Sennera Board Rules

I feel like it is time that I put Sennera properly to nap for now; some things made me feel guilty about not letting it go properly. I kind of just up and left it; I have trouble dealing with confrontation. I'm a giant wuss.

I say to nap, and not to rest, because I do not feel like I can entirely drop this this world that I came up with. The thing is that I just cannot deal with it at this current time so it is going on hiatus; for how long, I'm not sure, but I just could not keep up after things picked up again at the roleplay I've been an admin for since 2007.

Hopefully I might be able to shape myself up on the other site I help run so that sometime in the future I may come back to this project. When that time comes, a mass e-mail will be sure to go out.

Rules borrowed and tweaked for Sennera with permission from our good friends at HR. IC Rules [1.] It is recommended that you put in a Name Change request for your characters first and last e.g John Smith or Judy Garland. No usernames e.g. Draco4eva, to be used in RP. If you are a staff member, you may add in your appropriate title. You will have to remember this name because it will become your login name. Why only first and last? Spoiler: click to toggle - Middle names should not be in your username because you don't normally give out your middle name in real life to strangers, do you? So why would your character? - Nicknames should not be in your username because they are something you give out explicitly to friends when you introduce yourself. They are not commonly used in the general scheme of things. [2.] If you do not post a character application within three weeks from joining, your account will be deleted. This does not stop you from creating a new account, we just do this to reduce account clutter and to encourage those who are serious to stick around. Your account will never* be deleted for inactivity if you have a character bio approved and have a single RP post under your belt.* [3.] Try to maintain proper grammar and spelling as best as you can, since this is a semi-literate to literate roleplay. [4.] Try to describe! Rather than saying just 'Hey Jim, how are you', go into detail e.g. Mary was feeling slightly worried about seeing Jim today, and felt a jolt in the stomach when he came into view. 'Hey Jim, how are you?' She asked nervously, feeling her cheeks warm in awkwardness. Basically, no one liners. [5.] Try not to post in ALL CAPS, especially in thread titles. [6.] You may indicate in a thread title whether it is closed to some other member or house if you do not want others to participate. Do not post in someones thread if you are not allowed in before at least asking the thread owner first. [7.] This site is PG-13. We encourage you to let no situation go unplayed but to also use discretion. No graphic sex scenes or the likes of that. Also, no F-bombs and other overtly foul language; only language such as that used by Ronald in the Harry Potter books is allowed. Fade to blacks are allowed. [8.] Controversial issues such as abortion, cutting, anorexia/bulimia, rape, incest, pedophilia and so on have no place here. [9.] Killing and use of Unforgivable Curses are allowed with both Staff and the other players consent only, and as long as you aren't spending lots of graphic, bloody, painful paragraphs on it. [10.] Slash (homosexuality) within the RPG as a plot point or as a characters sexual orientation is allowed. (No discussing if it is right/wrong, good/evil...etc.) [11.] Threadjacking and godmoding are NEVER allowed without consent of your RP partner. Otherwise don't even dare. - Threadjacking and Godmoding Explanation - Spoiler: click to toggle - Threadjacking is taking over a thread with a subject unrelated to the original posting. An example of Threadjacking would be someone posting a message related to an online music service that someone turns into a discussion about music devices (such as iPods) without starting a new thread. As such, the original posting under the subject of "Online Music Subscription Services" is now a discussion about iPods, Dell Jukeboxes, and Zen devices. These new postings under the original thread are completely unrelated to the intended subject. Godmoding is a term used in message board based role-playing games to describe two poor behaviors of players. Sometimes spelt as "godmodding" in reference to the god-like powers of moderators, godmoding is almost always frowned upon by other members of the game, because it is regarded as a form of cheating against the game's tacit rules. Godmoding can also refer to the case where a player definitively describes the outcome of their own actions against another character or interactive object. For example, if player A states, "A strikes B and B takes damage", they could be considered to be godmoding. Another example of this might be where a character is facing multiple enemies, and they redirect one foe's attack onto another. For example, Player A states, "B misses A completely, and strikes C instead." Similarly, controlling characters that belong to someone else is also a form of godmoding. EXAMPLE OF WHAT NOT TO DO: Player A: Character A throws a punch at Character B. Player B: Character B dodges the attack, grabs Character A and throws him out of a stained glass window. Character A flies at Character B, who warps behind him and slashes Character A in the back. [12.] The language in the threads MUST be predominately English. If you want to throw in a couple of foreign words during your RP, that's fine. However if we find out you're using curse words, you'll not be allowed to post in anything but English. [13] There is no rule 13. [14.] No netspeak ('how r u' and the like) in RPs. Also, please make use of the spell check, it only takes a minute. OOC Rules No posting in ALL CAPS, which includes thread titles. No spamming. This means no unnecessary double posts and no bumping unless the topic is off of the front page. We don't care about post count here. This is PG-13 site, as are all ZetaBoards. We encourage discussion and being yourself but please keep excessive cursing and sexually explicit anything to a minimum. Posting any offensive images, porn, or erotica = instant permanent ban. Controversial issues such as abortion, cutting, anorexia/bulimia, rape and so on have no place in the OOC. Discriminatory, hateful and/or harmful speech will not be tolerated. This mostly goes for any issue on the traits of a human being, ie. race, religion, background, sexual orientation, gender identity, etc. Threadjacking is very rude. If someone made a thread asking a question, don't try to use it to ask yours. This is not comparable to going off-topic, which is sometimes likely to happen. The language in discussion threads MUST be predominately English. No exceptions. Please, for the love of all that is sacred, do not use Netspeak in discussion. [Ex: "how r u? i liek chz, do u?"] It hurts to read, and if you're using Netspeak then why are you on a literate RP board? These rules are subject to change at any time.
