NICE DRIVE!

Intro There exist many worlds connected by the invasion of the Heartless. As such, there are many worlds far unlike the world we know in Hyakuji. What follows is a Guide for the sake of your roleplaying. It offers a brief overview of the worlds currently being explored within the RPG so that, even without being a part of the forum they were drawn from or familiar with any media-related source materials (games/anime/novels/etc.) you can still roleplay within each world effectively. 1) Hub World The Hub World is something of an odd creature. It exists solely of a single city, Traverse Town. It is a world cobbled together from the remains of worlds destroyed by the Heartless that have drifted together and merged into this calm, quiet old fashion styled town. It is the gathering spot of those who have lost their own Worlds to the Heartless. It is divided into three districts with most survivors living in the first as the Heartless, as with everywhere, have begun invading Traverse Town as well infecting the second and third districts with their slight presence. Media derrived from: Kingdom Hearts video game series 2) Florencia Once a upon a time, in a world of swords & sorcery named Florencia, there were two colonies of elves living in peace. They shared the tree called Ambley from the tree came the fruit Ambrosia - a forbidden fruit used in the offerings to the Gods: the Protector of the Wood (earth) and Devourer of the Night (sky). A fight broke out due to greed between each side in regards to Ambrosia and how it should be used. This caused the first war in Florencia that raged over 1000 years. The Queen of the Wood and the Lord of Darkness came to a short lived treaty between the clans: there would be no fighting till the last pieces of Ambrosia had been found...As far as the Elven Lords and Ladies knew there were only five pieces of the precious Ambrosia fruit left. The largest one was stashed away in a chest filled with Runes of Light and Darkness combined and hidden in a spot no one knew about... this became called the Ark of Florencia. Many still search for it, particularly the Heartless now that they have invaded for they feel the Ark might actually hold Florencia's heart. Media derrived from: Original Forum 3) The World of Darkness Step into the World of Darkness; a reflection of our own modern world...and yet...subtly darker. Shadows deeper, nights longer, the howls and whispers from alleys and streets more forlorn. There exist many things beyond the human perception of the world, things we only see as rumors or works of fiction. The world is wider than you think. Standing just on the brink of understanding, I know you can hear it. The celestial music, that far off cry. That is the Realms Supernal, calling you to reclaim the gift that was torn from your hands by your forfathers. Now magic, weilding the laws of the Supernal Realms, is punished by the gaping Abyss. Mages, though, break these imprisonments, throw off their bindings, and fight against the Lie of the Seers of the Throne, seeking exaltation and, possibly, Ascension. Those that practice magic are not the only creatures living in the shadows, however, rumors still yet exist of darker things and a secret society of kindred, what we might know as vampires, also exist from city to city banded as sort of its own hidden world with laws all their own. More rumors have been turning up recently, of something far darker... shadowy creatures known as Heartless stalking the streets... Media derrived from: Original Forum based on White Wolf's World of Darkness tabletop roleplaying game 4) Shambala Man has always asked to fly, the power to soar into the heavens. But now they only want to return to the world they once inhabited. No one knows exactly how the great crater was formed. How at least one third of earth’s total mass was decimated right down to the center just narrowly avoiding cracking the shell around the molten core open like a big egg. No one knows how the earth died. But they know that now, they are what remains of the world. The chunks of the former planet flew into space creating a form of asteroid belt around the broken world; but more important than that, these chunks of earth seemed to settle around the planet within the atmosphere on a new flowing stream known as the Ether Belt. Ether was a strange energy seemingly bottled up long ago that burst into the atmosphere creating a flowing river of light that carries these fragments of stone. On three of these massive pieces of the former planet somehow civilization survived. The ancient technology of the old world saved the inhabitants from annihilation but the fragments of the old civilization were washed away... And so humanity started over, new, fresh. And it started with a name: Shambala, named after the city in Buddhist legends. That was the name given to the new nation. Each island had its own name and its own specialty to contribute to society... Magic… The Island of Zakythos became dedicated to understanding the effects that Ether was having on humanity. The basic principle seemed that some humans were born in-synch with Ether and could convert this raw energy into matter by mentally willing it. Zakythos has developed the nine towers in an effort to learn more about the nature of ether and its purpose. On the opposite end of the spectrum, there were people interested in an entirely different craft. Science… The Island of Deist was devoted to researching the ancient technologies and implementing that knowledge into modern day use. The biggest breakthrough was to integrate Ether and Science together into Magiscience! This new breed of magic tech has led to the invention of cybernetics that doesn’t involve a power source or neuron-link to one’s brain. They are linked and powered by Ether. Advancements in technology caused the invention of vessels that fly on the Ether current called Aerosailers, innovative ships that prove to be a growing force in the field of Magiscience engineering. These vessels will allow us to search what other places exist. Finally, there was one more element needed to join the people together into one full-fledged civilization. Order… Gaea, the center of it all, became the capitol of the new world in the sky. This major force once attempted to conquer these two lands under one rule. However, their philosophies changed drastically through the reign of the Lancasters, who were the first to inject true nobility and principles into the hearts of Gaes's people. Hundreds of years later, this noble way of thinking is still the cornerstone of Shambala's ideology. Here the king makes residence and the bustling city of Alanis is thriving. And so it has been for three hundred years since the destruction of the world beneath us. But now we are finally ready to strike out on our own. We’ve invented vessels that fly on the Ether current called Aerosailers. These vessels will allow us to search for other thriving islands. For three centuries we’ve learned every inch of our prison and how it works… It’s time to break out! However, now that the Heartless have arrived there are others exploring for more than simply the spirit of adventure... Media derrived from: Original Forum 5) Shinya For those traveling the worlds it seemed like they had finally found Hyakuji when they entered the World of Shinya, but is it? The city seems eerily familiar to those former residents of Hyakuji. Students attending Shinya High School attest to facing off against The Seven, the threat that Bakura posed when he summoned the dark god Zorc and they even recall the short lived emergence of the Kyrios organization. However, it seems after a point the similar histories diverge. What is the mystery of the world known as Shinya? And how is it related to our own lost Hyakuji? For now it seems a sufficient temporary home for many and the residents of its world have been quick to accept people so attuned already with what they're used to. However, Heartless are also in Shinya... lurking and searching for its heart. Can Shinya even be defended long enough for sense to be made of what it is and how it related to Hyakuji? Media derrived from: Original Forum based on Hyakuji 6) Legacy THE YEAR IS UNIVERSAL CENTURY 0080 AND THE WORLD IS ONE GIANT CLUSTERFUCK! ALIEN FORCES KNOWN AS THE ZOVORG ALLIANCE ARE TERRORIZING THE WAR TORN PLANET! IT IS UP TO A HANDFUL OF DIMENSIONALLY DISPLACED DO-GOODERS TO THWART DARK BRAIN AND HIS ARMIES! HOWEVER WITH BOTH THE FEDERATION AND NEO-ZEON AT EACH OTHER'S THROATS, CAN THE HATSUNEJIMA DEFENSE FORCE STOP DARK BRAIN, NOW ALIGNED WITH THE MALICIOUS INVADING SPACE TERRIBLE MONSTER CROWD KNOWN AS HEARTLESS, FROM DESTROYING THIS WORLD...BEFORE IT DESTROYS ITSELF!? SO ARE YOU A BAD ENOUGH DUDE TO DEFEAT DARK BRAIN!? *Special Note: Because this world is all about giant robots and space combat. Characters brought into this world can acquire temporarily a mecha to use or even rp acquiring some permanently set mecha to use. Just be fair about it. Gundam is a good base idea to go for if you have no clues but any mecha series can be used. Media derrived from: Original Forum based on the Super Robot Wars video game series 7) Niwa Organized crime is not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, it serves as the ultimate police force, unbound by things such as laws and procedures. Like almost all other metropolis', Niwa houses a great number of gangs and organizations. From high school gangs to the deepest, most obscure cult followings, Niwa has them all. Every day is a fight to survive in this city, looking at a person the wrong way could result in looking at one's own grave. Even Niwa's once-proud police force is filled with corrupt cops who look after their own. There is no good in this city, nor is there evil. There's only one sense of justice, and that's doing in the guy who did you wrong. Maybe the darkness had been here all along, but as the thick shadows seep in deeper, a new gang vies for control over the city... A heartless gang. Media derrived from: Original Forum 8) The World of Monsters Long ago, in a time before our own, there was a great war. It was man versus monster--a battle that consumed the world. It is a story that has long since been forgotten... but only to the humans. Millions died--both monster and man--and the war had stretched for decades with no end in sight. Both sides have fought for so long to the point where they never knew why they were fighting in the first place; it just seemed common for Man and Monster to be enemies. That was when Academia Beluosus was founded. A safe haven for monster-kind away from the horrors of the human world. It was founded by pioneers who did not wish to make war. Instead, they intended to achieve the complete opposite: make peace between man and monster. The school had dealt with harsh criticisms at the start, but through time, it has proven critics wrong. Academia Beluosus (sometimes called AcaBel), was a prestigious place for young monster scholars to learn about the world and about each other. Within the first few years of its establishment, AcaBel's student body contained a wide variety of monsters from around the world! It soon built a name for itself and became -the- top school for any monster to attend. AcaBel's mission statement was a proud one; "To educate our young students that Monsters and Humans can coexist in this world." AcaBel is not easy to locate, though. Through some sort of demon magicks, the school is located in its own little place; as if it were in another dimension away from the world of humans. The only entrance to this secluded land would be to take a ride in one of the school's mysterious carriages, driven by ghostly monsters one could barely call a steed. They are then dropped off outside the gates of the Southern Campus of the School. AcaBel has a huge and beautiful campus! The Northern Campus is built alongside and even inside a beautiful Mountain Range, whereas the Southern Campus rests in the lush green forest decorated with lakes and rivers. The Eastern Campus is home to giant open plains and grasslands, whereas the Western Campus houses many swamps and bogs. Many lessons will be learned here at Academia Beluosus, and many adventures await her young students! However, recently it seems some invaders have begun slipping their way onto campus beyond the means of AcaBel's own methods. The Heartless have come... monsters even to the monsters of the school, but what do they desire? Media derrived from: Original Forum inspired by such animes as Rosario+Vampire 9) EXE It is the year 200X, the internet has become integrated with every piece of electronic equipment in existence (from TVs to ovens), and people carry around hand-held devices known as a Personal Exploration Terminal (PET). These devices act as phones, pagers, instant messengers, news beams, and hacking devices all rolled into one. Additionally they are able to be customized with a “NetNavi” or a human-like personality that can be anything the owner desires and is used to operate within the Net World to acomplish a variety of tasks from entering the internet to send mail or even battle against computer viruses. However, the advent of the Net Era also brought new problems: Net Crimes. While eras before the hacker was something mostly harmless in the greater scheme of things now they could outfit their NetNavi with powerful programs for combat and easily crack into banks or other important locations hijacking their networks, rerouting funds, simply widespread havok. However, this emergence also spawned a solution: The ONB. A worldwide organization of authorized Net-Battlers that fight with their Navis to stop Net Crimes and keep the cyber world safe. Recently, however, the ONB has been facing strain as a new type of unknown virus began flooding the net. Some have begun calling them Heartless. They devour the data of Navis they cross and some seem to be seeking something, but what could they want? *Special Note: Because only Net Navis can appear in the Cyber World, but now it has merged with other worlds a special mention needs to be made. People not from EXE's World who don't own Net Navis can still enter the net. Consider you arrive from some portal or maybe use special new technology that appeared in their world. In any case, we're handling it sort of like the Tron World in Kingdom Hearts II if you're familiar to the games. Non-EXE World Characters entering the Cyber World will be able to but will become a Net Navi version of themselves. So for example, if Hiro Tsukasa went into the net he'd become Hiro Tsukasa.exe. Characters changing into Navis will have their clothing change to fit the style of Navi costumes; Org members excluded. Media derrived from: Original Forum based on Capcom's Megaman.exe/Battle Network video game series 10) The Perfect World Two cosmic forces guide all things: Law (the push for absolute and structured order, at any cost) and Chaos (the freedom of choice and action, but at the cost of no restrictions on anything). In this world all supernatural beings are referred to as Demons or Devils. It's the year 1999 and the forces sided with the philosophies of Law and Chaos are at a breaking point. Due to an ingenious new computer program humans have found a way to speak to, contract, bind, summon and command Devils for their own purposes. Tokyo is the epicenter of this new trend and due to the zeal of many the city is quickly flooded with demons of both Law and Chaos alignment as well as many Neutral ones abstaining from either side. Which side will prevail in this eternal cosmic battle? Perhaps more importantly, what will be the fate of the human world caught between all this? Complicating matters a new type of demon has begun to appear around Tokyo. They seem uncapable of conversation like most devils, but have come to be known as the Heartless... Media derrived from: Original Forum based on Atlus' Megaten/Shin Megami Tensei video game series The World That Never Was The world of Organization XIII, it is home to a seemingly endless supply of Heartless and Nobodies. The Organization controls the world from The Castle that Never Was, a massive fortress that floats weightlessly over a dark chasm. Despite Heartless presence this world cannot be accessed like the others except in special situations; only Organization XIII knows the secret to coming and going from it as they please. Media derrived from: Kingdom Hearts video game series Edited by Hiro_Tsukasa, Jan 8 2010, 08:20 PM.
