Oh, boy, looks like the game's not over yet. Star got up from her seat in a patch of sunlight, her eyes widening as she turned around and looked out through the window. It looked like the others had not been able to dispatch their Bolt Towers after all, which, when she looked at it, was kind of a fail. After all, she was one of the weakest people out here, elemental advantage notwithstanding. But the fact remained that the Heartless had succeeded in summoning the strongest Heartless they had. Man, these things were sooooo predictable. Star swallowed any hesitation that she had about this and ran outside, her body glowing faintly from the sunlight she absorbed. She quickly fired off a dozen orbs of light at the monster in quick succession. The Crimson Armor had taught her a lesson about showing all her cards in the middle of battle. She would first see how strong her enemy was, and then go all out later on if she had to. Edited by Chizu, Dec 23 2009, 11:04 PM.

Nickle turned to look outside as he heard the large thunder stomps of the Behemoth from outside accompanied by the screams of the civilians. Keyblade in one hand and Kaneryuu in the other, Nickle surveyed the scene. The Bolt Towers were no longer working it seemed, but the ticking noise had given him the foreboding they were now time bombs. Nickle turned and ran out of the house. If they started acting up again, he'd take care of them then. As for now, he had a Behemoth sized problem to deal with. With Selene keeping the Large Body off his back, Nickle could focused his next strike against the Behemoth pretty much unhindered. He needed to guage how much the defensive power the beast had. It was time to try a Thunder Pulse with a bit more oomf. Stabbing both his weapons into the ground next to him, Nickle began to draw the out his powers around him, before pulling his hands back in a kamehameha fashion, and began to summon his lightning to for what seemed to be an electrical beam of signifigant power. "Ixion's Hammer!" Nickle then thrust his hands forward and fired it off at the Behemoth. |

[OOC: Sorry for the delay. I had to deal with a few accounting issues, but other than that, here's the rest of it. It's almost done though! And again, I apologize in advance for being an jerk. ]
The Four Houses Sure enough, (almost) everyone realized that staying inside was a bad idea and decided to leave and face the Behemoth. Except for Kyra, Fan and Ryme, who decided to try and disarm the bomb, and Ed, who didn't think to actually leave the area. Bad ideas. I'll get into that detail in a second. All of the houses exploded in brilliant fireballs, doing two things at once; one was that they had the obvious property of inflicting massive damage on whoever was unlucky enough to be inside. I don't care if you think you're a massive juggernaut who can soak massive damage, this one hurts. A lot. You'd be hard-pressed to do ANYTHING from the shockwave. Long story short, Kyra, Ryme, Fan and Ed all get concussions that would render them unable to act for the next two turns. If you have a problem with that, ask your The second thing was that this had a secondary shockwave that released a nasty purple virus cloud that tended to suppress their abilities. Any attempt to use their powers would hurt them for the next... oh, three turns. This secondary effect had a slightly bigger shockwave, so that one could affect the ones who just left the houses and weren't immediately near the Behemoth if they didn't act fast enough (Selene, Nickle, Megulmar, Star, Jameson, and uh, anyone else I missed. I'll just put his/her name here later. Kyra, Ryme, Fan and Ed IMMEDIATELY get this effect regardless because you decided to either disarm a bomb by blowing it up or just stood there). Large Body 2 was pretty resilient and knew how to use its stomach. Even if it was enveloped in an area of effect explosion, the stomach acted as a shield that buffered most of the attack. It did, however, grunt at the sheer amount of Light used in the attack, weakening it a bit and making it vulnerable to Selene's Valkyrie. The strike managed to hit it from behind, killing it. Large Body 3 was also destroyed by Zeronos' attack, as the attack blasted its head clean off and sent its essence evaporating into a plume of shadow. Same with Large Body 4, who couldn't move fast enough before the claw embedded itself into its skull. As a last attack, it jumped into the air and attempted to slam Tatsumi into the ground with a head-first dive. Large Body 5 was also jumping into the air, but it wasn't to do anything as suicidal. It was just to land right on top of the Shadow and Soldier dogpile on top of Rage. Now for the big bad Behemoth. As it glowed red, a chip appeared out of nowhere before being slotted into its horn. It was the same chip from earlier, but now that the Behemoth was using it, it had a much larger area of effect! It completely disabled Netto's chip, turning the battlefield back to normal and also giving his attempted buffered attacks the effectiveness of a bb gun on a slab of armor. As to all the other attacks that were aimed at it... "<... Trans-AM.>" In a flash, the Behemoth disappeared, leaving Netto open to Star's, Megulmar's and Nickle's attacks. It was moving faster than anything its size should have any right to, and its first target was Nickle, aiming to slam into him with its head! And with the extra speed, this was going to hurt! |

With his heel claws embedded in the Large Body’s skull, Tatsumi roared at the direct hit, reveling at his killing strike even as the Large Body jumps up into the air before going down to body slam itself with Tatsumi below its massive weight as a last act. Tatsumi, still thrilled to the max, laughed at its effort and kicks the Large Body in its chest in mid-air, kicking himself off it and putting some distance between him and it. Once he landed back onto solid ground, the sound of explosions rung out as the four houses which were the source of the invading Heartless suddenly blew up for no apparent reason except maybe to those who were inside it earlier. For a moment, Tatsumi watched on with a horrific grin fixed on his face, then turns to the real situation at hand. The Behemoth was going fast, real fast for something so huge. Tatsumi saw with clarity of its frightening speed in dodging all the attacks that had been launched at it earlier, almost as if it teleported… That said, he was lost for a moment on how they are going to hit that thing, much less than by himself. As it runs towards Nickle, an idea came to him. Grinning inwardly, Tatsumi began to run towards the Behemoth, and said, “Oi, you stupid bull, bet you can’t hit me while moving at that speed!” Tatsumi wasn’t sure whether it can understand human language or not, but he hopes that at least it would be enough to distract it and direct its charge at him. So that when it finally comes close… |

Jameson knew what must be done.. Giant explosion..? Forcefield on his back..? Shockwave? It was time to ride the wave. ... Motherfucker. Sorry, that seemed like it needed profanity. He leaped into the air. The shockwave caught his barrier shooting him forward. He shifted a bit, surfing on the barrier like some sort of 'totally gnarly wave, dude!' He rocketed forward towards the now swifter bohemoth. "Red may make you three times as fast but.. Everyone knows shounen heroes glow blue!" Jameson said, overspyche and using his ESP-amp ability to increase his reflexes and speed. He formed his blade on his arm and usmmoned his keyblade, rflying directly at the creatures back. "YOU'RE LIKE.. HARSHIN MY VIBE, YA BASTARD!" Jameson roared as he aimed to drive his blades into it's back. This was possibly due to the shockwave knocking something loose but then.. Jameson was ALWAYS a little weird.. Edited by Cypriss, Jan 8 2010, 12:54 AM.

Chosen of Ares

"Excellent job, Valkyrie!" Selene praised as Large Body 2 fell to the warrior maiden's sword strike, the Briton racing over to the Radiant Valkyrie's side. Without warning, the Briton found herself launched forward by a powerful force from behind, followed-up shortly by the deafening noise of an explosion, sending her sprawling on the ground. The Briton wondered if she had gone deaf - as she couldn't hear anything else after the explosion. Groaning, Selene raised herself onto her hands and knees, shaking her head slightly before retrieving her ritual dagger from the ground, coughing and gagging as the strange purple cloud engulfed her. "Get away from the cloud!" Selene shouted, as well as transmitting over the Arcadian link as she staggered away from the noxious purple fog, raising an arm over her nose to attempt to use her sleeve to filter out that god-awful smell, unaware of the real effect of the gas. Upon seeing the Behemoth charge at Nickle, Selene pointed in the giant Heartless' direction. Nodding, the Radiant Valkyrie wound up as she held her light-infused claymore in one hand, calculating the timing where the Behemoth would pass her, and as the Behemoth neared Nickle's position the Valkyrie summoned up every once of energy before throwing her claymore, aimed at the Behemoth's eyes, the weapon streaking towards its target like a blast of radiant energy!

Today would be a really, really good day to be an aeromancer. Unfortunately, she wasn't. Today, however, was a really, really bad day to be Star. Which...unfortunately, she was. She barely had time to see her attack head straight towards Netto before she was engulfed by the black cloud. Star coughed, covering her mouth as she tried hard not to breathe it in. The air smelled and tasted foul, but Star forced herself to think. She didn't feel any weakness in her limbs. She didn't feel like she was dying, which meant that the cloud was probably, most likely, not toxic. But she did feel something else, and that was, arguably, even more disturbing. She could feel every ray of sunlight hitting her skin, but it didn't feel warm and comforting. It burned. It felt like little pinpricks of fire were erupting over her body everywhere the sun struck her--not enough to seriously hurt her, but enough to be decidedly uncomfortable. She looked down at her hand through the purple maze and pushed some light out of it. Ow. Bad idea. She winced as a stabbing pain shot through her hand, a small cut forming on it and a drop of blood trickling down. No light either. This royally sucked. "The cloud's some sort of power suppressant," she said over the Arcadia connection, after Selene finished telling people to get away from it. "Don't breathe it in!" Let's hope this is the kind that wears off... she thought, moving backwards as quickly as possible so that she kept her eyes on Behemoth but was moving to the rear of the fight. Like this, she was pretty much useless. "Don't worry about me," she told Meglumar, giving him two thumbs up. "I'll just go wait this out!" Edited by Chizu, Jan 8 2010, 09:39 PM.

Hooray for Frustration!
|
Ein wondered what the ticking sound was, never having come in contact or even hearing what a time bomb was in his time considering they barely had gun powder let alone time detonated explosives. He stood right in front of the window, wondering what to do before he saw the other person quickly jumped out the other window. "Eh? Is that bad?" Ein said to no one in particular. His answer was met with an explosion, sending him hurling out the window, burned from the explosion before he landed on the ground with a cracking noise. "GAGH!!!!" Ein cried out in pain and surprise, not at all expecting that outcome. He looked at his arm which was bent at an impossible angle. He was down for the count it seemed. Fortunately, he was away from the gas, and a green aura appeared around him, slowly beginning to mend his injuries while he simply laid there, temporarily disabled. |

Netto: Oh, WHAT THE FUCK! Luckily for Netto, GreatGrandGuyGaiden had passed through earlier and activated Friendly Fire OFF, preventing Netto from being hurt by his allies' attacks. This does not stop Spectrum from using his CrossDimensional Chip to warp to Netto's location in an attempt to protect him, though. Star's and Nickle's attacks fizzle against Netto's now well-armored body. Meglumar's attack simply ceases to exist, as it was performed using water that was generated through use of IceStage and FireArm--two Battlechips, the effects of which the Behemoth's "Reset" chip negated. Netto: ...damn. These Heartless fight dirty! Spectrum: Tell me about it. It's like SignalRed on crack. None of our chips do a thing! Netto: We'll have to rely on unconvential methods. Ready to improvise? Spectrum: When am I NOT? Netto grins. Netto: Just what I wanted to hear. As Netto is about to turn back toward the ridiculously fast Behemoth, he catches sight of the pile-up on Rage. Netto: Ack...! We got a man down! CrossD. Spectrum dashes toward the pile-up and pulls out an EnergyBall, which he shoves straight into Large Body #5's back. He then lifts up GungnirSP, charges it with both Light and Dark energy (both of which it benefits exponentially from), and stabs it straight through the Large Body AND the other Heartless underneath. Just to be sure the deed is done, Spectrum summons three new Soldiers to attack any Heartless that should survive his attack. Custom: 5/8 Chips: IceStage, FireArm, AirSword, Bubbler Programs: AquaCustom Style, SuperArmor Current SubType: Aqua (also Aqua due to AquaCustom Style) TWO SUBTYPES MATCH! AQUA ATTACK POWER BOOSTED!...for all the difference it makes. CrossD. Fusion: Turn 1/8 |

Meglumar looked on in surprise as this strange mist got too him too. Too late did he receive the warning, but he took this in stride. He had no magics that would be effective against something this fast. Well this meant only one thing. He tossed off his Arcadian coat, and unsheathed his sword once again. Star gave him the go ahead, and he nodded back to her. "I have no need for powers, not when I have my own strength and my sword!" He said, before charging at the behemoth as it charged at Nickle, leaping at it and trying to carve into it with his sword. He reasoned if it was so fast and strong, it HAD to have horrible defenses right? ... right? |

Meteor On Ready?

Ryuuji and Taiga both found themselves relieved as their blast tore through the Large Body and rendered it a useless puff of purplish smoke. At least that meant their attack wasn't in vain, even if it was just eradicating a single Large Body in the midst of everything else. However, it meant that their target was gone, so they could focus on taking out the remaining enemies. The Zeronos Card would be able to work as long as they didn't leave an uncharged card exposed for too long, so now it was off to take on the next-closest threat. Which happened to be Large Body 5, which had leapt skyward in an effort to crush Rage. Big bad move for the big bad baddie, as it was now ignoring everything else, and had left itself in gravity's hands. [FULL CHARGE] Taking very careful aim and correcting for Large Body 5's rate of descent, Zeronos let off yet another sizzlingly powerful blast from its beam crossbow right for the back of its head. By Taiga's count, that would be the last of the Large Bodies, leaving only the insignificant little punks and that Behemoth. "Taiga, no matter what happens, let's see this one through." Of course! What, you think I'm going to run away or something!? Don't be stupid! Even if she sounded angry, both of them wore smiles. This was going to end, and no matter how bleak it might look, this world would be spared from final destruction. Zeronos would make sure of it! |

The Middleman (stubborn, yet relaxed)
|
(OOC: After days of research, I really am a bit confused since I don't think Bolt Towers have that ability. The power drain one I mean.) "Oooooof! Nighty-night." Kyra said after her helmet collided with the wall, the explosion alone took away 40% of her total health. And because of the power draining virus, she decided to take a nice, relaxing snooze to ease herself. Preferably for about two to three turns length wise. It's not like there was anything dangerous going on, right? Of course....what she didn't know would change her and SH's lifes forever, as she suddenly appeared in a forest of her own dreamscape, surrounded by corpses of dead animals and humans. Standing over them were three shadowy, yet small figures that munched joyfully on the remains with their paws, chatting away about new opportunities and fresh kills. Likewise, a tall, looming shadowy figure was leaning against one of the trees, brushing what she believed was a dream version of her master's hair with cold, pure white hands and long fingernails. |
