Thank you, my dearest love! Amazing post by the way too!! LOVE YOU!! Anywho... if anyone talks or sees any of the others, please let them know that if they don't post by the end of the week, their character will be freely given to another. Mean I know, but I would rather see this roleplay through and not have it die just because some one does not believe they should post. |

Pride would not have been my first choice, but I will definitely take it. Give me a couple of days to read over the thread and come up with how I want to handle my character. Kyle and I have a lot to do over the weekend before we get married, but I know I'll have time to sit at my laptop and read here and there. |

Life is still not calm at all, but I really want to get back into writing. Don't want you to think I've forgotten about you! I am finally taking a breather tomorrow after work. I'll work on this then if nothing comes up. EDIT: It doesn't look like anyone posted a bio, so I'll just post when I get a few minutes tonight (tonight being Thursday 6/11). I am totally going to revamp Pride and ignore the posts Colton made already. I hope that's okay! This article from Wikipedia makes me a little more excited about being Pride. =] Pride is bad ASS! "Pride In almost every list Pride (Latin, superbia), or hubris, is considered the original and most serious of the seven deadly sins, and indeed the ultimate source from which the others arise. It is identified as a desire to be more important or attractive than others, failing to acknowledge the good work of others, and excessive love of self (especially holding self out of proper position toward God). Dante's definition was "love of self perverted to hatred and contempt for one's neighbor." In Jacob Bidermann's medieval miracle play, Cenodoxus, pride is the deadliest of all the sins and leads directly to the damnation of the titulary famed Parisian doctor. In perhaps the best-known example, the story of Lucifer, pride (his desire to compete with God) was what caused his fall from Heaven, and his resultant transformation into Satan. In Dante's Divine Comedy, the penitents were forced to walk with stone slabs bearing down on their backs in order to induce feelings of humility. Vainglory Vainglory (Latin, vanagloria) is unjustified boasting. Pope Gregory viewed it as a form of pride, so he folded vainglory into pride for his listing of sins. The latin term gloria roughly means boasting, although its English cognate - glory - has come to have an exclusively positive meaning; historically, vain roughly meant futile, but by the 14th century had come to have the strong narcissistic undertones, of irrelevent accuracy, that it retains today[11]. As a result of these semantic changes, vainglory has become a rarely used word in itself, and is now commonly interpreted as referring to vanity (in its modern narcissistic sense)." I finally figured out what the name of this forum was!!! Wow, really sorry about that. I just didn't save it in my favorites and forgot about it. So, I'm probably kicked out, huh? |
