This character is directly related to my first character(s), Netto E. Takashi and Spectrum.exe Character Name: Randy Mann Gender: Male Age: 20 Height: 5'11 Weight: ~130 lbs. Description or Image of Character Appearance: Lean build, blond hair, blue eyes. Always wears all-black clothing. Has a black leather sash across his chest, attached to which is a pouch for holding his PET. Often wears a black leather jacket just under this strap. Occupation: Official NetBattler (SSS-License) Alignment: Light Powers/ Abilities: Hacking Skillz: Randy is a fairly skillful hacker, though less skilled than his partner, Netto. He's able to crack most low-security devices with ease, and a fair number of high-security devices if given enough time. His PET contains a modest set of hacking tools, inferior to Netto's set, but still worthwhile. Naturally, having this degree of hacking skills in his homeworld, which is based almost entirely around electronics, gives him a very high level of hacking capability outside of EXE. Gettin' Lost Powahz: Randy has somehow been infected by both Netto and his brother Ed, giving him the same ability to get impossibly lost that the Takashis have. This enables him to, while walking from point A to point B, end up at point -3i somewhere along the way. This can lead to him emerging from just about anything as though it were something perfectly normal to emerge from. For instance, he could enter a room by walking in through the skylight and closing it behind himself, or climbing out of an empty wastebasket. Problem is, he has no control over these powers, beyond the ability to follow Netto if HE gets lost. As such, he tends to end up wherever the hell I feel like sending him. Equipment You Have: GramSP: A program Netto made for Randy that takes on the shape of a sword. Combined with its hilt (below), Randy can generate this sword for use in combat. It deals a moderate amount of damage, but gets an extra boost from Light-based effects. However, Randy cannot use this weapon unless Spectrum Omega is currently present, either through use of Netto's CrossDimensional Chip, or Randy's own Synchro Chip (see below). GramSP Hilt: This is a metal cylinder with a few knobs sticking out here and there. It has clips on either end that allow Randy to attach it to his sash. This allows him to easily take it places, while keeping it out of the way. It has a thin coating of Dimensionite (see Netto's bio), which allows it to block and negate fairly powerful attacks from Dimensionalized Navis. When used to bring out GramSP (above), it imbues said weapon with similar defensive properties, allowing the sword to block stronger weapons than itself, though the difference in strength can only be a fair amount. Ebon Rose gun: A basic pistol Netto stole from a random criminal once upon a time. Since Netto sees no need to keep it, he gave it to Randy. Voice Modifier: Randy keeps a voice modifier handy, which he can use to prevent anyone from recognizing his voice (except those who have heard the modified voice before--he doesn't change the settings often). Use of this is represented by his speech being in another font. Shades?: Randy holds an interesting pair of shades. In reality, they aren't shades at all, but something more like scanners. He has a miniature viewing screen in each lens, which makes it possible to view what's in front of him through any number of layers of translucent or even nearly opaque surfaces. Mainly used to see properly through the tinted lens of his motorcycle helmet (which he left back home, not seeing the need to bring it along). It also has a quick display of his Navi's status, including available chips. Since Randy wears these shades just about everywhere, and since the screens within the shades have self-adjusting brightness, Randy is resistant (but not immune) to blinding flashes of light and such. Padded Shoes: Randy wears shoes that have very soft soles, allowing him to make virtually no sound when walking, though running will still make a padding sound. Smoke Bomb: Randy always carries two or three smoke bombs with him, just in case. Reloading is highly inconvenient, however, as most of his stash is kept at home, and he doesn't return to his home dimension all that often. Laser Screwdriver: This is actually a tool of Netto's, but to ensure things didn't go horribly wrong when he first left his home, Netto set this device to the appropriate setting and gave it to Randy. In Netto's hands, the Laser Screwdriver has a vast array of functions, allowing it to be used as any number of tools, such as a pen, a lighter, a geiger counter, a screwdriver, or even *gasp* a laser pointer! It has a slot in the end for inserting Battlechips, and can generate a miniature, laser-based version of any weapon-type chip slotted in (e.g., inserting LongSword gives a Laser LongDagger). HOWEVER, all these functions are available only to Netto, through use of an identifier ring on the side of the screwdriver that Netto slips his ring finger through during use. As-is, the screwdriver allows Randy to track Netto across dimensions and, should Netto give the go-ahead, perform a one-time dimensional warp to Netto's current position. It has also been used to amplify the strength of Netto's PET signal to impossible heights, thereby allowing him to communicate with Randy despite being in a different dimension from him. PET: Though Randy has his own PET, he shares a Navi with Netto. Both Netto's and Randy's PETs are linked to Spectrum Omega's processors, allowing them both to upload chips and Dimensionalize him separately. For further details, see Spectrum's bio (it's in the same topic as Netto's). Synchro Chip: As an SSS-License ONB, Randy was granted a Synchro Chip in order to protect the real world from attacks by criminal Navis that get Dimensionalized. The Synchro Chip allows Randy to Crossfuse with Spectrum, effectively melding Spectrum's armor over top of his own outfit. While in this form, Randy has access to all of Spectrum's weapons, including Battlechips. However, since Randy and Spectrum are of opposite alignments, the power of the Synchro Chip is put under constant stress, effectively draining Spectrum's health at a low rate. Use of alignment-based powers puts a greater strain on the synchronization, effectively dealing a single, moderately powerful blow to Spectrum's health, regardless of whether the ability came from Randy or Spectrum. On the upside, Randy and Spectrum can combine abilities from the two opposing alignments, creating a sort of "chaos" energy that strengthens both abilities, but increases the damage Spectrum suffers because of it. Battlechips: Randy mostly shares Battlechips with Netto, though he does have several of his own. All the "standard issue" chips are held by both Netto and Randy, and Randy also holds onto several of Netto's chips, such as his SuperVulcans and NaviChips. Some of the chips in Netto's possession technically belong to Randy, though they're close enough friends and partners that neither one really cares who "technically" owns which chips. Personality Description: Randy is the kind of person who holds a grudge for a lifetime, though he's gradually becoming more accepting of others who have previously wronged him. He still seeks out apologies before offering forgiveness, but these days, it takes a good deal of work to get yourself on his bad side. Netto was the first person Randy ever held a grudge against, but also the first person to show him true kindness. As such, Randy looks to Netto as a sort of role model, and is understanding when Netto performs actions of questionable legality, for he strongly believes there is a higher purpose behind all of Netto's actions...well, 90% of the time, anyway. That said, ever since he joined the ONB, Randy has completely refused to leave them, being unwilling to sacrifice his own moral integrity, even for a higher cause. In this way, he is somewhat more "light" than his idol. Personal History: Way back when, no less than 5 years ago, Netto took a program belonging to Randy--one he had a very strong attachment to. For a while, Randy tried simply telling Netto to return the program, but for one reason or another, Netto never did. After a while, Randy got so pissed off that he purposefully created a Navi that looked very similar to Netto's Navi at the time, and used it to commit crimes in an attempt to tarnish Netto's reputation. He went around with a cloak and contact lenses, using a voice modifier to make himself look and sound as much like an evil version of Netto as possible. As the message finally got through to Netto, he returned the program, and gave Randy his three best chips at the time (worth a total of 60000z!) as a sort of apology. At this point, Randy realized that Netto had never meant to harm him, he was simply unaware of what the "Random Data" program meant to him. This softened Randy's heart, and he was finally able to forgive Netto. Though Netto was having some legal troubles at the time and could not rejoin the ONB (having earlier left to become a criminal because that paid better), Randy happily took his place and advanced through the ranks, eventually reaching the coveted SSS-License mark. His loyalty to the ONBA has not once faltered in the years that passed...save for one period of time several months in duration when Netto vanished from the face of the earth. Torn between his duty to the ONBA and his loyalty to his friend, Randy took on a new persona, donning gear that obscured every inch of skin on his body--a tinted motorcycle helmet, black leather gloves, long black pants and a black long-sleeve shirt. As Dark Hero, Randy was free to explore the criminal element in search of his friend, while at the same time retaining his spotless reputation with the ONBA. In the end, Netto was eventually found and returned to his home dimension and time, allowing Randy to once again take up his post as an officer of the law. Naturally, when the sky tore open and Netto declared his intent to investigate, Randy was right behind him, offering to help in any way possible. Mulling this over for a bit, Netto decided to leave his Laser Screwdriver with Randy, after setting things up just right. As such, Randy has awaited contact from across the dimensional borderline, and, having received the call, is prepared to step forth into the unknown and meet up with his mentor. Mashed Potatoes? The proof is in the pudding (You'll have to eat it with a fork, though, because, sadly, there is no spoon) Spectrum's bio! Spoiler: click to toggle

I'm not sure if this was posted as incomplete but you need your Net Navi's profile in as well either as a 2nd post and I'll delete this one or cram him in the top post with a spoiler tag. |

A hero is just a man who knows he's free.

Not sure if I'm allowed to do this ((I'm pretty sure I'm NOT but Netto gets on infrequently enough that I'd be pissed if he stalled out because of this)) but Randy's PET says it's linked to Spectrum. So I think he shares a navi with Netto's other character, coinidentally named Netto. So... I'm not sure if Hirozilla read everything, got that, and didn't like it, but I think the afformentioned Kaiju with Admin powers might have missed it, and rather than let Netto get sarcastic or annoying, I'll take a slap or two (or twelve) to state my observations. I'm gonna go hide now. *flees* |

The one known here as Jente is correct--Randy uses the same Navi as Netto. His bio has been Spoiler'd into the bottom of the first post. ...sort of. |
