The rising sun's light stretched over the campus of Hyakuji High. Now was the time for people to start waking up, to rise and shine, to greet the new day with a smile. Unfortunately this was not the case for a certain newcomer to the island of first dawn.

Rock looked at the large iron gate before him with a yawn. He had spent close to the entire plane ride trying to sleep to compensate for the new time zone, with little success. He still was happy to make it on time for classes, though how many of them he could make through was unknown. He yawned once more as he lugged the heavy sacks of clothes and frick-a-frack onto his shoulders and trudged on through gate. He looked at a piece of paper with tired eyes. Yoshima...where's Yoshima? If I have to ask somebody, please let them speak English. I don't know enough Japanese to get me through a day.

It was a typical morning, and being Len, it was simply not the boy's day. He was still a new student, standing at a short five feet one inches, and the everyday walk to school didn't seem to amuse him in any way. A sudden force shoved the boy onto his knees, causing his earphones to slide off his head and crash onto the floor. His book bag fell out of his hands too, but lucky enough nothing came spluttering out. A rather large student gave him a haughty look, flipped him off, and quickly left Len alone. Sighing, he muttered something incoherent and picked up his stuff, sliding the earphones back on.

Finally, the everyday morning walk brought him to the front gate of the school. With a new season, he saw an assortment of new students similar to him. Wonder what each kid's ability is here... He chuckled lightly, knowing his first encounter with those two girls were more then a bit amusing. Of course, Len wasn't actually you're normal boy either, nobody knew that he was actually a female thanks to his unorthodox ability. Shrugging, he raised the volume of his MP3 player up, and continued to walk, not looking in the direction in front of him. In a few seconds, a small incident occurred. Len bumped into a stranger, his light weight being less then enough to move the other male, but enough to make him fall back onto his bottom.

"Ugh...err.. hey sorry about that."

Rock had turned into his own thoughts when he bumped into the kid. His thought process was as follows: I hope Mom and Dad miss me. I mean, I'm their son, right? They can't not miss their OOF! The hit sent Rock reeling onto his heals, but thank goodness the extra weight from the sacks on his shoulders was enough to keep him weighed down. Unconsciously, he reacted, "Watch where you're going, dude." He started to walk away, then stopped himself. If I'm going to start a new leaf, I might as well start with this guy.

He turned to the guy and bowed. In his best Japanese accent, he spoke, "My...ah...apologies. My name is Rock Richards, and I don't know...uh...much Japanese." He then held up his paper. "Where is Yoshima?"

At first, Len was getting the impression that the stranger was a bit rude when he suddenly started walking away. Again he mumbled something under his breath, and stood back up on his own. He was about to make his way to the classes, until he was stopped again by the same person. His Japanese wasn't perfect, and Len could tell simply from the forced accent. The male didn't respond instantly, since his dorms wasn't the Yoshima dorms. "Well, I don't know exactly where the Yoshima dorms are... I come from the Yuki dorms instead." Len's english was shockingly perfect, the Japanese accent that was present in his voice was replaced by someone who seemed to have English as their first language.

The student was new, and he could only feel a bit of empathy to his own loss. Unfortunately, he only knew the way to the Yuki dorms, causing Len to sigh in defeat. However, something sparked in his eyes, maybe he could help! "Well if its not too much trouble, I guess I can help you look for the Yoshima dorm, it shouldn't be too hard right?" Len was strangely more energetic, he always liked meeting new people, it made life more colorful. Cracking a smile, he turned off his MP3 player and let his earphones hang around his neck. "Err, you need any help with the luggage there?" he questioned, although it was probably clear that he probably wouldn't need help.

When the guy first spoke English, Rock almost seemed flabbergasted. "Oh my God, you speak English. You have made life so much easier for me. Your accent is perfect. Thank you so much." It seemed for a second, Rock wanted to give this guy a hug. To the stranger's offer to help, Rock accepted."Um...yeah, you know what, that sounds like a good idea. You know that old saying, 'it takes a village....something or other...'" He dropped that line pretty bad. Things were already off to a bad start with this kid, as far as Rock knew.

At the offer to carry a bag, Rock said, "If you could, that'd be wonderful." He handed over the lighter, smaller bag on his right shoulder. He walked alongside looking at the buildings in silence before once again looking over at the kid. "Yeah, so I'm Rock Richards. I'm from the USA, from Nevada." If that wasn't already painfully obvious at this point. Like hell I'm used to this chill, I really shouldn't have worn shorts.

Yes, Len spoke English, after all his bastard of a father was British, although it seemed to peeve him a bit that even a stranger could remind him of someone he hated. Momentarily, he scowled, although it wasn't directed at the other teenager, but instead himself. "Uhh... what?" he replied, he had no idea what he meant but could only let out a small laugh. Shrugging, Len took the bag briskly and hung it over his left shoulder, his other hand still carrying his book bag. The silence was killing him though as they walked around looking for the building, although Len gave a sigh of relief when the stranger finally spoke. "Rock Richards ehh? Never been to America, but I'm from Japan... well Hokkaido if you want to be exact."

Len smirked, it was always a form of humor for him when people from other countries had to adapt to colder weather. He figured that Rock didn't get his uniform yet based on his clothing. "It can get a bit cold here, but sometimes the weather varies... a lot." he trailed off a bit, a small memory of his first arrival came back when the day was extremely hot, then suddenly cold the next day. "Hehe, you'll get used to it though eventually, although don't be surprised if the weather changes two times in a day!" At this, Len chuckled before he suddenly stopped. Tapping Rock's shoulder, he pointed an index finger at a campus map, implying that both of them look at the directions.

"Hey, maybe we can use the map right? Maybe its not too far from Yuki... hopefully."

Rock stiffled a shidder as a cold wind passed through his body. "Yeah, back in Nevada, it was constant heat. I'll get used to it eventually." Eventually is gonna be too long, he jokingly thought to himself. "I used to have a cousin who lived in Michigan, and when I was there, because it's so close to water, the weather changed a lot, too. So I know how it's like. Kind of, anyways." This guy acts pretty flamboyant for a guy. Maybe it's just here in Japan they act so weird. Nothing unwelcome, that's for sure, but I'll need to get used to this.

He looked at the map ater he was pointed to it. "Yeah, let's give it a peek. You could read it better than I could. I relaly need to find a way to thank you after we get done here." He trotted over to the map. looking for anything that looked like "Yoshima".

Len didn't seem to notice that Rock was speaking, although he only acknowledged the fact about his cousin with a simple 'uh huh'. Currently, he was busy analyzing the map, attempting to single out the kanji for the Yoshima dorm. The map was a little bit compact, with barely any space between each designated building. He spotted the dorm for girls, and the dorm for co-eds, but couldn't find the one for guys. Light teal eyes squinted at the text, and a light bulb suddenly lit up inside his head. Slamming a fist into the palm of his hand, he was finally able to make out the directions to the Yoshima dorm. Although he couldn't help but grimance at the amount of time it would take, it was on the opposite side of the school, west to where they currently were.

"Err... I think I found it, but its all the way on the other side. We were walking in the wrong direction." Nervously, he forced a laugh out in an attempt to lighten to mood, and to hopefully avoid a bad impression. "Sorry about that, its just that I usually go this way to the Yuki dorm, I figured that maybe the Yoshima dorm would be nearby it." Len shrugged and gave out a heavy sigh. Already in the morning was Len starting to get stressed over the most trivial of things. "C'mon, from where we are, it should be to the west." To further clarify his explanation, the boy pointed in the direction, and a building stood out in the distance among the sea of students. He began to walk, beckoning for Rock to follow him.

Rock let out a tired sigh at the news. "And this is such a large campus, too. Ah well. Such is life." He held up his hand at his apology. "No need to apologize. You're actually doing me a favor, so I should be thanking you. Besdies, it's only natural someone would assume dorms to be together. He followed him through the thralls of students. He stuck close by to him, as they wandered through. "So. I never got your name, by the way. Also, this sis a school for 'special' students, right? What makes you special, then?"

"Uhh.. Len Yuzuki, I thought I told you my name already? Guess I haven't..." that was weird, he could have sworn he did. It was still a bit silent between both of them, Len's ability to keep conversations going weren't up to par with other people. He stopped smiling momentarily, his face were void of any emotions upon hearing the teenager question his "special" ability. What should he say in this situation? Len was dumbstruck, he shook his head frantically and tried to come up with the correct wording. At times he would open his mouth to speak, but nothing came out, only a stark silence. Gulping, he finally managed to make out something coherent. "Uhh... well, I don't know if its anything special, but I'm not really what... ugh let me just show you real quickly." His body body shivered at having to actually use his ability, but well this person was curious.

In the midst of the walking, Len closed his eyes, and slowly but surely his whole body glowed a faint white color. As if the boy wasn't short enough, his bodily features suddenly began morph into something more feminine. In a matter of seconds, in what was a male body was now that of a female's. Opening her eyes finally, the original Len finally made her debut. Opening her eyes, her hairstyle was slightly different, the small pony tail that held the male form's hair up was gone, and her hair flowed freely around her head. "Ehehe, this is my true form, biologically. My full name is Lenette Yuzuki, or Len for short when I'm a guy." A small tint of red decorated her face, this form was always embarrassing for her, she somehow felt weaker as a girl.

"Sorry if this is awkward and all, I didn't want to surprise you and all."

Rock's eyes widened at the display before him. Never before had he seen a transformation like this. Sure, he had a pet butterfly as a kid, but that was hardly the same thing. "Wow...um Lenette. hat was...well...to be quite frank...amazing. I've never seen anything like that. It's incredible. Wish I had something special like that. Instead I got this." He fished inside his pack for a Bic lighter. "Er...I'm not a smoker, I just cary this lighter around for...you know, training."

He flicked the lighter on and stared at teh fir for a second. He let go of the trigger, but the fire still burned. He moved the lighter, but the fire stayed in its place. He blinked and the fire extinguished. He put a scowl on his face. Dang it. I need to concentrate more if just blinking will stop it. "I can manipulate forms of energy, like fire and electricity. Not sure where it will lead or if I will be able to create it, but yeah. Nothing special, can't really use it in any sort of fight."

Len was actually amazed that he didn't react in a negative way to her power. A feeling of relief came over her, after all he was the first person to actually see her original form. "My power isn't anything special... it just helps in certain situations." she let out a small giggle, but was rather perplexed when he brought out a lighter. She was suspicious at first, and was a tad bit intimidated as to what he was capable of doing with the lighter. Rock's demonstration sparked a curiosity, teal eyes sparkled with interest, and she would gaze at the fire as it simply stayed in place. Subconsciously she clapped out loud, before speaking in a cheerful tone. "Hmm... maybe you'll be able to use it for self defense one day, or maybe you might be able to use it in some scientific aspect!" Her once shy nature was starting to dissipate, being replaced by a more energetic Lenette.

One thing was clear though, was that the bag on her shoulder was somewhat heavier then before. Setting the bag down, Len rubbed her left shoulder to get rid of the ache, and quickly slid it back on. "Aah well.. there are some advantages in this form... for one I'm faster and more agile, although I have a downside in physical strength." sometimes the girl hated the human body, especially the way both genders were built genetically. It could have helped if both genders were balanced, but life isn't fair isn't it? Len stared at the male for a few seconds, before a question popped up yet again.

"Uhh, should I stay in this form? If its easier talking to me as a guy then I don't mind.." it didn't really mean anything, she was just rather curious to whether he'd prefer talking to a male or female.

((I just realized some of the spelling errors I did in my last post. I HATE THIS KEYBOARD WITH RAGE AND MOUF))

Rock shrugged at her awe. "It's really nothing special. I can't do much wtih it, except what you just saw and maybe cause a blackout in a room." He noticed that she was rubbing her shoulder. She's weaker in this form. "Here, I can take that for you. We don't have much further to go." He grabbed the bag she carried and put it on his shoulder. "Sorry my stuff is so heavy, my own shoulder is starting to hurt." He smiled kindly. "You can stay in this form if you'd like, I don't care. Whatever is most comfortable for you."

The two trudged on. "So. What kind of music you listen to? Noticed you have an MP3 player."

OOC: Lol thats alright xD, I don't mind at all.)

A black out... for some reason she felt like playing a prank which was clearly unlike her. Pushing away the offending thought, Len felt a bit useless when he took the bag from her. "Uhh... I'm fine I can carry it still if you want." she was a bit hesitant to simply take it back from him, after all it wasn't her luggage. She muttered something barely audible, although it was clear that it was directed at herself instead of him. "Oh really? I guess I'll stay in this form then, its been a while since I've gone back to my original self." Jokingly, she punched the side of her head and stuck out her tongue playfully, but a pained look betrayed her attempt at being humorous. One thing is though, she wished she was wearing the female uniform right now, instead of the now baggy clothing she was currently wearing.

Rock's question made her realize that she indeed had an MP3 player, and once again she felt silly. "O-oh, yes that, I listen to just about anything, but I was listening to some R&B songs. I do listen to some pop songs though... and no, not those sugary pop ones!" Len was instantly on the defensive, people thought it was a bit surprising that she'd listen to pop. Although the "pop" songs she had were mostly slow paced. "I don't know that much about American artists though... I grew up listening to Japanese artists since this where, well, where I was born." Taking out the white MP3 player which looked suspiciously like an iPod, the girl slid her finger against the circular pad, and a list of Japanese songs came up, most of it written in kanji with the occasional English title. "Well, I was listening to this one song, its called 'Come Back to Me' by that one famous singer, Utada." She had a hopeful face, maybe he knew about her since she was a rather famous artist in this country.

"Well...if you want, you can still carry. If it gets too heavy for you, tell me." He handed over the sack. To her music preference, he smiled. "Hey, I wasn't thinking of sugary pop. I was thinking stuff by like Aya Hirano, maybe the Backstreet Boys. It's all in what you like." He pulled out a red, square MP3 player from his pocket. "This thing has a little bit of everything, but a lot on here is rock. Well, American Rock, anyways." He turned the thing on and looked at it. "...Oh man, Boston. Here, give this a listen, Len." He handed her his bulky headphones which were already attached to the thing. Playing was Boston's "Foreplay/Long Time".

((please tell me you've heard this song))
