Someone has ripped it and put it on Youtube which from the press release was to cover Batman from the end of Batman Begins up to The Dark Knight. I really liked the animation, but wasn't keen on Wayne's look especially as Batman in Field Test. My favourite of the six is either the aforementioned Field Test, In Darkness Dwells or Working Through Pain. I'm probably leaning towards In Drakness Dwells. So fucking good to hear Kevin Conroy voice Batman again, I like Christian Bale's delivery as Batman a lot, but it doesn't touch Conway who has the defintive voice for me.

Jeez, if it makes you feel better I didn't rip it and I'm also buying it on DVD. If it helps people sample the product first and then come to buy it, is that a bad thing. BTW it's worth the wait for you.

It doesnt matter who ripped it, who uploaded it or how good it is. I do not and will not support the practice.

And the good majority of people nowadays who watch a pirated version online will not buy it when it hits DVD. We're in a recession and nobody will spend their disposable income when they can watch it online.

Well, as fascinated as we all are with your point of view Salty, I'm pretty sure this thread is about Batman: Gotham Knights, as opposed to your support, or lack of, of this practice. Personally with a mortgage, cars, nursery fees, and bills coming out of every orifice, I'll certainly be watching this on youtube. For those without a whole host of monthly outgoings, no doubt they can afford to maintain their moral superiority.

So, back on topic then... Natural - not aware of Gotham Knights... are you saying there are six individual stories?

Hi Acadius, Batman: Gotham Knights as you rightly say does have six individual stories. The stories take the form of:

Spoiler: click to toggle

This short video talks about the development of Batman: Gotham Knights:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocITLlWOySY&feature=related

This is the synopsis I found:

Quote:

Explore Bruce Wayne's transition from his beginning as a tormented vigilantee to The Dark Knight of a crumbling metropolis with six distinct chapters but intended to be viewed as a whole

Hope this information is useful Acadius. I enjoyed watching Batman: Gotham Knights, but for the definitive animated Batman, it has to be Batman: The Animated Series but that's for another time!

All I can say is it'll be good to hear Kevin Conroy as the Bat again. When I read the comics I STILL hear his voice. His work on the Animated Series was amazing.

I'm really looking forward to the anthology for another reason though, and thats because while it takes place in the Begins-universe, itll feature characters that Nolan would never use. Ie Deadshot.

This I can agree with. No wonder Kevin Conway has voiced Batman for over a decade, I also hear his voice when reading a Batman story.

Whenever I see any animated batman where they don't use his voice, it feels off.

Case in point, New Frontier. Great movie but I missed Conroy.

I really don't understand the love for Conroy. All the way through watching this I felt a disconnect to the character. The voice acting just did nothing for me. It felt emotionless/cold/dead which would be ok for the Batman parts but for the Bruce Wayne parts it was just bleh.

That being said, it was a good collection of stories that all served their purpose. My personal favorites would have to be Crossfire and Deadshot.
