"Anything is possible. Especially here. Wjo knows, maybe they'll let you stay in this dorm," he joked. He kept looking, in silence now. Finally he found an elevator. Bout time. I really didn't want to put Len through stairs, she seems too tired. He hit the up button and waited. "So. My first class is Supernatural Studies. You know what that might be about?"

The stairs would have been a great exercise, so she was a tad bit confused as to why he decided to take the elevator instead. Part of her felt she was the reason, and him thinking about that made her a bit happy. As the sliding door closed, the elevator began to slowly raise up, giving them room to have a conversation. Relief came over her shoulder when she slid the sack off, Len further relaxed by lying against the opposite side of the elevator where Rock was.

"Supernatural studies, I've never had a chance to start my classes yet, due to the fact that a new semester was about to start. But I would suppose its simply about supernatural things, such as the paranormal. I have that class too, but not for first. In fact, I think my first period was music!" Her first class excited her a bit, Len smiled to herself as she fiddled with her fingers behind her back. Eventually, the elevator came to a stop, and the girl stepped out first while holding the sliding door open for him. "Well, here we are, you coming Rock?"

"Paranormal, eh? Like ghosts and things like that? Maybe I should change my schedule..." Truth be told, he was a little afraid of ghosts. The whole concept of spooks kind of creeped him out. "Ah well. Hopefully it won't be all bad. Too bad we don't have music together. I made mine last hour. Maybe we can practice during our off time." I hope we can. That way I can have a good friend for the first time in God knows how long. As the doors opened, Len began to act a bit more playful. "Yeah, yeah, I'm coming." He had half a mind to say "race ya" once more, but thought better of it.

Aww... was all she could say to herself mentally, it sucked how her new friend didn't have music in the same period as her. The blonde forced out a smile, despite it being clear that she was a tad bit disappointed that he wasn't in her music class. "Yeah, it'll be nice to practice together won't it?" she said with optimism, her head nodding to herself to make light of their period differences. As he finally caught up to her again, she waited for him to start walking and began walking by his side again like she previously was doing. "So what room was it again? Room 508 right?" she said, bending her body towards him to see the paper he was holding. "Yep, Room 508 it seems! I don't know if you can read Japanese as well, so I guess I'll look for the number then right?" she didn't mean any offense, but she instantly felt stupid when she realized that the number to the rooms were actually written in a numerical format.

500... 501... 502... 505... 508. 50--wait! in the middle of the walking, Len suddenly stomped her foot onto the ground to signify that she found the room. "Wow, we finally made it to your dorm room... and it seems it has the names of your dorm mates under the number!" she noted, pointing at the characters under the number plate. In katakana was Rock's full name, but another name caused her to do a double take. It couldn't be right? Maybe I'm just seeing things...?. The girl crossed her arms vehemently, her eyes squinting as if it were attempting to kill the second name plate. "...柚本レン, translates into Len Yuzuki..!!!? WHAT!?" the girl suddenly yelled, but instead she started muttering words in Japanese that he probably wouldn't understand. "Ne... err I mean Rock, look at that name plate!" in a quick motion, she pointed at the second name plate frantically.

Rock, too, did a double take. Only it wasn't at the writing, becuase he could barely read Japanese. Rather, it was at her words. Len's my roommate??? But...how? THey must know that she's really a girl...don't they? Well...obviously not, if they moved her. "Wait...I thought you were supposed to be in Yuki. What, did they transfer you or something?" If such is the case, then maybe we can become bettter friends through this.

Oh yeah... thats right, I'm registered legally as a male in here..figured. Len was a bit depressed, her lips forming an apparent frown that only hinted at the depressed state she was currently in. Him speaking only added more salt to the wound, but she forced out a smile and replied. "Oh, I think maybe it was because of rooming issues probably. But I'm legally a boy, but by birth I'm female. ...Its a long story." The blonde rubbed the side of her arms, it was an uncomfortable topic that she tried to avoid, but she figured that he would have an empathic mind to understand her situation.

"I didn't expect this to happen so soon, but hey at least I have you as a room mate right? It won't be that--... wait a moment. This is going to be awkward isn't it!?" she exasperated, and instantly began blushing a bright red.

He could tell that he had caused her some undue pain by saying what he said. Crap, didn't mean to do that. "I'm sure it's been a bit stressful for you having to be a boy when you're a girl at heart. I won't press you, but I'm always available if you need to talk." He smiled again towards her.

To the awkward comment, he said, "Not if you make it awkward. I mean, I'll try not to walk in on you changing, but around me, you can be in whatever form you're most comfortable in. It doesn't really matter to me." He picked up his sack, which, he realized, he dropped when he herad Len's name on the faceplate. "Well, then, shall we go in?" He opened the door for her.

"I don't know if its stressful but.." she started, but couldn't quite find the write wording for it. Its by my own choice that things are this way anyhow.. she thought to herself, but only nodded as she entered the room. The dorm itself was clean, with clear white walls free from any blemishes. As typical as it was, the dorm had the basic necessities, a single bunk bed stood tall against the left wall. There were two closets at least, one for him and one for her. "...Sheesh, it looks like I'll have to haul my own stuff across campus too now," Len's mood was a bit sour, the blonde rubbed her forehead with a free hand while her other hand smacked the wall in annoyance.

Her head turned to face her new friend, but she cracked a smile, albeit a tired one. Quickly, Len made a short dash towards the bottom of the bunk bed, and claimed it as her own by simply lying on it. She set her book bag down by the side of her bed, before finally making herself at home on the bed. "I call bottom bed, looks like you're going to have to climb to the upper bunk while I'm here." she slyly remarked, but gave a genuine giggle in his direction. "Well then, why don't we help you unpack?" the girl sat up from the bed, and pointed at his luggage.

"I can help you move your stuff, you know that right? You helped me with mine, so I'll do the same with yours." He sighed tiredly as she claimed the bottom bunk. "Alright, fine, I guess," he said. "Guess I get the top bunk." Man I wanted the bottom bunk. He set his bag down in the closet. "I can sort through that later. What time do classes start again?" he wondered aloud

"Um, you don't have to help me, I don't want to burden you, you know?" she replied, although she felt somewhat happy that someone would be willing to help her. Len stretched on the bed, letting out a rather bold yawn. She almost forgot he had a question for her, but the blonde couldn't place a coherent answer. "Err.. I don't really know the starting time either, I'm new at this school also still." Len laughed at her own stupidity for already forgetting the schedule. Somewhere the girl had written the whole schedule down, but she lacked the will to memorize it completely. "Hey Rock, what was it like where you lived? If its alright for me to ask..." she started, crossing her fingers and hoping that it wasn't a touchy subject.

"Well, I want to help you," Rock said with a smile. "That's what friends are for, right? Besides, you helped me with more than just my stuff, so it's the least I can do." Rock was taken aback by her question. At first, he was tempted to give her the American dream; white picket fence, green lawn, suburban house...that wasn't the case. He felt he had nothing to hide from her, so he let it out.

"To be honest, it was very hectic. We were never in the same place for more than a year for as long as I can remember. We stayed in Nevada, mostly anyways. MY dad could never hold down a job, and I always got kicked out of school because of...reasons. We weren't a very rich family, so we always got stuck in some sort of apartment or shack. And it was because of me that my parents kept moving around. They wanted the best for their only child, but as soon as my powers appeared, it was like they gave up, like I had betrayed them. I think coming to Hyakuji might be the best thing for me, because I'm not sure I have anywhere else to go."

He shrugged after this speech. "Ah well, that's all behind me. Now your turn. What was life like for you before you came to this school?"

"Well, if you say so, but if you don't want to all of a sudden that'll be fine too." She nodded to herself, being a burden to others was something that she wasn't clearly fond of. However, she stopped speaking the moment he began to explain his life back then. The moment he was done however, Len felt a bit sad about his story, and suddenly found herself doing something that she rarely did. Getting up from her her bed, the blonde briskly walked over to the male and gave him a hug. It lasted for a few seconds, before she pulled away. "I see... but I'm sure maybe your parents still like you, in some way or form." She claimed, hoping that he wouldn't think anything negative of it.

"My.. life? ..Well" she began, but took a moment to gather herself and sit back down on the comfort of her bed. "I guess you can say that I come from a family, where women are seen as a lesser being then men. My mother liked to protect me, but my bastard of a 'father' was someone whom always wanted as a son. He... did things, I don't know how to explain what he did... but... here I'll show you." Her voice indicated that this was touchy subject for her, but she felt that trusting him would be a good idea. Slowly but surely, an almost trembling hand clutched onto the long sleeve of her uniform. At first, Len gripped onto the shirt for dear life, before heaving a deep sigh and pulling the sleeve to reveal some of the skin of her arm. The moment she pulled it up to her shoulder, the upper area of her arm was 'decorated' with an assortment of scars from past cuts and bruises.

"I come from a rich family, and normally one would think that we'd be spoiled brats. In a reality, we're not as snobbish as some would think. Like I mentioned, father always wanted a son, and when I was born he turned to abusing me physically... 'take it like a man' he says, when I was a girl. Life wasn't so pleasant, I grew up being a studious person, and believe it or not I'm a fourth year despite my age. My legal status is that of a male, my birth records even state that I was born male when I am in reality a girl. ...In essence, I ran away from home to find my mother who disappeared, but I came to this school by will. Yeah..." she finally stopped, her story was much deeper in reality, with a variety of plot holes. But it was a general summary of her life before hand, although it was more cruel if she were to take her time explaining.

Tears began to well up, and her teal eyes began to leak out tears. At the same time, Len didn't frown nor did she smile, it was as if her face was void of any feeling despite the betrayal of her obvious tears. "Hehe, sorry I look pathetic right now, hold on for a second." Her words were barely audible, but the blonde made a quick dash to the bathroom inside their room. Slamming the door shut, she slid down against the door and cried out. Hehe, great job Lenette, what happened to becoming a 'tough guy' as you said you would? the voice in her mocked, but Lenette didn't respond. "...Mom" she muttered to herself, as she silently sobbed.

Rock cupped a hand to his mouth as the scene unfolded before him. Oh my God...Len...What a terrible life you had...My life seems so meek in comparison... As she ran for the bathroom, he barely had time to yell out. "Len, wait!" She slammed the door in his face as he chased her to the bathroom. What have I done?! He turned and placed his back against the door. "L...Lenette, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have brought it up. I press you about this again, and...um...ah, you can throw me out the window. How about that?" He said with a smile that quickly faded as he waited for a response from the bathroom door.

It took a few moments, but eventually her tears were able to stop falling, although her eyes were a tad bit red and puffy. Slowly standing up, she faced the sink and turned the knob until a steady stream of water flowed down freely. She splashed her face with water before wiping it on one of the dorm's towels. "Its been a while since I cried like that, how funny." she spoke to herself, although her mood seemed somewhat dismal and depressing. The blonde crossed her arms, her hands gripping onto the flesh of each arm as she hugged herself closely. At the same time, she spoke to the boy on the opposite side of the door, in a questioning, albeit desperate tone. "H-hey... wouldn't it have been better if I was born a boy instead? Girls cry a lot... I can't stand it sometimes you know?" Len remained silent, before placing her hand on the door knob, turning it to open the door.

She was met with the taller back of her new friend, but somehow she felt rooted to the very floor she stood on. "Its not your fault... I guess I overreacted to how I explained it, hehe sorry if that was all dramatic and all." The girl stuck her tongue out in a forced playful manner, punching the side of her head lightly in a joking matter. She clasped both of her hands behind her back, having stopped hugging herself a few seconds before. Tiredly, Len leaned on her side against the side of the doorway, sniffing once every often as a side affect of her previous crying.

"Boys are no better than girls, trust me," Rock said to her question. "They have their own problems, their own hormones, and their own emotions. Each person has their own problems, a lot of which has to do with their sex. Growing up is a hard thing, but we can survive it." He grinned, astonished at his wisdom. Sometimes I scare myself. Best to hide that from her.

As she opened the door, Rock nearly toppled backwards. In a very comedic fashion, he righted himself using his windmilling arms. He turned towards her after making that little scene. "Hey, don't apologize to me. You don't have anything to apologize for." He smiled at her playful gesture and wiped what he thought was a stray tear from her face. "Okay, Sniffles, you want to help me unpack my stuff? After that, we can head back to your old place and grab your stuff before class starts. I'm sure it can't be that much." He looked at her suspiciously. "...Right?"
