When Trystan had answered the question that Touka had asked him her lips soon formed back into a bright smile. She was so glad that he had decided to help her. It might had been true that she only met him moments ago but at the other side he somehow reminded her exactly of how people were back in her own village. To put so much value into virtues like justice, to understand the pain and suffering of another, it were clearly things she never imaged a human to worry about, yet here was a human who had put such great importance in them! Rather than just asking him out of the blue she felt she had asked him, exactly because he was the only one she could ask this favor to. Soon after Trystan had asked her how he would be able to help her out the girl started her explanation, a slight tingle of pride in her voice. “Usually to enter a cosmosphere you need to be under a hypnotic spell, yet you can say that I mastered the ability to bring people into my cosmosphere while they are still awake. Actually it’s the person’s mind who enters my cosmosphere, comparable to how you would experience a dream perhaps? Still you should be careful Trystan, for while it might look like a dream it is in a sense a reality, so for example if you die inside the dream you most likely will never wake up over here…” Still she had heard the determination in Trystan’s voice earlier, and already knew that despite the potential danger he would not back off from this request, so it would only be rude to be hesitant herself. Taking a deep breath, as if to prepare herself for a great danger the girl whispered a soft apologize when all of sudden she embraced him, causing everything to begin. If one had to describe the sensation in words it most likely would have felt like surfacing after taking a deep dive into a lake. Yet at the same time the only thing that awaited Trystan was a void of darkness. Was this the darkness Touka mentioned? It did felt like the darkness would accept no intruders, yet it would be soon cast aside when in the distance a bright light flashed, like beacon being lit. Was something trying to guide Trystan out of those shadows? The answer would soon be given when finally light had penetrated the darkness, and soon had cast it away like one awakening from their slumber. Where previously had been nothing but darkness was now replaced by the pride of nature itself. Strong and mighty trees, rising as high in the sky as the eye could see and beautiful fields of flowers, left undisturbed in this newfound paradise. It was clearly noticeable that wherever Trystan was now clearly wasn’t the park he had been in just a moment ago. “I deeply apologize for the treatment you received a moment ago. I had judged you to be a intruder, yet your presence seems not unwelcome in here…” All of sudden from out of nowhere a calm and polite feminine voice was hearable, and the one who it belonged to was standing on top of a huge tree branch a few steps away from where Trystan would have been. The person was small, ridiculously small, having the frame of what could have belonged to a fairy, yet she seemed different. The girl was clad in a expansive looking pink kimono, adored with nicely drawn flower decorations. Actually the kimono looked quite natural with the long hair of the girl, that had shared the same color, yet the small pointy ears of the girl clearly betrayed she was not a human. “My name is Lycoris, the guardian of this place… And who might you? |

"Eh?" Trystan only managed to blurt out a short, unintelligible grunt of surprise before Touka closed the distance between them. His body relaxed as her hands wrapped around his torso, leaning forwards onto her body. His eyes remained open, a blank expression on his face as he stared at the general area in front of him. However, his mind had already started the dive. The world around him ground to a halt as his surroundings faded into an all-ecompassing black. It wrapped around him, seemingly pulling him back into a primordial state as he passed weightlessly through the darkness. However, he soon felt the darkness come to him, dragging him down and pummeling against his existence as a crushing wave, blasting the life out from within him. The darkness was such that it crawled within his very existence. It threatened to render him asunder. Was this the darkness that she had spoken of? However, he could not give up now. His spirit stubbornly resisted the drowning sensation he was feeling. He struggled, but to no avail. As he was about to pass out, a light came to his hazy vision, gradually breaking apart the darkness and pulling him back up into friendlier waters. As the relief sunk in, his vision blanked out into a soft blankness. When he opened his eyes again, a sweeping blue sky was spread in front of him. Dotted with wind-blown clouds, the atmosphere expanded as far as the eye could see, with not a single building blotting out the sky. The sun shone down from above, its light coming in from between the branches and leaves around him. The warmth comforted him, gently warming him once more. The effects of the darkness had been entirely melted away. He sat up, taking a look around him. He was surrounded by an expanse of trees, each large and lush beyond what he had ever seen on earth. He was reduced to a mere speck compared to their strength and majesty. Suddenly, a feminine voice from above came to his ears. "I deeply apologize for the treatment you received a moment ago. I had judged you to be a intruder, yet your presence seems not unwelcome in here…” Looking up, his eyes found the source of the voice. A small being with a humanoid feminine appearance was sitting up in a nearby tree. She was dressed in an elegant kimono dotted with various embroideries of flowers. On first glance, it appeared excessive. However, on the girl, the dress seemed to be have been made especially for her alone. However, despite her appearences, she was clearly not a normal human; her pointed ears was more than clear enough on this point. “My name is Lycoris, the guardian of this place… And who might you be?" Putting up both of his hands in a traditional chinese salute, with his left hand over his right, Trystan bowed slightly, then responded. "Guardian Lycoris, my name is Yamato Trystan, a friend of Touka Aquilla." |

Silently the emerald green eyes of the guardian stared toward the intruder, as if she was trying to judge him from his mannerisms before she suddenly shook her head slightly. Slowly the air around her started to disorientate and when a soft breeze blew across the forest she had already disappeared, just to reappear standing with her back against the base of the tree she had used a moment ago. Gazing upwards for a moment the girl suddenly nodded her head slightly before focusing her attention back toward Trystan, speaking in a calm even-toned voice. “A friend of Touka you say? I believe you might mean a receiver of her kindness… Of course the truth behind your bond with her all depends on the future, or else your presence here would have no meaning. The world you see around you is not exactly her own, rather it could be considered a malfunction. This world doesn’t belong to Touka, but to the darkness within her. What are you searching, and what will you find? I can’t tell the destination to your journey but I can provide you with some information…” Slowly the guardian made her way over to Trystan, before suddenly stopping right before him, turning around and pointing her hand into the distance. Far in that direction one could see that the sun slowly was starting to settle, and that shadows were seen moving, revealing the presence of other people, or creatures… “This is the night before the betrayal… Will you find the answer to the questions Touka always wanted to ask? What will you do when you know the future already? Will you end up saving those destined to die? But more importantly is that you should remember this… A great battle is ahead of you, and the answers you seek might be found in someone deemed a enemy by circumstances.” |

What are you searching, and what will you find? I can’t tell the destination to your journey but I can provide you with some information…” Trystan stood silently, taking in what Lycoris had just said. Touka had told him that this cosmosphere was a reality within her mind, a manifestation of her inner self. If the Guardian of such a place just told him that this world in front of him belonged to the darkness within Touka, then this darkness was formidable indeed. To have cut itself into her heart so deeply that it could create a seperate world of its own, what was this darkness that afflicted her so strongly? “This is the night before the betrayal… Will you find the answer to the questions Touka always wanted to ask? What will you do when you know the future already? Will you end up saving those destined to die? But more importantly is that you should remember this… A great battle is ahead of you, and the answers you seek might be found in someone deemed a enemy by circumstances.” Hearing her questions, Trystan looked down at his fists. His gloved hands clenched themselves tightly. How many times had he looked upon his own two hands? How many times had he had he faced decisions of life and death, with no other options than to wager on his own body? It was for times like these that he had trained his body. It was all for the sake of Great Justice. There was neither the time to have doubts, nor did he have the luxury of doing so. "Let the circumstances speak for themselves, for Great Justice takes but one path, and that is the Truth." |
