Remember the times where kids got up and raced to the dining room just so they could get a hug and kiss from Mother and Father. Each amused and happily loved by the others? Where kids could go outside and fly solo or in groups playing for the day or when they could just go outside in general? Or how about when a child did something bad and the worse punishment they got was either a tap on the behind, finger or two to the backside of a palm, or just a “Don’t do that again.”? And how about when a young one got sick and the parents put all their love into making ‘em feel better any way possible? Me neither, but I’ve heard tales. It’s said that decades ago a scientist found a way to give abnormal abilities to people. This being deemed ‘super powers’. He took the claim to one of the upper levels in the confidential government. Yeah, me too. I hate secrets. Anyways, nobody believed or expected anything other than some poor sap to get a cold when they agreed to let him demonstrate on three normal human beings. The three were injected with a yellow liquid and set ‘free’. The scientist said, “We’ll wait a week and you’ll see.” He said, and everyone agreed. During that week the three were surprised at the rapid change in their bodies and at their new talents.. One, a female, now defines the term ‘hour-glass’ with knockers to suit. She also found out that she could orb items from one destination to the very palms of her hands, or even orb herself to another location. Second, a fat man now fits the slang version of ‘slim-jim’, also finding out that he could orb, but not in the same sense as the female. He could manifest orbs of water in his palms. Lastly, another male now stands as what truly defines ‘Chuck Norris’. His power? Why, strength, of course. The three were pleased and greedily expecting to get injected some more and met back at the same place with the Scientist and the unmentionable select few. The three demonstrated their powers before the maker and his alliances. Not only were the unmentionables astonished but so was the scientist. Never did he think things would develope this quickly. With this, everyone left and went to a much more private area, one below the ground.. There it’s said that the Scientist and government had arranged an agreement. They were to distribute the product and do the injection for a cost. $1,000,000,000.000. Each injection to be a small amount so no threat would come and if there was it could easily be dealt with. Each profit spent on the unmentionables’ own fantasies and greater multitudes of injections – The Scientist laughs, watching the very foundations of his plans be put together. With every ‘medicine’ comes its own flaws. Little did everyone that got injected know that they would soon greed for more. And when they couldn’t get any – some means were found to get it. The most common were to kill and lust. Kill a powered being and consume their powers essence. Lust and harbor or even gain newer powers that would one day spawn into a hell hole. The Scientist, aided by the greed’s of man brought hell to Earth and its destruction.. Some decades ago.. I have a dream of a scene between the green hills, clouds pull away, the sunlight’s reveal. People don’t talk about keeping it real. It’s understood that they actually will. Intoxicated and stimulated, staring in the trees paranoid. A land where the sands are made of crushed up wax. And the sky beyond you is crylon blue. – Meanwhile we pick up our arms. A bum whispers into the wind, “How would you feel if everybody acted like you didn’t exist? You’d lose your grip; eventually flip.” What’s real is the kids who know something’s wrong. What’s real is the kids who think they don’t belong. What’s real is the kids who are hiding in the shadows waiting for the sun. So let it be known that the only reason we do this is so that you can get up and play again. Dedicated to the kids. Now, we must all realize that there are 6 "Upholders of the Justice", if you will. Of course my character will play as one, leaving room for 5 more. These 6, rather than hunt the hunters due to all the attention it'd bring back on them went into hiding. Solo or paired with companion(s) is totally up to ya'll. However, each one of the Upholders are crested with a <variable> on their body. While the crested <variable> is a must see, for back-up purposes, they also carry a relic. Want more info on the relic, shoot a private message my way as to get details. As my.. "story-line" stated, this happened decades ago. As to how long is irrelevant - who has time to count that far back to get an accurate account when scavenging for food, shelter, and constantly having to watch your back? The economy has fallen so much that houses are barely houses and more times than not, a garbage disposal is cozier than trying to sleep in a semi-stable home. However, seeing as how everything started with the government, this also means those within' the government are the elite dogs and don't have to worry about food, shelter, etc as they've 200 miles of Heaven that is heavily guarded on all sides by "super soldiers". Those outside that 200 miles are hunted like dogs by both government officials and those on their own side. Why? To harvest power. Harvest power? Yes. When you kill a person, a sphere slowly rises from the fallen body and begins its ascent to the sky forever to be lost. However, if the killer or anyone else can get their hands on said sphere then they may consume it; this allows the killer to obtain the victims power. Consummation is done by: Swallowing or pressing through the chest. Swallowing is easier and less time consuming. View first post for: Appearance, Powers, and Age defining! Standard character sheet applies Name: Age: Gender: Appearance: Personality: Side: Government official or not Power(s): Try to just start with 1. If you think you need 2, then make the secondary a very, very weak abnormality Background: Write it here, incorporate it in your first few posts, or just don't do it if you don't feel it's a necessity. As far as your questions go, Tessandra: Supernatural cause explained in red. If more is needed, then just ask. ![]() These abnormal gifts/curses are only lost through death. Future, fantasy. Plot revolves around the usual Good and Bad trying to wipe out the other. If it helps any, the doctor did make a cure(Though those outside the guarded 200 miles may of heard this, but just by rumor. No proof yet found.). I do hope this answered almost everything you requested. If more is needed, then please, ask away~
