Technology may be just a little more advanced than most people believe it to be. It all depends on how you use what you can buy in stores, and how you access certain parts. This is the age of information where those with the best connections and access to goods thrive, while the ignorant blissfully live without knowing just how much their lives can change with the push of a few select buttons. As with almost anything else, the harder it is to get a hold of something, the more it is worth. Even if what you want isn’t quite tangible. Many powerful figures would like to have vast networks to get what they want quickly and quietly, but the more people they connect to, the bigger their chances of betrayal and unwanted consequences. Underlings may be spies and friends can sell out as enemies, the closer a person is, the more damage they can cause. And so, people like these need a third figure, perhaps more than one. In fact, there is a certain group in the underworld just perfect for the job. They are people who are capable of gathering all sorts of information, illegal goods, and are willing to risk life-and-limb to remain loyal, just as long as their employers remain the highest bidders. Welcome to DAREAL An organization composed of the world’s best hackers, con artists, and many other professions. If there is something needed in the underworld, DAREAL will be happy to provide. Their rates are steep and any members themselves are to keep limited contact with clients at all times, but they are definitely worth every million dollar you hand over. But something seems to be happening within this organization surrounded by paranoia. No one had thought it possible, but DAREAL has been broken into. Someone is leaking information from within REAL; private client information is spread, the information members obtain for clients get leaked faster than they get delivered and several members themselves have become MIA. The Roleplay I'd say that this RP probably takes place around the mid/late 21st century. This means that is a little more advanced than what we have now, so you can get a little creative with your gadgets and what-nots, but not overly advanced in a way that people have figured out ways to live on the Moon and such. The setting is in an urban city known as 'Rosshire'. It's a gigantic capital city with places from ghettos to high-class residential areas. The headquarters of DAREAL lies here, or to be exact, parts of the headquarters are spread out in this city (e.g. some of their computers may be hidden away in an office building while others are in an underground lab, their meeting places change frequently as well). There are two main roles: 1. DAREAL Member – You are one of the many members of DAREAL. You take orders from the higher ups without hesitation and excell greatly in a particular skill. Now, added to the regular jobs you get from the odd clients, you have a top propriority, on-going mission: find the enemies of DAREAL and get rid of them. 2. Unknown Enemy – You are one of the ‘parasites’ that have managed to latch themselves onto the biggest and most powerful organization on Earth, you probably have skills which can parallel or even exceed that of the DAREAL members. You have two important tasks: stay alive and undetected, destroy the DAREAL from the inside out. You can also take any other roles, just as long as you make sure that you can remain part of the RP (e.g. ordinary civilian that somehow got caught in all this, a corrupt politician, etc…). Please post the character profile below and wait for approval. IMPORTANT! PM me if you wish to be a DAREAL member or a part of the unknown enemy (and include your role in that particular group; e.g. hacker, bodyguard, security guard, con artist, get-away driver, etc… Be creative!), DO NOT post it here in the OOC (yet).
