"Yeah, gotta prepare for the inevitable." John couldn't help but let out another chuckle as he said this. Despite not being in school in what felt like forever, John didn't dread the fact that he had to go back. The only thing John didn't really seem to be too happy about was the uniform. But John didn't let that get him down, clothes were clothes and that was the way the school was run. "Are you going back too? Cause if you are, I can walk you back to your dorm." |

"Yeah, gotta prepare for the inevitable," John let out another chuckle as the bus approached from the distance. Already, some of the other people at the bus stop were rising from the benches and getting ready. "Are you going back too? Cause if you are, I can walk you back to your dorm." "Well, yes," Selene replied as she got up from the bench. "Then we'll take the bus back to the school gates, then." The British heiress pointed to the bus that had just pulled over at the bus stop, with a next batch of passengers boarding and alighting. |

"Good idea." John spoke as he stood up and aligned himself with the bus. The bus itself wasn't too crowded, but the options for seats were very unsavory. The people that were in the bus were mostly lined up towards the windows, leaving only one group of seats in the back open while the rest of the seats were situated for the aisles. "So, which will it be...aisle, or grouped?" John asked, paying the bus fare and walking inside, waiting for Selene to decide before taking a seat. |

"Good idea." And a good idea it was; the bus itself wasn't crowded, but most of the passengers on board lined themselves up along the windows, leaving only one group of seats at the very rear. If they took any of the seats situated along the aisle they'd either be separated by the aisle between them, or have either one of them at the front or back. "So, which will it be...aisle, or grouped?" John asked as he paid the bus fare. It didn't take the British heiress long to answer... "I think we're better off sitting along the aisle," Selene replied as she moved towards a nearby seat, placing herself next to an elderly Japanese woman. The British heiress motions for John to sit down in the aisle seat in front of her, next to ratty-looking middle-aged man in a gray coat and hat. |

'Damn...' John thought to himself, nodding as he sat next to the middle aged man with the gray hat and coat. The man seemed shifty up close, but the man didn't speak a word and only stared out the window as the bus pulled away from the stop. The bus moved along swiftly for public transportation, leaving only the humming of the engine as they traveled. "You take the bus often? Or do you usually have a car pick you up like you did last time?" |

"You take the bus often? Or do you usually have a car pick you up like you did last time?" John asked as he sat in front of Selene, next to the ratty-looking man. But it certainly beat sitting on the one behind Selene, which would mean sitting next to a large man - presumably a sumo wrestler judging from his build. Despite his massive girth he appeared powerful rather than flabby - since his bulk nearly filled up the entirety of the seat which could normally accommodate two people. "I normally contact the Frostfire Building downtown to get one of their drivers down to pick me up," Selene replied. "But currently one of them is on sick leave, and the others have their hands full at the moment handling important visitors to the building, potential business partners from Japan and China that have expressed interest in joint projects with Frostfire Industries' Japan branch," the British heiress continued as the bus pulled up at a bus stop in the middle of downtown, again with people boarding and alighting, though Selene didn't pay any special heed to them. |

John couldn't help but seem a little surprised as he nodded. John wasn't surprised that she could talk about the company at great length, but he was more surprised that she knew so much about the goings on of the company. Selene didn't look the type that was interested in all the goings on of a big company like Frostfire Industries, but she seemed to know the ins and outs just like any other employee. "Sounds interesting." John said, leaning back into his seat as the bus continued on it's journey. For the first time this whole time, John could feel a bit of an unnatural silence hanging in the air. |

For a moment there was silence as the bus continued along its route through downtown Hyakuji, picking up and dropping off passengers. It would appear that fortune smiled on the two of them as the elderly Japanese woman alighted at a stop, allowing Selene to shift inwards towards the window. "Hey John," Selene tapped the electromancer on the shoulder as she pointed to the now empty space next to her, having now occupied the space once held by the old woman. "Over here," the British heiress said with a smile. |

John had spaced out for a moment as he sat on the bus, letting his eyes wander from head to head and eventually past the middle aged man and out the window. However, after what felt like an eternity, fortune smiled upon John as his shoulder was tapped on. Turning to face Selene, John now noticed that the other seat in her row was now empty, prompting John to take the seat for himself. Quickly sliding out of his seat and into the empty seat beside Selene, John quickly let out a sigh as the bus continued to move along slowly. "Thought that seat was never gonna be empty." |

"Thought that seat was never gonna be empty," John said as he abandoned his spot next to the ratty-looking middle-aged man and sat down next to Selene as the bus continued along its route. "Well, I suppose you could call that a miracle," the British heiress chuckled. She had taken this particular bus service, and knew that at the current point in its route it would be finishing its loop through downtown and pass by the road next to the high school's front gate. |

"Heh, miracle is a good word for it." John spoke as he made himself comfortable next to Selene. The bus had come to a full stop at a red light, blocked off by other cars and even a motorcycle nearby. The people in the bus nor the scenery outside no longer held John's attention, and now John was paying attention only to Selene. "Is it bad that I don't want this to end?" |

"Heh, miracle is a good word for it," John replied as he made himself comfortable next to Selene, while the bus came to a stop at a red light. There wasn't much to look at except for traffic and pedestrians, the only thing that remotely sparked her interest being a street magician entertaining a small crowd with his 'magic' tricks at a nearby open plaza. Except as far as Selene knew they weren't really spells as she could detect no signatures of magic - merely sleight of hand and some cleverly engineered gadgets. "Is it bad that I don't want this to end?" Selene gave a brief start as she heard John's questions, not realizing that the electromancer had been paying more attention to her than the scenery. Meanwhile "oohs" and "ahs" of amazement came from the crowd watching the street magician as he ignited a lighter and seemed to take the flame off the lighter onto his fingers, and with a snap of his fingers caused the tiny flame to flare on his hand and erupt into a small column of fire. "Well... that'd be good and all that a day like this would never end," Selene turned her gaze from outside the bus window to John, smiling warmly as she did. "But it'd be kind of boring if every day is the same day," she continued. And as she answered, the traffic lights turned green once more, as the bus' engine gave a low rumbling noise as the driver hit the accelerator, getting the vehicle moving once more. |

"Maybe..." John let out a bit of a yawn as he leaned back in his chair, stretching his arms out until he couldn't stretch them anymore. Setting one arm in his lap, the other arm made its way around Selene's shoulders and rested there comfortably. Shutting his eyes for a second, a small smile formed upon John's face as he thought about every day being the exact same. "I don't think I'd mind though." |

"Maybe..." came John's reply as he yawned a bit, leaning back as he stretched out his arms as far as he could manage before placing one of them on his lap and for the other, resting comfortably across Selene's shoulders. "I don't think I'd mind though," the electromancer said as he closed is eyes for a second, smiling slightly. "Better days lie ahead, though," the British heiress replied cheerfully. "Of that I can be confident." As the bus made its way out of the downtown district, the high-rise office buildings and shopping malls give way to sprawling low-rise residences and stretches of greenery. "I suppose you'd needing a siesta?" Selene asked, noticing that the day has tired him out a little. |

"Wouldn't mind one of those right about now." John shook his head a little as the bus suddenly came to a hault. Opening his eyes yet again, John noticed that the tall business buildings had disappeared into the grassy patches and the smaller buildings. Also, within a matter of minutes from this point on, the stop that John and Selene needed to get off at was finally approached. "Well, time to get off." John spoke, getting out of his seat and making his way out of the bus. |
