OOC: Haha, I actually have heard of it, its been a while though lol! I'll make it so that Len hasn't though. "Don't worry, I'm capable of carrying it.. its not.. that heavy!" she happily took the sack and slid it over her shoulders, although it was clearly obvious that it was still somewhat heavy for someone like her to carry. She was also a bit relieved to hear him talk about pop, although she did know about Aya and the Backstreet Boys. "I never did understand nor like the Backstreet Boys... they just didn't appeal to me." her tone was a bit scornful, Len seemed to have a small dislike for them, but she couldn't pin point the reason. The girl blinked in confusion, but quickly understood his gesture as she took the rather... large headphones with his MP3 player attached it via a cord. Gently, she strapped the headphones over ears, and took a few moments to listen to the song. Without even knowing, Len began to swivel her head slightly to the left and right with the song. "I've never heard of this before... but it has a really catchy tune!" In one second Len somehow managed to "manifest" a notebook and a black pencil decorated with bunnies. Looking at the screen of the MP3 player, she wrote down the name of the song and the owners of it. After the song was over, she slid off the headphone and handed it back to him. "Hey, if you like music a lot, do you happen to play any instruments at all?" she gushed energetically, something unlike her. "You know if you do, we could play some songs together on our own!" |

"I couldn't really understand the appeal of them eiher. They were big back in the States. But that was the first thing I thought of when you said pop, so...yeah." He quietly watched her as she listened to the song. You know, she's not bad looking at all. I doubt she'll ever like me, but hey, if there is a chance... She slipped the headphones off at this point. "Yeah, Boston has some pretty good song. 'Something About You,' 'Peace of Mind,' 'Don't Look Back'... I have their entire first album on here. "I actually play the drums." He fished out a pair of drumsticks. "In music, I've signed up in percusssion, but I've fiddled around on a drumset many a time. What abuot you? You play an instrument?" |

"The entire album? I should just steal this thing from you and rip the whole album off your MP3 player! ...Kidding of course." If given the time, she would have probably asked to borrow it from him, but she knew that getting your hopes up wasn't a good thing to do. Len made a quick glance ahead of her, and it seemed both of them were nearing the Yoshima dorm, or what appeared to be it. It was getting a bit entertaining too to talk to him since she barely knew anyone within the school. "The drums? I never learned how to play it, maybe I'll attempt to try it sometime later." Music was Len's ability, as a child she was regarded as a child prodigy, learning a plethora of instruments within a short span of time. Of course, she didn't want to sound like a freak, hesitating to say what she played. The blonde scratched the side of her head in thought, before finally responding to his question. "Me? Well, I actually play a lot of instruments, but I prefer the piano, and sometimes the guitar. But mostly the piano though, I think of it as a living extension of my being. Kind of corny isn't it?" She stared down at the floor, its been quite a time since she was able to laugh normally without forcing herself to. Slowly, she eyed the drumsticks with a bit of awe, before popping another question in a somewhat pleading tone. "Um, is it alright if I see the drumsticks? Maybe I can bang on something and hopefully produce a good sound." Len pointed at a nearby table devoid of any other students. "If thats alright with you, I mean the dorms aren't too far away from our location. Um... yeah." Edited by Len Yuzuki, Mar 1 2009, 09:05 PM.

"I'd let you borrow it for a day if you want. You can check out some of the music on there. However, I'll need to borrow yours first and rip the songs there onto my laptop. Quid pro quo, you know." He looked at his drumsticks. "It's actually pretty hard to coordinate both your feet and your hands together. Even worse is to do that and sing. However, I can do that." He felt a bit arrogant, but continued. "Back in Nevada, I was once in a band with a couple of fr--" He stopped himself. They weren't friends, I wasn't there long enough for that. "Er...nevermind." He listened intently to her explanation of her musical prowess. "Actually, that's not corny at all. When I play the drums, I feel as though it's both an extension of myself and an expression of my emotion. That comes to happen with music. After all, music is the purest expression of emotion. Well...most of it anyways." He kinda stopped himself before he got carried and handed over the drumsticks. "Pound away, they can take quite a bit of punishment. Remember to swing with the wrist, not the arm." |

"Really? Maybe I'll do that sometime.. although don't be surprised if some of the songs are a bit.. feminine to say the least, don't worry though I have some songs that guys would listen to too." Nodding, she listened to him explain his ability to sing and play, but she was rather curious as to why he stopped mid way in his sentence. "Are you okay?" she questioned, but decided to drop it for the sake of being polite. Must have been something personal. Taking a seat at the table, it was interesting to find another person with similar views on music. "I see we think alike in some ways, people get confused when I try to explain how music express emotions... this one guy even called me stupid for saying that music was a living extension." She attempted to bloat out her cheeks, just to show how the guy looked like, although she failed horribly. "Really? I can use it..? Thanks Rock!" she happily took the drumsticks from him, and held them carefully in her hands. The atmosphere around the girl suddenly changed, for some reason Len's face dropped all emotions, and was replaced by a rather serious face. Her eyelids began to close, Len held both of the drumsticks in both of her hands before taking his advice of swinging with the wrist. Lightly, she tapped one drumstick, then another. The beat was simple, a small combination of half notes and quarter notes. As the seconds passed, the girl's playing became more intense, to the point where she was dishing out a mixture of notes, some even in the sixteenth notes. Her ability to learn instruments at a fast rate was coming in, and she almost lost herself within the beats when it suddenly became quiet. Blinking, she stopped drumming away at the table, clearly confused at the awkward silence that had befallen both of them. Students around stared in amazement, while some murmured something about her. Blushing in embarrassment, she held out the two pieces of wood and hoped that Rock would take it back from her. "T-that was strange me, sorry I just let myself go when it comes to music." Standing straight up, she bowed in apology and sat back down. Had she made a fool of herself by suddenly becoming serious? "Uhh, was I bad at all?" she meekly asked. Rock stared at the girl's playing, his head pulsating to the beat. She's not bad at all. Very good in fact. Maybe she's just naturally proficient with instruments. That would explain her knowing so many instruments. Her style needs refining, but that'll come with time. "That was amazing, Len. Here, let me show you something." He took the drumsticks from her and sat at the table. He began drumming slowly, adding now stomps as a bass peddle. He began tappibng in different places, including his bag, which acted a tom. "On a drumset, you have to drum different places." His drumming acted it out, hitting the top of the table and giving a high-pitched tap, and the side of the table, giving a mid-pitched thunk. His style rivaled her speed and style, but his was more musical. "You know," he said, getting up, "I think you are just naturally proficient with instruments. Is that true? If it is, it's nothing to be embarrassed about, especially here. It's an exraordinary talent, and I wish I had it." |

Len could only nod when he took the drumsticks from her, and her eyes stayed glued onto him playing. The sound of the drumsticks in the hand of a professional was a symphony to her ears, and she couldn't help but produce a hum along with his drumsticks. She felt a little bit depressed, her form of playing was simply raw, while it was clear he had years of practice in the instruments. "Wow.. you're good at this compared to me, I'll have to practice then from now on if I want to learn how to play it seriously." she tapped the table with her fingers, trying to mimic the sounds he made on the table, although she was clearly not up to par. "I don't know if I'm proficient, but it was somewhat easier for me then others to pick up on instruments. My best instrument would probably the piano though." at the same time he stood, she also stood up from the table wondering if they would continue their walk to the dorm. "Looks like I need to brush up then on the drumsticks, hehe... I seem to suck at using them currently, shall we continue then to the dorms?" From her view, it wasn't too far now, and it would only take a few minutes to reach the dorm for boys. "Since school hasn't started yet, I can help you unpack too if you want." |

"Don't sell yourself short. You're just unrefined. A sitdown with me, and you'll be all set. " He smiled at her. "Here, take em, and practice when you want, I got another pair." He handed his sticks to her. "You'll be better than me at some point," he joked. "Sure, let's get to teh dorm. If you want, you can help. I'm not gonna force you to, and I don't have much, only some clothes and some random junk." He smiled at her once more. This time he took both packs, one on each shoulder. "Man, I'm tired. I barely got any sleep on the flight here." |

OOC: Is he carrying the sack that she was carrying now or something o.O? "I'll keep that in mind then, thanks." she gleefully took the drumsticks, and gently stuffed them into her book bag. She pretended to put at his joke, but only laughed it off. Sliding the sack that she was carrying for him earlier, Len began walking next to him as both of them made their way to the dorm. Just by glancing at him, it was easy to tell that he had some jet lag going on, a twang of pity was what she felt, but Len figured he'd get over it with a good nights rest. "You just arrived? When I took a plane here, I had to walk all the way to the school from the airport." she claimed, that experience was both painful, and rather taxing physically. "Why'd you decide to go to the Yoshima dorm though? Yuki is a nice dorm too, and its co-ed" Another harmless question, but it always piqued her interest whenever someone chose a singular dorm with one gender. "Ahh, were almost there!" she quickly jogged to the arch of the Yoshima dorm, turned around and beckoned for him to follow. Sliding the sack down, the blonde stood by a nearby pole with her hands behind her back. "C'mon, I've always wanted to see what the inside of the Yoshima dorms were like!" |

((Forgot she had a sack. Boy, I look like a fool. ^^; )) "Truth be told, I've had some bad luck with the opposite sex in the past, and not in dating, because I've been single all my life. I'd...er, rather not talk about it. I figure staying in a boys-only dorm will lessent he chance for another embarassing incident." He recalled one time he was made fun of by a girl he had feelings for. I hope it doesn't happen with Len here. She seems like a nice enough girl, but it's always hard to tell. He smiled at her playful gesture at the archway. "Stick with me, we don't want anyone catching a girl in a boys-only dorm." When he reached her, he quickly said, "Race ya!" and darted off to the entrance. |

OOC: XD, Don't mind it, happens to me a lot. Before she dashed to the arch, Len felt a bit of pity for the male, but didn't pry into it by running to the arch. He's not the only one who's been single his whole life... although its my own fault for staying as a guy mostly. She shrugged, she wanted a boyfriend too, but she wasn't desperate unlike some other girls. When he finally arrived at the arch, the blonde girl giggled at his antics. "You know, I could simply cha---" she was going to say she could transform back into her male form, but his sudden challenge provoked something inside her. "H-hey, thats cheating you know, darn you!" she pointed an accusatory finger at him, although he probably couldn't hear it since he already started to dash. A flash of fire erupted in her teal eyes, and the girl let out a "war cry" and began to sprint to the dorm's entrance. Eventually she was able to catch up to him, although personally she thought both of them looked silly running towards a pair of double doors. ...Mama, I made another friend I think, its been a while since I've played like this. |

Rock was not built for speed, so the faster, more agile Len beat Rock to the double doors. Breathless, he stood next a proud and probably equally breathless Len stood. "I...have the...heavier pack, adn you're faster...than me." He breathed and giggled. I haven't had this much fun since I was in the band. Man, this place is gonna rock if I get friends like these. "So. Let's see what room I'm in...just let me catch a breath." |

Len had the speed and agility, but the trade off was a shorter limit of endurance. Needless to say, she was more tired then her new friend, laying down on the ground with her hands on the floor as she caught her breath. "W-well... you probably would have beaten me then without the heavier pack...huff," it had been a while since she ran like that, at least just for fun. After a few seconds of catching her breath, she finally managed to pull herself back up, although her stance indicated that she was still somewhat tired. "I don't even remember the last time I had a race like that!" |

Rock slung his sack onto his shoulder. "You want me to take that pack for ya, or are you okay?" He took out a piece of paper with writing on it. "Let's see...Room 508. Fifth floor. Here's hoping there's an elevator." He began looking for a way up. "So how long have you been at this school for?" |

"Oh, the sack? Don't worry I'm quite alright... somewhat," in all honesty her shoulder hurt like a *****, but she didn't want to be a burden. She playfully flexed her arm showing that she was capable of carrying the weight. Her morale took a down fall when he mentioned the fifth floor, and inwardly she gave a deep sigh of defeat. The blonde remained ardent though, she'd carry that bag as if her life depended on it. Out of her battle ready mind, she heard him speak again shocking her. "Oh um... I've been here only for a few days, four days at the most. I barely know anyone here. But so far, these days have been strangely interesting, as you never know what'll happen next!" Little did she know, was that there would be a change again, something she wouldn't expect. |
