(( I'll grab a few people from some of the other rps and see if they'd like to join. ))

Ruth was already gone by the time James woke up that morning. Sleep was a near constant hibernation for him and it relaxed his overworked mind. He sniffed the air and a gentle grin slipped over his lips as he caught the whiff of eggs, bacon, and ham. Where would I be without Ruth? James asked himself as he got up and dressed himself in his normal wear and tear.

Jogging down the stairs from his bedroom, he pushed open the kitchen doors and saw that Ruth had set up a plate, glass, and silverware for breakfast. Always so thoughtful, he thought as he helped himself to a hearty breakfast.

-------

Ruth ran her fingers through her long blonde hair, walking down the streets to the grocery store. Living with an always hungry wolf, she knew that they would be out of food sooner or later, well... food that didn't need hunting. People called out to her as she passed storefronts and she waved her greetings.

"And unto the forest I call," she sang softly under her breath. Her words floated on the wind as it blew across her and carried the scent of freshly baked bread and chicken. Her eyes closed slightly as she slowed to enjoy the gentle breeze.

"Hello, Ruth. How's things with James?" a male voice asked and brought a soft snarl from her.

"Go on, Jadin," she growled and opened her eyes to push past the much older tiger.

"I thought I'd drop by and let you know that your family misses you," he called out behind her.

"I said go away," she called back and didn't stop. She hurried through the rest of her shopping and started on her way back to where she parked her car.

--------

James finished his breakfast and began cleaning up the dishes. Opening the back door to the kitchen, he let the slightly chilly air surround the house. He enjoyed the nice smell of forest and earth as much as he did being a wolf every once and awhile. The water was warm and flowed calmly over the soapy remains of grease from the bacon.

Finishing up, James curled up in his favorite chair and began to go over some of the work that he needed to finish before Ruth came home.
