WHAT'S SO FUNNY?
Humans are just like bees. Proof of such a statement lies in the eyes of Jean Hardy, whom set his gaze on one of the busier terminals at Hyakuji's train station. Floods of nameless faces pouring in and out of these thin metal boxes that zipped away on the train tracks. There were hundreds--even thousands--of people running, walking, talking, laughing. What Jean found most fascinating about this sight was that it was never still and never the same. Very rarely did the young boy see the same person twice. It was this sort of atmosphere that brought to attention the vastness of the world in which Jean lives.

The young man remained leaning on the upper-floor railing, watching the spectacular showcase of man's evolution from hunter to conductor. For the most part, he kept silent while drinking his melon-flavored soda. There wasn't anyone to talk to despite being surrounded by an extraordinary amount of people. If Jean were to talk to anybody, it would be himself. Of course, doing that would make others think and speak ill of the young lad, so he would refrain from doing so.

Jean took another drink from his soda only to find it empty. The can was turned completely inside out as Jean kept his mouth open to catch any last drops trying to reach salvation, but no luck. Jean shook the can for a little bit with his mouth wide open and his tongue out there. Aghhhh, it wasn't working. He would have to buy another. Casually walking towards the vending machine, Jean reached into his pocket and gathered his change. He put in enough cash for any soda and then came the hard part: which to drink?

"Hmm... which... one..." Jean mumbled as he hovered his finger left to right at each of the selections.

It was a torture! With her eyes peering toward the glass in front of her in discontent the girl pouted her cheeks toward her own reflection. This human creation most likely only served to test the patience of humans and to laugh them out once they gave up. It didn’t matter how long she had been standing in front of that glass machine that held so many tasty looking stuff it just wouldn’t open itself and give her something. Even worse was that every now and then a person would interrupt her, go to the machine and command it to open and the machine would give some of its treasure… It was a machine that was against Beastkin! After having seen the last person who commanded the machine take off the girl once more closed in toward the machine and raised her hand toward it before poking it slightly with her finger. It was so annoying that it only reacted to other people and just ignored her for no reason. Finally having gotten enough of the mockery the machine held against her the girl walked back into the train station.

Train stations seemed just like how tribe squares were for her. Lots of people would gather there, talk a bit and then head away to another place, never stopping the flow of their actions. Yet she found something less charming about those train stations. The trains, giant metal monsters that would eat lots of people into its stomach and then run away and at another station it would spew out the people it eaten and those people were left unhurt! At least the horses back home were cuter and friendlier…

“That’s a small drinking cask…”

Muttering softly her own amazement the eagle girl saw a nearby boy holding a small can but when he suddenly lifted it and tried to pour a bit more of the liquid the can contained into his mouth he was found left dry, something that made the girl feel a bit amused. See that having larger drinking casks was better! Not only were they great to contain lots of water but they were easy to refill. Actually watching the boy trying so desperate to get a final droplet was a rather amusing sight so when he suddenly walked away Touka found herself driven by her curiosity to follow him. His destination? The mocking machine…

Gazing curiously toward the boy Touka wondered what sort of tactic he would use to make the machine finally react, something she failed in so far but to her own amazement the boy took forth some small coins and stuffed it into the machine! Was… Was he feeding the machine?! Was that the secret behind the mocking machine? Her hours of waiting were for that answer? Somehow it truly had came to her as a shock and as the boy was left to ponder what he would buy the girl had stepped next to him and gazed toward the machine in awe, muttering softly.

“So you have to give it bait for it to release its treasures? It truly was a monster after all… Human machines are scary also….”

What to choose, what to choose... It was a crucial decision for Jean to make, seeing as how this next beverage would have the sole duty of quenching Jean's thirst for the next half hour or so. Should it be water? No, that's too simple and the gig gets boring quick. Perhaps some coffee? Something nice and warm is always a treat, but not for this situation. The heavy dose of caffeine wouldn't sit too well with Jean's intentions of standing around and looking about aimlessly, nor would his stomach really appreciate it later on. Then there was the sports drink. Sweet but salty at the same time, energizing and it simply suited Jean's taste. The only drawback? Jean heard a while back on the news that numerous reports of obesity linked to these sports drinks. Of course, those people who consumed the drink regularly did not partake in any physical activity, but Jean worried still.

"I know! I'll have..." Jean's finger changed its usual pattern of floating left and right and instead darted forward. CLICK! The machine then followed with a spectacular show of rotating the selected drink from its place, twisted and twirled it around, then slowly made its way to the exit. Jean reached his hand for his drink and as he expected, a nice cold Cherry Cola with some weird advertisement with some cute-looking cartoon tiger on it. With a smile, Jean brought his other hand to the cap and prepared to pop it, but then an unfamiliar voice broke his concentration.

"“So you have to give it bait for it to release its treasures? It truly was a monster after all… Human machines are scary also….”

Jean spazzed for a brief moment, opening the can a little bit harder than it should have been. Soda spewed out from the tiny hand-held tin can, fizz spraying everywhere--even on the stranger. "Waaghhhh!!!" Jean turned around to face the girl after controlling the rebellious beverage. Cola had splattered over his sweater and loose jeans, with a couple drops on the right side of his face and in his hair as well. To prevent the fizzy aggressor from invading the land known as Jean's right eye, Jean closed it and scrunched his eyebrow and cheek together to form a defense. With his left eye, he looked at the girl and with a puzzled and defeated look spoke with an unsure and uneasy tone, "What...uhhh... Hi? Ha ha..."

What a bad luck… Maybe it was because she had grown curious by the boy’s weird movements as he tried to open the can with his fingers the girl had decided to lean a bit closer in a attempt to caught a glimpse of what the boy was up to. When she suddenly heard a ‘click’ the girl was about to cheerfully congratulate the boy for unlocking the treasures but words had never came for suddenly a small geyser had shot out of the can. Yelping softly in surprise the girl backed away from the boy, blinking her eyes slightly before she shook her head slightly like a dog trying to dry its fur after having walked outside in the rain. It had truly been a weird experience for her. One moment a strange bubbling essence came out of the can and then POOF! A geyser of a weird colored drink had shot straight into her face. As if a drenched face was not enough her hair and ears had gotten wet in the process also! Continuing to shake her head slightly in hope to get it a bit drier the girl finally decided it was fruitless that way and used the sleeve of her jacket to clear off the remaining stuff.

“Uguu~ That’s even scarier than the machine… drinking flasks or casks, no matter what size shouldn’t spew like that, they aren’t fountains…”

Pouting softly about her own misfortune the girl gently tried to clean up the feathers of her ears, that to her own horror felt sticky thanks to the juice… The outside world indeed seemed to had become a scary place. When she suddenly heard the boy speak to her in a uneasy tone the girl shot a glance toward him before all of sudden she revealed a finely crafted wooden flask, somehow resembling the way a sake bottle would have been before the girl spoke in a cheerful voice.

“It might only be apple juice but at least it won’t spew into your face like your drink did~ Also I made them from fresh apples myself so it should be tasty enough~”

Smiling softly the girl handed over the flask toward the boy before returning her focus toward herself, seemingly still troubled by her own partly soaked body. Must had been ill fortune the only pair of clothes she had with her after leaving her home to be her old tribe clothes and the school uniform she received earlier. Yet there was something more troubling… Her ears would have been difficult to be returned to their former ‘glory’. Finally deciding it was fruitless to continue the girl looked back toward the boy and asked in a worried tone.

“It couldn’t be that the monster was pulling a prank on you right?”

For once, Jean actually felt somewhat guilty for the girl. It was strange, as Jean's work as a clown required him only one emotion: happiness. He took off his sweater and rolled it up to squeeze what soda he could out of it. Even Jean was a bit amazed at the sheer volume of liquid that shot out of the small can. At least it tasted good!

"Sorry about that! You startled me and I--" Jean froze as he brought his gaze from his soaked sweater to the girl's face. Of course he was looking at her before, but this time he noticed something different.

“Uguu~ That’s even scarier than the machine… drinking flasks or casks, no matter what size shouldn’t spew like that, they aren’t fountains…”
Jean's jaw dropped as he watched with amazement this girl cleaning the feathers of her ears, offer him some apple juice, and then saw the situation as a prank from some monster. Wait. What?

She was cleaning the feathers on her ears! What!?

Jean's eyes opened wide and like a zombie, walked even closer to the girl. "Are those real?" Jean asked as he ignored her generous gesture of handing him her own home-made apple juice. Jean began to walk circles around the girl with sharp eyes, gazing at her ears and never letting loose his death grip of a stare. He couldn't believe it! Here was this decently cute-but-not-Jean's-type-exactly girl whom he just suddenly managed to spray with his soda. She spoke in a weird manner and was just down-right adorable when she offered Jean her apple juice. Was this really happening?! Jean couldn't believe his eyes. It was the first time he's ever seen one in person! Jean took in a deep breath and gathered his courage before asking his question.

"Judging from the way you talk and your ears..." he hesitated for a bit, not sure if he should ask the next part, "Are you an otaku?"

Maybe it was because she was still a bit startled from the experience she had just a moment ago that caused Touka to accidently not pay any notice to the boy’s surprise. Truly in times like this she often wished the past wouldn’t have changed and she had still been home without having to worry about humans or about her ears getting stuck together by soda. Yet she sadly had already grown mature enough to understand the past couldn’t, or shouldn’t be changed and as cruel as it might had seemed so did everything have a purpose, including having her escape into the outside world while everyone else would become imprisoned. When finally, like a movie that had its sound came out a while after the scene already pasted on the screen the girl suddenly came to realize the boy had said something and smiled weakly in response. It might had been true that she was partly at fault for approaching him from behind but he had equally surprised her, or maybe even doubled the efforts for having a first encounter with a soda geyser certainly wasn’t something the poor girl had ever expected to happen.

“Mhm?”

Hearing the boy ask something, the content of the question going by unheard thanks to herself returning to a more absent cheerfulness she suddenly found herself taken back a little when the boy shot a stare toward her. Something, she wasn’t sure what but something made her feet shuffle backwards a little, as if trying to guarantee they had a path for escape ready. The stare of the boy, or maybe the strange slow way he came closer reminded her of those humans she didn’t want to remember. Creators… They always walked at a very slow pace, most likely because they found themselves too highly to get tired of enslaving her race. Yet that stare that was filled with curiosity but at the same time held a intensity that made her spirit itself shiver as if being exposed to those eyes.

Like a detective trying to put pressure in questioning his eye-witness, that must had been how Touka felt as the boy slowly walked circles around her, his stare not leaving her for a moment. Something in the back of her mind told her it troubled her, no it even made her feel a bit scared but at the same time she felt worried as if she had done something wrong. Was it that wrong of her to ask that boy how he defeated that mocking machine so easily? Could it have been he was offended she gave him a drinking cask of Beastkin-make? Something just didn’t seem right… Was there really something she had done wrong, or did she insult him in any way she didn’t realize yet? Yet the answer to the many questions that nagged her mind were soon answered when the boy had asked her another question.

“Ota-Ku? Is that some sort of food?”

Curiously tilting her head toward the side the animal girl slowly started to think what in the world that strange word the boy just spoke could have been. Actually humans had a lot of strange words didn’t they? Of course even their food had weird names at times so it could have been that this Ota-Ku thing was maybe a sort of recipe only known to local residents of this city? Or maybe it even was a very legendary food sample only old sages knew about! Yet… Did she look like food? Somehow that question made her become both a bit mad and afraid at the same time, yet she replied with a soft smile.

“I’m not some sort of food~ My name is Touka, I’m someone from the Beastkin.”

*Ding*Dong*

"Next stop, Hyakuji Station. Next stop, Hyakuji Station"

Takeshi woke up from his short nap as the train's speakers blared their little message, at long last he had arrived in Hyakuji, his new work place. It was strange, you'd think someone with his college background would take a different kind of teaching position, but instead he opted for Gym here at Hyakuji. Even he found it odd, considering he was known as the smartest among all the 11 Kamen Rider's of the past with his IQ of 600 (I wish I was making this up).

But maybe it was because of the years he spent fighting. Over ten years of his life was dedicated to fighting Shocker and every organization that appeared after. His body had gotten used to being in action so much that it was hard for him to slow down. In all the thirty years when he stopped fighting, alongside BLACK RX and the other Riders, he could sit not still. He traveled the world, helping those who needed it, asking for no thanks in return, vanishing as quickly as he came.

It didn't help his body could not age nor die from it due to the modifications on his body by Shocker. He still looked like he did back in his college days, despite being roughly sixty years old by now. As such he always felt "in his prime", left with the feeling he could do more with it.

Maybe life here in Hyakuji would be different though. After the principal of the school contacted him out of the blue, he accepted, he didn't really care for the details. His only terms were that his life as a Kamen Rider remain secret until he wished to reveal it. He had heard the students here were much like him when he was younger, gifted and no longer able to lead a normal life due to it. He could pass down his experience to a younger generation, helping them cope with their gifts much like he had to all those years ago.

And so, the train came to a halt, the prerecorded messages that consisted of "This the Station, be careful getting off and making sure you have all your belongings" played as he slung his rather large bag over his shoulder and got off the train, taking a breath and looking onward into the distance: His new home and life were about to begin.

Of course, when he had reached the station proper, he began digging through his jacket pockets, only to realize one thing.

"...I left the map at old man Tachibana's place." he muttered, sighing in defeat. There was a reason why the semi-retired Rider did not take his bike with him here, he left it at the only garage he trusted with it for it's due maintenance, of which he could retrieve a little later, he was in no rush and apparently Hyakuji was a small place.

"This isn't good. I don't know my way around here." Takeshi mused aloud, scratching the back of his head. He must have gotten senile, despite looking young he was still sixty years old. As such he began walking around the station for a bit, maybe he could find an info booth or something...

But he was feeling a little thirsty, now that he thought about it. Sure he was a cyborg, but he still had human needs. As such he came across the set of vending machines, along with two teenagers apparently conversing about something. Well, it wasn't his business to interrupt them at the moment, it'd be rude to suddenly but in asking for directions.

Though, despite him having dealt with Kaijin and other humanoid monsters, he couldn't help but quirk an eyebrow at the girl there. Wings for ears? Hyakuji really was different, more so since the other guy didn't seem to mind.

And so, the man just put a coin in one of the machines and pressed a button, a can of soda dropping down soon after. He grabbed it and opened it before taking a sip. Nothing like a drink after a long train ride.

Food? Ota-Ku was food? Hearing this come from this girl was a bit odd, but Jean simply over-looked it. "Of course not, an otaku is... well, a way of life." Jean shrugged and walked even closer to the girl tilting his head in the same direction so he could be eye-to-eye with her. He reached his arms out and placed his hands on her cheeks to slowly and softly tilt her head back to normal position. "That's one weird kind of introduction, Touka-lady." Jean tilted his head back as he reached into his pocket and took out a small little clown's horn, glorious red with the pride of clowns.

Jean gave it a little honk and displayed his great white smile. "Jean Hardy, part-time waiter, full-time clown." It was corny and a bit random, but Jean didn't matter. He also caught a few stares not only because he was talking to a girl with weird feathers on her ears, but because he actually introduced himself with a clown horn. That nasally more-annoying-than-a-goose's-honk caused several passersby to pause and stare, then continue on with their lives.

Jean skipped the common practice of completing his introduction with a hand shake or a hug and dove right past the awkward barriers and brought his hands to the girls wings. Perhaps he may have been mistaken for violating the young girl, but his hands were rubbing her ears left and right. "Woah. These feel so real! Where did you buy these? They're pretty authentic and professional-looking!" Jean did have a habit of being oblivious sometimes. Even though Touka had already told Jean that her ears were real, he instantly doubted her and proceeded to touch them.

This… Even for the few experiences the girl already had in the human world this truly had reached another level when it came to weirdness. Suddenly feeling the strange boy put his hands on her cheeks, gently pulling her head back the girl continued to gaze toward him as he commented her on her weird introduction. To be honest when she heard that a tingle of amusement made her wonder how she should have described his actions, yet decided to keep back any remarks out of politeness when she suddenly saw the man pull out a red colored horn and make a rather remarkable introduction. It seemed their introductions had been equal in weirdness in her opinion. So he was a clown? That was rather interesting… She knew what a clown was but somehow it felt different to actually meet one in person. Sure they had some silly pranksters and comedians back in her sociality but a clown was yet a entire different thing. It was like a embodiment of silliness! Yet it seemed that the clown his introduction was only the start of some rather weird development for she soon found the clown pull his hand back toward her and started rubbing her ears.

“Kya!”

A soft yelp escaped her as she felt her body squirm slightly, her arms squalling in a childish mannerism as her ears twitched in response to the caressing they received. Why was this already the second time in such a short moment her ears felt victim to the curiosity of humans?! Not only that but it was only during childhood! Only when she was a child it was normal for her parents and a few other close family members to caress them since it felt good and made her sleep easy but it was a strange thing to do against a adult! As she heard Jean comment more about her ears the girl continued to weakly try to safe her ears from the caressing.

“Uguu~ Y-you a-are born with those, you can’t buy something like that—Uguu~ That tickles.. S-Stop it~”

Speaking in a soft voice the girl attempted to satisfy Jean’s curiosity by answering his questions, her speech often interrupted by a soft ‘Uguu~’ when she suddenly noticed a nearby man had conquered the mocking machine also! Could it have been both he and Jean were perhaps secretly monster ranchers?! Seeing a chance to get saved out of this extremely embarrassing and weird situation the girl trying to reach out a hand toward the man, just able to gentle tug the back of his jacket muttering in a soft voice.

“Uguu~ Please tell him my ears are real Monster rancher-san…”

"Ah, that's much better." Takeshi said aloud, he finished his drink rather quickly it seemed, and proceeded to crush the can rather effortlessly in his hands before tossing it into the nearby garbage can. He was mostly minding his own business really, though his modified hearing was allowing him to pick up the conversation between the two teens rather easily. Well, it was mostly a normal conversation it seemed, mostly about the girls ears, if they were real or not, that sort of thing.

His attention was gained however, when the girl suddenly "Kya'd", followed by the call for help and the tug at his jacket. This caused the man to turn around and face the two, and sure enough the boy had gotten too close to the girl and was now touching her ears in an attempt to find out if they were really real. While Takeshi himself was curious, he had a little more tact then this.

As such, he dropped his bag, and walked up behind Jean, looking deadly serious for the moment...but that faded as he soon popped Jean a grin, and placed a hand on the clown's shoulder. Jean was just being curious, no need to get mad now, right?

"I don't get the whole Monster rancher thing, but I can say they're definitely real judging by her reaction to your touch young man." Takeshi spoke in a friendly, yet still stern voice. "I'd suggest you stop, she doesn't seem to like it."

Jean became more and more oblivious to Touka's feelings as he continued scratching her ears and then caressing them. "Hahaha, that's awesome." and then Jean felt a hand take hold of his shoulder. This was when reality decided to kick in. An older man--not much older--gave the young clown a serious look and told the young man to stop touching Touka's ears. Jean's face turned a bit pale as he looked around to see the crowd staring at the group as well, drawn by the adorable Kyaa's and Gyaa's of Touka. He had the spotlight, but not like this.

Jean's draw dropped and his lips began to quiver in fear for a bit. He certainly had the spotlight--something that he always yearned for--but this wasn't what he wanted. He could hear their comments, as Jean's paranoia started placing speeches of people speaking ill of the boy, misunderstanding the situation. "What a pervert!" and "What a creep." All phrases and similar speeches Jean could hear in the whispers of the crowd, this was bad.

Jean took a step back as he became more and more aware. What next? What can he do to salvage this humiliation. As a clown, this was insulting! He was attracting the wrong kind of attention. Should he apologize? Maybe shrug it off as a joke? No. He was already approached by a complete stranger... AGH! It was frustrating!

For a brief moment, Jean displayed pure and utter defeat. He was in a bind and couldn't figure out a solution. He was a professional clown, but his age proved Jean naive. He cracked.

"HONK!" Jean replied, squeezing his horn once again. How awkward.

When Jean had finally stepped back, letting go of her ears Touka felt herself losing the strength in her legs as she slumped down onto her legs, her head lowered a bit while her hands instinctively covered her ears, her body trembling slightly from the strange sensation. She had just learned a very, very valuable lesion… Just like the mocking machine monsters were lured by bait so it seemed that some men were rather curious about her ears. Should she start wearing a cap or something? Who was she kidding… That would feel way too weird for her ears! Weren’t they considered the pride of a woman? That was what those girls in the village used to say but it started to look that rather than being pride her ears were being the bait of people’s curiosity! For a moment everything seemed to had turned hazy for her. The older man she called a rancher finally tried to explain to Jean that her ears were real, something that made Touka make a bitter smile that said ‘I was trying to say that the entire time’ but she remained silent, covering her ears in fear of a continuance of the earlier event.

There was something different with the sudden expression Jean had. Why was he the person that had turned scared? Oblivious to the whispers that had been going on around them she couldn’t even understand why it was him rather than her who had become scared? It wasn’t like the older man said anything threatening but yet Jean would proof his skill in surprising her once more when he suddenly gave his horn a squeeze and made a weird “Jonk” sound. For a moment the only thing the girl could do was blink in disbelief. Maybe it was the sudden way that the boy had made his actions, or their abstract way it caused her to be unable to understand the meaning behind them so in like a child searching advice from a elder she gazed upwards toward the man she had called for aid earlier with a expression that said “What now?”

Something had restored that unpleasant feeling she had earlier. While they were not exactly cast at her she felt the unpleasant tenseness in the air. The way the people looked as if they were watching from another world at them made her want to tell them not to look, something she was clearly too shy to do so but the older man should be able to do something right? He was so powerful that by putting a few coin-shaped food thingies in the machine it instantly surrendered its treasure to the stranger! The way he was able to handle the monster so easily, he had to be a monster rancher! She heard a lot of those humans who somehow possessed the ability to communicate or control monsters so that must had been his secret right? Yet she found that the silence had made her so nervous the girl ended up raising her hand once again, tugging gently against the older man his jacket before she pointed toward Jean, or rather his horn as she asked in a slightly hesitant voice.

“Is that a Ota-Ku?”

((hehe and so the roles were turned =P))

Well, that was one problem out of the way, Jean's harmless attack on the girl had ceased, but it seemed that she was a little tuckered out from being touched in what appeared to be a sensitive place. Well, no harm done at least, but apparently the clown's spirit was broken as the onlookers began commenting on the scene, hearing the insults that were thrown here and there.

And then Touka began looking up to him in a manner that asked him what they should do, which he only shrugged at first. He was never one to get into crowds nor mix well with them, perhaps it was the paranoia from dealing with Shocker. Still, they needed to get rid of the people, so at least Jean could be spared any more blows to his confidence. He knew it was harmless curiosity that caused this, but still.

'What would Hayato do right about now?' he thought, thinking about his more jovial friend, also known as Kamen Rider 2. Many a time has he been told to lighten up by his partner. With that, he began clapping a bit, as if trying to chase away the bad air.

"Okay, nothing to see here folks. We got things under control." he spoke up, giving everyone a smile. "My friend here got a little too curious for his own good, though who could blame him, right?" Takeshi continued, mostly joking and trying to change the atmosphere. It wasn't really working, but the crowd seemed to be moving away regardless.

Another tug at his jacket soon after, causing him to turn towards Touka, and she asked...a rather strange question. Otaku? The term used to describe someone who never leaves home? His definition of the word was rather dated, but he hadn't been in Japan too long to learn that it was now associated with a fan of a certain thing.

"I dunno miss, he doesn't look like someone who stays home and has no life." he replied simply, scratching the back of his head with his right hand. jean seemed strange being a clown and all, clowns are usually lively and outgoing, so him being an otaku is unlikely.

The older man's speech to the crowd sent a spear of bitter pain through Jean's heart. The young clown wanted to simply shout out "No, please don't misunderstand!" but nothing left his mouth. No sound echoed through his body and no action was taken. Jean stood there with wide open eyes and a lifeless posture. He stood there defeated with slouched arms. To add onto his injury were Touka's assumption that Jean was an otaku, and the stranger's description of what an otaku was. Each word, each glare, each whisper sent a barrage of painful spears through the beast that was known as Jean's pride.

No, not here. Not now. Jean couldn't be defeated. He was a clown for crying out loud! How could his resolve as an entertainer be so easily broken!? Those years of vigorous training, the excruciatingly painful times when nobody laughed at his jokes, Jean had endured too much to admit defeat now. Raise your spirits Jean! Make 'em laugh! The young man continued to force his morale up. There was no other choice. It was do or die for Jean!

"Of course I'm not an otaku!" He threw his clothes into the air and they landed over his face and body, covering up his transformation. In a giant explosion of smoke, Jean emerged with a different outfit. He had larger shoes, funky MC Hammer pants, and a face full of make up along with snow-white gloves. I'm a clown!" Out of his pocket, the clown somehow miraculously took out freshly baked whipped-cream pies and began twirling them on the tip of his fingers. He slowly walked to Touka and gave her a wink. He looked to the other man who had embarrassed him before and gave him a big bright smile.

"Say, do you guys like pie?" His engine was getting revved up.

When she heard Jean exclaim that he was not a Otaku she was finally about to ask that nagging question of what exactly a Otaku was then when she suddenly felt her hands instantly slid over her eyes when she saw the clown throw his clothes into the air. Aside from the sudden cloud of smoke that filled the sky something made Touka have a feeling of impending doom, a feeling that was quickly justified when Jean reappeared with the face of a monster! Something made the eagle girl yelp into surprise as she crawled back away a little. So that was the true season Jean was able to control the monster earlier? It wasn’t because he had used some sort of bait, nor because he possessed the ability to understand them just like the fact he wasn’t a monster rancher. Those weird pants… Those strange pair of gloves that were painted in a eerie white fashion and that strangely colored face… It was because he was a monster! So that was a clown-monster? Maybe those stories she heard as a child were true? Those weird looking creatures who tried to make you laugh and if you didn’t they… They… They would eat you!

Shiver in panic as the clown slowly made his approach Touka unconsciously searched for shelter behind the monster rancher. He was a monster rancher right? Then he should take care of that monster! She didn’t want to be eaten just because she didn’t understand his jokes! Wasn’t there such a things as laws? Didn’t she have the right not to be eaten?! Peeking from behind the older man his back the girl nearly instantly returned to her hiding place when she saw how close the clown had came, it had happened… Her mother and father… She wouldn’t be able to save anything now she was going to be eaten by a clown! A fear that was even intensified when she heard the Ex-Jean now turned clown monster ask if they liked pies.

Pies? Sure pies were tasty and all, especially apple pies but she didn’t like it when she was the main ingredient of the pie! He was going to mash her to pieces and turn her into a Beastkin pie? She might one day end up becoming a bakery trend but that wasn’t what she wanted! With her eyes wet from the gathering tears of fear the girl stuttered in a scared voice.

“P-Pies turn my ears sticky n-n-nor do I taste good s-so please don’t eat me or turn me into a pie mister clown monster…”

Gazing toward the clown from behind the back of the older man the eagle girl her ears twitched slightly in response while she nodded her own head, as if to confirm she would taste bad as a pie before hiding back behind the older man. The outside world truly was filled with many, often dangerous things in her opinion the idea of a clown turning her into a pie was the scariest she could ever imagine.
