The Army of Light is a classic fantasy story set in present day (AS 1801) Enevia. Like ShoopDaWoop I've used Spoilers to make viewing easier. There are Elves, Dwarves, Dragons, Humans, Orcs and Trolls. Aswell as the shadow army and bandits, beastmen, ghouls etc.

Races
Spoiler: click to toggle The Humans After the Great Schism and the Elves retreated into the great coastal forest of Elinor, the humans began to prosper. After thousands of years they now live across Enevia and the 3 kingdoms of Espaldar, Sandspire, and Brance. The humans worship their goddess Dalya and celebrate her life-giving at the festival of the stars. The human priests of Dalya study the elemental powers of the word.
The Dwarves The enigmatic Dwarves are almost as old as the elves, after the Great Schism they went into hiding in their cavernous mountains and labyrinthine tunnels in the Skyfell Mountains of northern Enevia. They worship the Great Dwarf and their Rune-casters are very powerful mages. Their Dwarf-forged weapons are revered across Enevia as some of the finest weapons in the entire realm.
The Elves 1801 years ago the Elves ruled the entirety of Enevia, save Rhaegora and the territory of the Dragons. Their power was un-matched, their magical prowess meant that they were like Gods on this Earth. Then there was the Schism. No one actually knows what exactly happened, all historians know is that half of the Elven population ceased to exist and the rest went into hiding in Elinor, their powers severely depleted. The Ancient Sylvanian Empire had ended.
Present day Elinor hasn't seen Elves for over a thousand years, most of the human populace doesn't know of their existence. Deep within the magical forest of Elinor, the elves have become one with nature. The elven Druids are adept at all forms of magic, using texts recovered from the Ancient Empire the elven mages the most powerful in Enevia. The Elven bow-masters are the most skilled in all of Enevia, and their fletchers create the strongest bows with the longest range.
The Orcs and Trolls As long as there has been Humans, there has been Orcs and Trolls though they've had a much more conflicted past. In AS 200 the green-skinned prince Raa'mor started a coup when he insulted the blue-skinned Big Man Nor, the prince was subsequently found with a spear in his back one day after he didn't return from his hunting trip. King Nozug Gra'mor announced a blood feud with Big Man Nor, thus began the Orcish-Trollian War. Generations later the war still goes on, ignorant of the truth behind it.

Your Character
Spoiler: click to toggle Your Character
Your character should be any first tier class from either the Dwarven, Human or Elven Races. For the moment only one character per player, and you should name your character in the following format: <First Name> <Class><Title>, for example - Alekaya, Priest of the Sandspire Kingdom or Delak, Druid of Elinor.
Also, if you could provide a description of your character's background including why your character wants to join/joined the Army of Light along with a mug-shot then that will help other players get an insight into your character's personality and make a better overrall roleplay. I will provide sheets of mug-shots that you can re-colour yourself.
