments, a veritable squadron of undead beings rose up, eying them in a way that made Meglumar feel slightly uncomfortable. It seemed today was going to be a real tough day to fight. He unsheathed his sword, and it quickly flashed with light. "...It seems we have a great deal of work to do this day, Ms. Yamamura." Meglumar said to Chizu, since she was the only one he slightly knew here so far. The others were all strangers to him, save for Ein, and Ein seemed quite homicidal with rage. The enemies attacked, and he prepared himself, unsure what to do. A good old fashioned 10 on 1 swordfight. It had been ages since he had to train for this. He raised his sword to his side, and quickly stepped off to the side as the small group came at him, doing a quick slash into those closest to him as he did so. He needed to be VERY careful here. These soldiers had already died once. Who knew how often they would die this time, what with a necromancer here to aid them? |

Ein glanced at Vielle before setting his attention back at the sorcerer. "Ms.Vielle...Please take care of the undead." Ein said, controlling his rage. "For doing this to my world and my brethren...I will slay this monster personally." Ein watched Vielle unleash a powerful blast which could most likely clear away many of the undead elves in front of them. Ein wiped the tears from his eyes away, continuing to walk past the blast. "Wait right there. I know that won't be enough to kill you." Ein said, the Einherjar glowed with the power of light as he raised it off the ground. "I...No. We will make him pay for this, Einherjar. Even if this costs me my life...." Ein thought to himself, quieting his rage into focus for the battle. Ein ran his thumb across his blade, giving himself a small cut on the thumb, and using the blood, smeared it across the center of his blade. "With this, it is now a Blood Oath...MY SOUL WILL NEVER REST UNTIL I HAVE YOUR HEAD!!" Ein called at the sorcerer as his walk turned into a full on charge. |

Areno watched as his bullet of energy shot and miss. However, the fact that there were an increasing number of those dark elf thing crawling up from the ground meant he needed to act fast. He had two choices here. The first being to continue using general firearms to harness his powers and take them out or... "One shot could hurt could it?" Although it would mean being vulnerable for a moment or two it didn't mean Areno could move while forming it. The rifle he had made suddenly began turing silver and forwing and expanding, before it's shape wa distorting into something else. Normally Areno would have opted for creating the Hydra, his missile launcher, but had instead opted to create the Styx, his large chain gun, seeing as how difficult it would be to fire the missiles without accidentally hitting the trees. The nanomachines began to swirl out of him like a silver cloud, slowly forming into the weapon. "Come on now, you critters just get destracted by them other folks and I'll be sending yah back to hell soon enough." However, Areno had to start moving already, seeing as 10 shadowy minion were already bearing down on him. Edited by Nickle, Dec 7 2009, 05:04 AM.
