![]() Hyakuji 2.0 Template Character Name: Saya Gender: Female Age: 19 Height: 4'11" Weight: 110 Description or Image of Character Appearance: ![]() Occupation: Freelance bodyguard Alignment: Neutral Powers/ Abilities: Youkai Boss- She can see, touch, and talk to Youkai. She can also make deals with them in a ritual so they are essentially allied to her, also providing her with an item to summon them to her location at will. Although while she can Request use of their power, it doesn't exactly mean that they would help her. At best this 'partnership' (if you could call it that) is stressed as Saya holds no trust in the youkai despite their so-called alliance, and how can one trust someone who does not trust them? ------Limitation: At the moment she only has the ability to make a deal with 1 youkai. Blade proficiency- Saya can fight very well with a Katana or a knife (up to a 5 inch blade). By no means a master, but definitely skilled. She doesn't have much for formal training so she can't tell you her style, but what she does have is experience, natural talent, and instinct. Youkai Blood- [LATANT ABILITY AT THIS TIME] When Activated, Saya's speed will nearly double and her strength will be multiplied 1.5 times. ---- Phase She will also be able to phase in and out of reality, making it so normal humans could no longer see, hear, or touch her. ------Limitation: She can only activate 'Youkai Blood' for about 5 posts and 'Phase' for only 3. Equipment You Have: Simple Katana First aid kit Personality Description: To put it simply, Saya is a very isolated, solitary being. Though this isn't a bad thing as she's quite... comfortable this way. She's not happy, she hasn't been in a very long time, but she's grown accustomed to her 'curse' as it were. Saya isn't quite so quick to anger as when she was a mite younger though some things simply never change. This devil still continuously seeks strength, if only so that she may stand on her own and not allow her curse grow stronger. Saya generally expresses a calm hatred towards the world around her though she seems more likely to simply walk away than maintain even an argument with someone she feels is weak. Due to her upbringing, Saya has learned to use boyish speech and mannerisms, even to the point of dressing in guyish (at the very least unfeminine) clothes, though even that can't mask the rather obvious fact(s?) that she is in fact female. Also because of this upbringing, she's developed a sort of moral code about fighting, not specifically who she fights but more how to fight, whether facing a superior warrior or slaying an innocent child. As for her opinions on other people, she trusts no one and has no desire to. She doesn't even believe in the saying "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." In such a case she'd rather play the third dog, waiting until the two have exhausted or killed each other before moving in and slaying the tired survivor. Personal History: In the beginning she was the happy daughter of a merchant. Her father and mother owned a store, a weapon shop, selling everything from butterfly knives to rifles, and life was bliss. Yes, there was a time in her life when she was happy, but she's long since forgotten that feeling. The first tragedy, her father died of an illness when she was four. From then on life got a little tougher. Her mother kept up the shop and Saya did her best to help around the house for two years though she never did learn to cook. It was at that time that a second tragedy befell Saya, her mother was murdered. It was evening, just before they were going to close up. She watched from the back in horror as a man asked to see a blade then pointed at Koike's neck demanding all the money in the register. As Akai's mother knelt to get the key, an ambulance came within earshot. The man panicked thinking she pushed a security button behind the counter, as if they had such a thing, and he slit her throat. As her mother fell, in slow gory motion to the ground it's rumored that Saya became a demon. It was all a flash from that point, a wakizashi taken from it's stand, the steel blade running through the man from behind, his last cursing words hanging in the air as he fell... Eventually the police were called and a crowd started to gather around, seeing a little girl about seven years old, covered in and sitting in a pool of blood next to a deceased man, and a woman dead behind the counter. The little girl sitting dazed with narrow lavender-black eyes and a bloodstained wakizashi clenched in her fist. She raised her eyes to the clamor outside, seeing at fist just figures loitering about, but slowly they began to change into silhouette-like shadows, though as the police arrived and entered, the shadows changed into monsters. A policeman came close to try and calm her and take care of the child, but she only saw a monster coming to devour her. Her eyes widened and she instinctively slashed out again, cutting a large gash in the policeman's arm and running away out the store. Somehow she evaded the monsters that sought to devour her. Within two days, however, she was found by someone else. A man by the name of Soujiro Somoto offered her a home, and a chance to live up to her name. With the only other option in her young mind being the street and most probably death, she took his offer and went immediately into training under a man called Shunsuke. Now that she was a part of their group, her name was changed from Saya to Akaiken, so her name then read Akaiken Hogo, and her parent's shop, now hers, was also theirs. In exchange for being taken care of she was to let them have the weapons, of course she could keep anything she wanted as well. Being little and not knowing any better, she accepted keeping only a wakizashi, no... the wakizashi, and her father's favorite sword, a katana with a slightly red blade. It was then that she met her only friend after the incident, the daughter of the Boss, Namida. Saya, no Akaiken rather was raised and trained to be Namida's bodyguard. But Akaiken wasn't just a normal Yakuza either, although she had known that from the beginning. Ever since that accursed night, after all she saw her mother's spirit reluctantly ascend from her body and ever since she'd been able to see spirits though they were only fuzzy outlines, it was the others that were the problem... the monsters... They were pretty rare, but occasionally Akaiken would run into a Youkai, just like in old Japanese folklore. They wouldn't notice her at all but she could see and hear them just like real people. But she could always tell they were monsters because of the feeling they gave off, it varied from youkai to youkai, but it was always very different from a human, even if it was disguised. She kept this a secret of course, she doubted she could keep her position if they thought she was crazy... But soon, it wouldn't matter... It was then a third tragedy occurred. Almost the entire clan was upstairs for a meeting except for a couple worthless underlings, but they had Akaiken stationed down at the front door to guard against any disturbance. They'd locked the doors behind her as she walked down. Although they hadn't seen, or expected a rival gang to set fire in the back... Some time later, as 'Akaiken' stood watch in the front room as she was supposed to, she smelled smoke. She turned back seeing flames encroach the stairs. She panicked and jumped through the flames and up the stairs, up to the second 'gate'. She heard yelling from behind and held her hand at the door... the fire had gotten inside! Akaiken's eyes widened and she cut open the door, though by that time most of the sounds had stopped. Rushing into the flames Akaiken had prayed for the first time since her mother died... but the answer was no. Busting her way into the meeting room Akaiken was met with the pungent smell of burning flesh. It was very hard to see, but her hearing wasn't impaired at all. She turned, suddenly hearing someone collapse in the corner Akaiken ran to the sound and looked down in time to catch her best friend's last breath. That was three years ago and every night since has been filled with naught but nightmares. Since then she's abandoned the name Soujiro-sama had given her, along with her surname since she failed to live up to it as a defender. But she has survived, using money earned from odd jobs and fights to continue living. She's come to terms realizing that anyone she's even remotely close to will die, meaning, she's cursed. How did she not realize it before? No normal human can see these monsters, or even if they're in disguise, normal people can't sense the difference... It's because of this, at the very least, that she has never joined another syndicate, despite however many times she's had the opportunity. She's also developed in a way to keep others at a distance, keeping the idea of the 'third dog' close to her core. Recently, in her wandering, she's noticed a... almost a 'new breed' of monsters. It was no cause for alarm as far as she was concerned... until she realized that normal people could see these as well. By the time she gathered information about what happened, she could only watch as the world was first torn apart... and people seemed to align themselves into different groups as it were. Although personally Saya didn't care for any of it, what was the point of joining a team just so her would-be comrades could get killed or turned into monsters themselves? Not at all, she was perfectly fine taking care of herself, not requiring even a 'cause' to exist. Mashed Potatoes? "There is no spoon." (2 am when I submitted this therefore technically the 22nd :P) |
