Araedoth got me thinking...

I started the Araedoth RP a few days ago, and although I've never actually been LARPing (Live Action RPing) before, I know the general size of the gatherings, and there's very few places that actually have the funding or capacity to create a full environment that is ongoing and fixed. I wonder if a LARP park ever could succeed, and what it'd be like.

Aaaagh I really want to go Larping now. But yeah, have any of you been larping? and do you know any huge larps?

Plus; How were you introduced to RPing?

There are versions of it. For one, paintball and air soft courts set up scenarios like that. More specifically on the like of RPs, there is a place in NH that does exactly that. It is called Holodeck.

If you are looking for something smaller, which wont destroy your wallet, check with your local comic shop. Sometimes they will have events.

The best LARPING evar!
Too bad the one 'round here got closed before I could ever go to it.

But it's so expensive, a LARP park would have to be created by the obscenely rich.

true... but what if it started out all tiny and cute and self sufficient. Like the people made a living growing veg and making craft stuff and that, and charging like £5 for someone to come and RP the day there. ^_^

LARPing was my introduction to role play about 7 years ago and I am still an avid LARPer.

The first game I ever played was a fantasy boffer game that took place one weekend a month. I loved every moment of it and played for a couple years.

Currently, I run airsoft LARP campaigns with my husband, which have been a tremendous amount of fun! Over the past couple years we've done modern military games, science-fiction, post-apocalyptic, zombie horror and even G.I. Joe!

Tessandra... I will admit daydreams of setting up a LARP park. ;)

If anyone is interested in checking out some other LARP games (or need a place to advertise your own LARP), check out the LARP Network link in my sig!

Never joined in a LARP, but I can report that even in belgium there are large LARP's being held, based on vampire: the masquerade.
I happened to be pulled near a group of LARPers, the evening ended with a game of .. very realistic... Werewolving[...]

I am currently doing research for just such a project (that's how I found this site ;) ).

Assuming that money is no object (I'm NOT insanely rich as was so eloquently put, I merely have several ideas), please allow me to pose some questions:

1. What do you LIKE about LARPing?

2. What do you DISLIKE about LARPing?

3. If a LARP park were to be built, how much would you be willing to spend (please use U.S.D., if at all possible) for:

A. A day pass?
B. A week's pass?
C. A month's pass?
D. A yearlong pass?
E. A lifetime pass?

4. If an "Inn" were present, how much per night would you be willing to spend for a night's stay?

5. If housing were available in the form of apartments (flats), would you move there and live there all the time?

6. How long would you like for a LARP session to last?

7. Would you participate in LARP sessions if they were offered at midnight (to set the mood)?

8. Would your "Character" (you) explore "sewers and caves" or remain strictly above-ground?

9. Would you like to see an entire city? Or would you prefer movable structures?

10. Lastly, would you consider becoming an employee (living and working on the premises)?

Please DON'T answer these questions here, instead, please direct your answers to pathwoodinfo@gmail.com

SPECIAL NOTE FOR THE ADMIN: If I overstepped my bounds by making this my first post, please forgive me and don't ban me or label me an ASS. :'(
