I'll only care when it actually hits. Until then it's just a theory. |

Just a man with a saw.

It's one of things that I want, but not something I'm truly anticipating. When it is released, hell yeah, I'll have some fun with it, but that's for when it's released. My excitement level won't increase unless they announce groundbreaking and spectacular, or it's a lot closer to release. Which may be sometime in 2011... |

So it's like Second Life, only people will actually use it? There's a ton of communities like this on the internet already, and they're all extremely boring after 15 minutes. |

Just a man with a saw.

That's partly why it keeps getting pushed back. They don't want it to be just like Second Life... |

True, but like JD said, there not trying to copy Second Life, but basically have the concept of it. And i truly think it has a shot and a very good shot at beating Xbox live or WII's Mii thing.
Same opinion here Salty, but by the videos i have witnessed from E3, it might just be the best looking interface and better than Live. |

I think Home in theory is an absolutely dumb idea. I don't want to walk around with my "friends" in a virtual advertisement filled world and collect things for my "pimp virtual apartment" Nintendos Mii's at least fit in with the whole market they're after(The casual/non-gamers) whereas this Home thing and Microsofts Avatars thing just seems like a silly attempt to pull in some of Nintendos audience, yet neither platform has the casual-games nor the "trendy" appeal to keep them there. As far as being better than Live? A simple menu is more functional and practical than a 3D model running around a 3D environment anyday. |

You got the wrong point TWFI, that is not sony's interface at all. It is just a chat room like function in the interface so if you want to go out and meet people you can. Here is the PS3's smooth interface otherwise known as the menu. ![]() |

Well that's just like the interface for PSP, it's awful. Face it, Xbox 360 is DESTROYING PS3 in sales and a good portion who are even buying the PS3 are only getting it for the blu-ray player. Which is inexplicably less expensive than a regular blu-ray. |

Im aware of what the PS3 offers right now and what Home will offer when they finally get around to releasing it, it's not mandatory, but that doesn't make the idea of running around a virtual world any less dumb to me. I'm not against what features the service will offer, sharing music/videos over a console is a good thing but why add 3d models to the mix? I don't own a PS3(No reason to have one) but I'm aware they've been starting to make the PS3 online experience less of a headache by adding functions that should've been in since the start(In-Game system menus etc) and to me they should focus on that and y'know, maybe offer a better library of games to play over the Playstation Network. That's what it'll take to be a "Xbox Live killer" not some lame attempt at Second Life. PS:I'm heavily pro Xbox but the same can be said for their Avatars. |
