It’s time I start to give my muse some exercises so I thought I start on a little novel project~ The story will be written in chapters (rather long ones) so there will be quite a bit of time between the posting time of the next chapter~ The story itself actually focuses on the life of a certain character I had made a long time ago, and of course comments are always welcome, oh and proof readers might always send a tell if interested~ *smiles softly*

Chronicles of Arcadia: Introduction
Do you know about fairy tales? They are little stories often told to children to excite them. Those stories often take place in a world different than the one we all live in. It’s a world filled with mysterious powers, magnificent creatures and beings that surpass our imagination. It’s a world filled with excitement and adventures were a common event. Still when people grow up those stories often slowly start to fade away from the memories, as they are forced to accept reality and live according to society. Fairy tales become considered a tool to occupy the attention of children and considered to simply be a fabric of imagination, the fantasy of someone’s mind. Yet not all people desire to forsaken those stories they grew up with. They honestly believed the existence of such a world might have been real, or they wanted to believe it truly did. Many times people tried to find theories to proof the existence of such a world. The theories about the inner world, a place humans would dwell in when they were asleep, the world shaped by their own dreams or the existence of parallel dimensions were created by their belief in that world.

Yet little could people believe how close the world they desired had actually been…

There is a place called Arcadia, a place that often resembled our own world. How exactly it came into existence or when had been a secret long forgotten in time. But it didn’t mean that their entire history was forgotten in the past, for there is one source that had recorded those important events of the past. It’s a ancient book filled with stories and tales people would only find in their own imagination, and even then those stories often surpassed that imagination. One might call it the chronicles of that world, that is why the book was known as The Chronicles of Arcadia. Maybe it’s thanks to that book that the upcoming story can still be retold, and one should be glad for it to still be known. It shows how even such a magnificent world can be haunted by darkness, chaos and bloodshed, and it’s in such a period, when darkness ruled the world that the chronicles would begin. A time when the entire world was controlled by the darkness within humans, and how with a certain someone’s guidance that darkness was turned into light, suffering into prosperity and war into peace.

The oldest records of Arcadia tells that for as long as one could remember that the entire world was divided in many small countries, only to be overshadowed by twelve gigantic countries, holding such a power and influence they became known as the twelve great kingdoms. For a long time people had worked together in order to survive, but more importantly to prosper. They depended on each other for aid but also for trade since the lands looked different from country to country yet as they grew in size and power the seductive sensation that might brought the rulers of the twelve great kingdoms had caused them to desire to expand their domains. Countries were invaded, forced to join under the rule of their invaders but it finally caused conflicts to arise between the different kingdoms and in the end that conflict had turned into a war, and bloodshed soon followed in its wake.

During that period known as the great war the suffering was so great many people had already forsaken their future, fearing that the greed for power would finally be the demise of their world, a prediction that would have proved to be true if a certain individual disturbed the mindless conflict. It’s still a sight remembered in the minds of the elderly people who were in the prime ages of their life. Called to war by their king they had became soldiers in their kingdom’s army, and followed countless battles under its banner, yet they all agreed that their final battle was the most memorable of all.

Loud rumbling noises were hearable across the wasteland as rows of armored knights were seen marching in perfect union. Horses silently strode forwards, seemingly affected by the gloomy mood that filled the place while far behind them the growling noises of wheels rolling over stones overwhelmed any other sound. Tall catapults slowly rode forwards to fill up the last spaces of the army. They were going to war… Only a few hours later the conflicts of war repeated itself. Soldiers clashed their swords with the enemies, cavalry overwhelmed their opponents under the hooves of their horses while giant rocks crashed upon the targets of the siege weapons. It was a horrible sight to witness, young men fought for their lives as the ground under them was soaked in blood, the corpses of both friend and foe surrounding them. What fate would await them? Would they die and become part of the pile of corpses, or would they live, just to die in another conflict? Still nobody would have expected that salvation would be found in the middle of that violence.

For a moment the countless screams that haunted the air had become muted in a spine-chilling silence when suddenly the entire battlefield trembled in response. Suddenly hearing the screaming voices of their friends all the soldiers gazed toward the direction of the sound, their bodies suddenly freezing in fear. While their thoughts were filled with a possible horrifying scenery of their friends being slaughtered a entire different sight awaited them, for those friends they feared to be death were actually send flying into the air! Soldiers crashing against their companions who were standing meters away, horses running away in fear and the giant boulders propelled by the siege weapons were send back flying as if locked in a game of tennis. Right in the middle of their battlefield a large opening was formed, standing in the middle of it a single tall being. The person was clad entirely in a silver armor while holding a giant claymore in its hands, raising it up again after having swung it a moment ago, yet the sight that had caught the soldiers both in fear and awe was hovering above the silver knight. A long and slender silver haired woman, clad in a silken dress as white as the snow was seen floating gently above the knight, her own body being illuminated by a bright light, as if sought her out before she spoke in a gentle voice

“It’s time to end this era of war….”

What consequences will the appearance of the two mystical figures bring? What will the intentions of the mysterious woman be? What future will await Arcadia and what purpose does the silver knight have? That and more will be answered in the next chapter~

Prologue: The goddess who started it all.
