Mon nodded. He'd broken that monster's grip. He knew he could do that no problem. He looked at his surroundings. This wasn't quite what he was planning. "Now come on folks..." He started. He was a special sort of stupid. A sort that thought he could reason with horrible monsters coming after him. As the monsters struck down on him he smirked. The monster should have just listened to him. He caught a Chimera by its jaw with both hands and pulled his hands apart to tear the beast's jaw out of place, or at least make it retreat, and slamming a fist around to hit another in the face. He then turned to the remaining ones. He would be alright if it was one by one but he couldn't fight a hoard. He'd just have to break through then... He crossed his arms and rushed forward into the monsters. Their teeth and claws tore at him. He wasn't going to fight them when they had him surrounded. As he broke through the back of the group he turned around and put up his fists. He was glad to see that the other man was fighting from the inside. Mon's arm shook with pain. The blood streamed along them. He shouldn't have pushed through like that. He had to assume at least some of them would turn their attentions toward him. Well, for now that wasn't important. He started running down the mountain. |

Ada smirked by the little surprise of this creature, "Lamia. She's a ****ing ugly ass lamia. You better kill her Lilith thought as Ada paid her no mind. She assessed the situation just as she sent the first stab her way, a quick reaction as her first target was her stomach slowing down just as she would send the stab from the spear cutting her dress and grazing her skin luckily, "This shit is not going to her hurt, it's not going to hurt. I believe this shit, is going to pay or going to get the **** out of here" she thought to herself. But by some miracle it was inserted into the Pump as she had planned, the point sticking out of it even, as she took hold thanks to it blocking the blade from her hand. Using the momentum of running, her hand slammed down on the wooden pole of the spear, like a true martial artist, breaking the blade off as it went in air from the strength causing the pump to fall off. But she was able to grab it by the small amount of leftover wood with the bleeding hand and would throw it towards the abdomen of the snake, all in a quick sudden burst of energy as she would run faster down coming. Ada officially hates Chimeras... Edited by Zero, Mar 21 2010, 04:40 PM.

Nickle's maneuver worked perfectly. These beasts were strong and ferocious, but they seemed to lack the ability to think ahead or plan their attacks. They allowed a moment of breathing space for the lightning-wielder as he snatched the club from one of them. Unfortunately he would soon realized a club would be of little help: Instead of staying and fighting side by side, Mon had turned around and continued running downhill as instructed by Yun, even if he had failed to follow his other instruction: not killing or crippling the chimeras. One would think the chimeras attacking him would have followed, but it seemed they preferred to gang together and secure one first kill for their supper instead. Once they did they would surely continue pursuing the others. Howling loudly, they all lunged towards Nickle at once. ------------------------ Mon was free from attacking beasts for the moment, but his wounds weren't pretty and the loss of blood would eventually take a toll on his performance. As he ran downhill he would see the following a few yards ahead: The giant rhino-man charged like a freight train, its massive weight and strength threatening to smash Chizu into tiny pieces in a second. Suddenly Chizu dashed to the side as another girl jumped out of nowhere in front of the beastly juggernaut, seeming to think she could stop it. She couldn't. The rhino rammed her with a force capable of blasting through 20 feet of solid granite rock... horn-first. If she wasn't dead on the spot from such impact she could count herself among the luckiest people to ever have lived in any world. Regardless of her living or dying, the deadly impact would most-likely send her body flying down the steep mountain slope quite a few yards. The Rhino would keep going down as well, unable to stop on its tracks, or not wanting to. for the moment at least, Chizu was safe. ------------------- Ada's quick reaction and determination seemed to take the snake woman by surprise. Perhaps she didn't expect her to fight back, especially without stopping to. Whatever her thoughts were, they were cut short by Ada's sudden counter-attack. The chimera was hit square and fell, rolling down to one side and crashing onto a tree before getting up again and continuing her pursuit, but by that time Ada had already put quite a distance between them. It seemed she would most-likely be the first to reach their goal: a deep chasm which Ada could already see in the distance. |

"Ouch!!!" Zhimeng let out a scream with a jet of blood shooting out of her oral cavity as the Rhino-man rammed into her, luckily for her, she had condensed all her Solar Qi on her arms, and had avoided the sharp point of the horn. However, even though her thin layer of supple subcutaneous adipose tissue and strong muscles was to absorb much of the impact, the remaining force still bruises on her forearms and causes cracks in her radius and ulna, as well as causes her considerable internal injuries. Well, she actually had expected worse. As she got knock flying backwards she saw that the other girl was fine, "Thanks Goodness" she thought to her self as she go with the force of the impact, and rolled out of the Rhino's way as it continue it's way charging downwards. "..." Zhimeng kept quite as she look at all the beast creatures, preparing herself for any of their attack or to rush over to help anyone else who might be in danger as she relax her body and directed the Solar Qi in her body to circulate and slowly heal her internal injuries and cracked bones. "This is no good, I should have got myself a few solar pills before I left." She commented as blood dripped out of her lips. She will be at most at half her normal abilities for at least the next few minutes.

Chizu's maneuver seemed to have worked, because the Rhino shot past where she was standing. She gave that only a moment to sink in as she turned back towards the path, prepared to shoot off down the mountainside. The rhino had completely missed her, the chimeras were fighting the others instead of her for a moment. She was agile and fast, if she took off now while the others held off the forces she was more or less sure that she at least would make it to the bottom of the mountain. She would pass the test. But...no. She wasn't that kind of person. She glanced back at Nickle as Mon left him and cursed. F***, I know I'm going to regret this... she thought to herself as she ran back uphill, towards Nickle and the chimeras that were surrounding him. Chizu launched herself into the air, attempting a flying kick at the head of one of the chimeras that had abandoned Mon and was now coming after Nickle. "Nickle! Let's get out of here!" she said, glancing back at the path behind them. She got into a stance, preparing herself against the chimeras that were coming at her. The move probably cost her the test, if not her life, but damn it, what did it matter in the end? Chizu would never forgive herself if she let people fight while she ran away, even if it was a test. And she would especially never forgive herself if she left a friend behind. Forget the test... she thought to herself. We're both getting out of here alive. Edited by Chizu, Mar 29 2010, 12:12 PM.

Nickle gritted his teeth. This was going to be a hell of a move to pull off, but he'd be damned if he'd become doggy chow for these things. As the held the club in his hands, he had never wanted to attack with it. The fact that they used it in battle meant that the chimeras had created it and to a degree, might have some kind of primal attachment to it. In that regards, they could be compared to a cat playing with a ball of yawn, a dog with a stick or a parrot with a bell. "Fetch!" Nickle shouted, tossing the club up high into the air, but angling it so that it would be thrown away from where he was. However, that distraction might only buy him a second's worth of time. So putting his right shoulder out, he pushed his way through the gap he'd created from the startled chimera he'd taken the club from, feeling several more gashes and claws scrape along his back. Nickle cursed inwardly that he couldn't short circuit this bastards where they stood. However, that wasn't always going to be the solution and he knew it. When he'd gone up against Eiji before in the tournament, he'd used his Storm King Form too soon and had paid the price for it. However, things were going to be different from now on. Starting from now. However, that was when Chizu had appeared and was launching an uphill flying kick towards the chimeras. "Ironic! You say that but you're coming towards me and not going away from me." Even in the face of danger, Nickle was still able to keep his smile, even if it was for only a second or two. The big man grabbed Chizu by her mid section and began running downhill again, the adrenalin allowing him to seemingly give him enough strength to carry her easily with one arm, even with his body feeling the sting of the claws. "I appreciate the sentiment Chizu, but they'd just pick their teeth with our bones at this rate." Nickle was slowly trying to turn Chizu around. Seeing as she ahd jumped up towards him and he'd grabbed her going down, she was technically facing backwards up the mountain. Nickle was trying to shift her around to that she could face forwards and when that happened, she could start running down the mountain herself. |

Mon gnashed his teeth. He was bleeding more than he expected and now he was ignoring the other people. He didn't want to get distracted right now. He was just trying to run down the stupid mountain. There was no reason to be worried. They could take care of themselves. He could take care of himself. It would all work out. His vision was getting hazy, but... Well it wasn't something he had to worry about. Well, he probably should have but going down a hill didn't really require you to be all that aware of what was ahead... unless he ran off a drop of something. That probably wouldn't happen though. He stumbled forward and tried t keep running, though keeping out of the way of what he'd seen. Edited by Kaloo, Mar 30 2010, 01:57 PM.

Ada felt an immense feeling of euphoria, somehow it had rushed through her being. She had thought that this entire ordeal would continue to drag on, this entire mad dash was simply never going to end, as if the Mountain never did. At seeing the finish line, she believed that she could do it all as long as you kept a cool and determined head. Her stride continued as she made her way to the chasm at a faster pace, she tried to remember the exact words of Master Yun, if she didn't do it all as she said, she would lose, and a perfectionist like herself, would never dare to lose. "Next, both your physical prowess, instinct and fighting techniques will be both put to test and developed at the same time.", she began to reflect on such if she had done just that. "Yep, I mean I beat the Snake bitch's ass and used my physical prowess and instincts best I can. Check." she told herself. "Anyways... you need to make your way down the mountain before the Chimera catch and eat- I mean... hurt you. You will find a deep chasm a couple of miles before you reach the bottom of the mountain. the bottom of the chasm is filled with mist, so you won't be able to see it. Your mission is to jump in it once you find it. Those who manage to escape the Chimera and do as I say will be safe... you'll have to take my word for it. Those will also be the ones to pass this session and move to the next. Oh and I almost forgot... you must not use your powers at any moment during this exercise, nor can you kill or cripple any of the creatures should you have the chance to fight them." she remembered quickly her master having said this. She began to analyze the situation. She hadn't been caught, she was somewhat injured but not seriously or anything to worry about. She looked back, there was a good amount of distance between the chimera and her but she was alive and biting for all she required, so she did everything this man asked of her. Her euphoria had made her unable to feel her fatigue in her run, Mission Accomplished, she couldn't help but grin as she ran, unable to wait any more for it to be done. For the moment at least they were all free. They all raced down the mountain again, some unharmed, some badly beaten. And the half-beasts followed. As Ada continued towards the chasm, which could be seen by all now but was yet far from reach, she would notice the rhino seemed to have abandoned his pursuit and simply kept going in a straight line, blasting through rocks and trees as if they weren't there. It ran at a speed far superior to them all now that it had such great momentum. After another mile or so downhill the thick woods suddenly cleared, allowing for a large space of flatter land and a great view of the mountain's skirt. Ahead was the chasm, its edge blurred by the thick mist rising above it. Before the chasm however, it seemed like the rhino had decided to stop and wait for them there... and had brought some friends with him. A large tiger chimera rushed towards Nickle, his speed and power as it ran, his ripping muscles and his sharp claws and fangs made it clear he was no normal foe. It pounced at Nickle, claws first. What seemed like a porcupine chimera moved towards Chizu, not as fast as the others, but as soon as it was within range it fired a bunch of its giant needles at her. The Rhino headed towards Mon, the terrain not as steep this time as to slow him down, but he seemed to have realized he couldn't easily charge without them moving out of the way, so the moment he neared Mon he slowed down and tried to stab him with its sharp horn while his hands reached out to grab him into a sort of stabbing-bearhug. The Snake Chimera had finally caught up to Ada, her superior speed allowing her to half-circle around her, only this time instead of a spear, the chimera spat on her. It was a spray of poison, though it wasn't certain what its effect would be should it hit. Way behind them, the wolf chimera had noticed one of their prey was down, so instead of following the others (who had so far proven quite difficult to catch) all six of them left went for Zhimeng, who had fallen behind. They all attacked at once with with either their claws and fangs or with their wooden clubs or spears. |

After a great dealing of shifting about, Nickle was finally able to release Chizu so that she could start running down the mountainside on her own. However, the rush towards the chasm apparantly wasn't going to be made any easier. Nickle's eye narrowed, locking with those of the Tiger Chimera. "Alright Maxiumum Tigger, show me yo' moves!" Nickle's body and muscles couldn't compare to those of a tiger, let alone those of a tiger chimera. A single swipe from a regula tiger could render a man unconscious, if not crack his skull in the process. To make up for his lack of sheer brute force, Nickle was relying on the momentum he'd already gained to help him push against the tiger. He began to run faster, the mountain evening out to a somewhat flat terrain. His leg muscles pumping, Nickle leapt forward at the Tiger Chimera, palms first, copying the form of its pounce to bring it to the ground. What happened next was purely up to luck, strength and who managed to get a hold of who first. |

Stupid girl, you never learned, doesn't you? This is not the first time you got injured from acting like a big damn hero. It might very well be your last. What do you think you are? A knight? Some champion of justice? Oh, yeah, I forgot, you are a Confucianist and Mohists. Sorry I asked. If you get through this alive, I am sure this will happen again some time later on. What's with you anyway? As a girl, you should learn how to take better care of yourself. While your Jiu-Yang Shen-Gong is good at healing, it's effects aren't instant, it would still take a while before your injuries are stabilized, and you would need a few days of rest and herbal treatment for your bones and internal injuries to fully recover. And look, now six wolf chimeras are charging towards you. Yeah, great idea, good job, now what can you do? You are a power fighter, and now with your Qi power and physical capacity at most half your normal condition, your lack of skill is really going to cost you a lot. And you are still smiling? You must think it's a challenge, great, do you understand the meaning of fear, little girl? I guess not, you are so going to get yourself killed one of these days, hope today's the day. "Bring it on!" You commented as you charged up your Jiu-Yang ShenGong to it's current Max of Level 5 of the 2ed Sun, heating up your body temperature and the surrounding air to a rather high temperature. "Not enough!" You commented as you forcefully overdrives your body and rise the Jiu-Yang ShenGong to Level 8 of the 3rd sun, causing a red fire of around 555 Celsius to surround your body as you charged towards your attackers with pride and boldness in your eyes as you vomit another mouthful of blood from the over exertion. Hay, this is just 2 level below your normal full power, as badly injuries as you are now, you can't push your Qi Gong to this level, you are forcing your body to over perform. Girl, you need your Qi for healing instead of fighting at this moment, over exerting will just put strains and stress on your body. Oh well, you never listen, anyway. You smiled as all the wolf men attacked you using difference attacks. This is exactly what you were trained to fight. While the 2 forms you were trained in were both one to one style, you were trained to use them in a warfare situation. As your Martial Arts mentors traced their heritage to the ancient resistance movements against the Mongolians and Manchurians invaders during the two occupation periods. As such, their combat philosophies were based on having unarmed, unarmored fighters fighting armored, armed soldiers and cavalries. Since the invaders had installed strict arms control over the Chinese during their occupation. While they all attacked at the same time, not all attack will reach you at the same time, since their difference weapons have differences length. You run forward to deal with the two that has the greatest threats first, the spears. Just before the spears strikes you, you took a step back, it will either cause the spears to cross just in front of you, and you will use this chance to coil your arms around the pole of the spears, then breaks the poles by straightening your arms, if they were to readjust their aim and continue piercing forward, you will grab the spear heads and twist the pole to break it, and if they redraw their spears, you will run forward and coil your arms around the poles and break them. You ignored the two clubs, preparing to have them hit you. Well, it can't be help, you only have two hands, but at the same time, you have tensed your muscles and braced yourself for the impact, hoping that the wolf creatures will strike hard enough that the clubs will break upon impacting with your body. While you know you will suffer some injuries from the blows, you are prepared to take some injuries as long as you can disarm your opponents. Hopefully, you can successfully disarm at least two, if not all four of your armed attackers at this round, and you will be fighting 6 unarmed opponents, like the two which will claw and bite you after the clubs hits you. You know it will be painful, but since your muscles are all tensed up, you know their claws and teeth will pierced your skin and the tissues below but be stopped by your muscles, not to mentioned, your fire Qi would also burns them a bit. But not for long, your Dan Tian is already being overstressed, your JiuYang ShenGong will drops two level with every minutes, and you will soon enough find yourself without Qi to protect or heal yourself. Well, good luck girl, hope to live past this to put your life in another dangerous situation just to help others in the near future. Edited by Kounoko, Apr 4 2010, 01:42 AM.

Continuing down towards the chasm, her euphoric feelings were uplifted from her to be replaced with that of anger, of disbelief that these bastards knew the actual goal of the group. Were they not supposed to track them only, not know where they were headed? How the hell could this bastard know that they were going into the chasm...No matter, she had to assess this situation at a frantic pace, should she not continue the way she did, the fatigue of doing things without stop were something she had to pay no mind to, letting them rise for fear of letting them stop would cause a temporary meltdown, that would not help in this situation without use of her powers. As the Snake Chimera began head towards her, she wanted to be able to send her in the direction of the Rhinoceros, to get her out of the way at least. Not knowing from which direction this sly and quick creature would attack as they headed towards each other, Ada would jump upward with her leg extended out and began in a spinning fashion to sweep her rotating in the direction of the Rhino to throw the Snake woman at him with hopefully, not enough to be neck-breaking passion, but enough to be a survivable collision against this Rhino chimera. Her arms attempted to cover her mouth and protect her from the spray, it was all she could do...hopefully this Spinzaku was pulled off as she planned and could allow her a chance at escape. "If you pulled this off, you get a gold star..." Edited by Zero, Apr 15 2010, 01:52 PM.

Mon, who was having a hard time seeing, got stabbed in the side by the horn and quickly flung his own body to the side, "Eh?" He looked up at the Rhino. Of course that thing was on him. Mon didn't really have to energy to keep on fighting at this point. Mon rolled back onto his feet and took what anyone with even a slight understanding of fighting would say was a terrible stance. He was tired and couldn't manage much more than that. "You wanna go? I can take you." He couldn't, but he couldn't outrun it either and there was always an off chance you could get lucky. He'd never let being relatively weak stop him from taking something on before. And he'd won at least once. |

Needles...why does it always have to be needles? she thought as the porcupine chimera turned towards her. It wouldn't be the first time someone had tried to fight her with needles. The first time, however, she had turned into the human equivalent of a pincushion, courtesy of one Jeremiah Murray. She knew how to deflect needles with her powers now, but that meant that she would have to use them. They were nearing the chasm now, which meant she didn't have to put up an extended fight, she just needed to disorient the beast long enough to run past it and jump over a cliff like a suicidal idiot...or a lemming, whichever. Finding some way to cripple it would be the best solution, but she wasn't allowed to do that either. Which meant that Chizu would do what Chizu did best...charge right in. She jumped to the side as the needles flew through the air towards her. Without the aid of her powers (she had to consciously limit her speed), she wasn't able to dodge all of them. One of them lodged in her arm, another two in her leg, and one of them cut through her jacket on the way down. She had managed to avoid getting hit in the head, though, and because it had been her side that faced the porcupine, she hadn't gotten hit by as many. It still hurt like hell, but she knew that she had had worse. Chizu rushed forward, towards the porcupine. She drew her fist back, attempting to punch it quickly in the head. Hopefully the blow would disorient it without crippling it, giving Chizu time to run past it and jump into the chasm. If not...well, this was about to hurt. |

And so they were all finally there, mere yards from the edge of the cliff. All it took was one last effort, but could they muster the willpower to make it? As Nickle jumped towards the large feline he would notice for just a split-second, for the almost-nonexistent lapse of time between the moment his feet left the ground and the moment the heavy mass of pure muscle hit him like a ton of bricks, that the chimera smirked in mid-air as his sharp claws slashed through the air, aiming to rip Nickle's skin and muscle tissue to ribbons. Perhaps he thought Nickle's bold move had been stupid or naive at the very least, taking into account the obvious physical advantage the tiger-man had over him. Or maybe he was just happy he was finally going to have a decent meal. Nickle was easily overpowered and his feline opponent fell on top of him, trying to rip him apart and eat his face at the same time. -------------------- Zhimeng's strategy worked quite well, making it easy for her to disarm her opponents off their spears. As the Clubs hit one of them did break on her, the other didn't but it mattered not, for they both tossed the things aside and jumped on her, like the first two and were finally joined by the ones who were originally disarmed. They all dog-piled her, trying to bite on her flesh and eat her alive... until the first started to screech horribly, followed by the others. Her solar ki had worked and the beasts had been suddenly frightened, jumping away from her while licking their hands and arms, leaving the road open for her if only for a few seconds. -------------------------- Merely an instant after spitting a large spray of poison, the snake chimera's head was slammed hard by Ada's foot, sending it- and the rest of her body along- out of the way, spinning in the air from the sheer force towards the Rhino. The poison hadn't reached her mouth, as Ada carefully avoided it, but it had sprayed her eyes. Her vision would blur almost instantly as the poison burned its way into her eyes, making everything darker and darker by the second. ------------------------- This time, the off chance for Mon to get lucky had actually come. As he readied himself to be rammed through by the hulk of a rhino, something suddenly crashed onto it at high speed. A moment later the giant chimera was on the ground tangled up with the snake-woman, making her scream in pain as he tried to push himself up, slowly crushing her in the process... to which she did the only thing she could at this point: bite the thing. For now, both creatures seemed too busy with themselves to pay attention to much anything else. -------------------------- One, two, three long, sharp and extremely painful needles- which could almost be called spears by their size- stabbed Chizu in different parts of her body, causing her nervous system to almost crash from the excruciating pain. As her last stand however, she had managed to lay a decent punch right on the creature's jaw, her resolution clear and strong as the creature plummeted to the ground... unconscious. It didn't make that much difference though, since the two needles on her leg were the size of tiny spears, and the pain they gave her would make it a miracle for her to be able to run; crawl maybe, jump on one leg, still not impossible if she was able to block the pain and move forward. Ahead of them, the strange mist swirled around the edge of the cliff, as if mocking them from afar. |
