![]() Meet Hadash, Caprecia’s new Prime minister ![]() Hadash is now Caprecia’s 13th Prime minister after winning the elections with virtually no competition. Hadash has been a faithful citizen of Caprecia for nearly two years now and has played a very active role player as well as a major contributor towards the social regional community. He now assumes the role that Nuuk previously held and will oversee recovery efforts in the region. When asked about his political leanings Hadash had placed himself more to the left side of the political sphere. Hadash also held the consul position previously where we saw his active role in assuring the rules and laws were upheld. Hadash also kept an active role in the election period overseeing that the election process was being carried out fairly. Hadash’s election win indicates a new start and era for the region, we can only wish the best for him and his administration as they undertake a new Caprecia in a new era. Caprecians vote yes in favour of allowing a regional militia ![]() What is considered to have set a precedent for the region, Caprecian citizens have voted in favour of allowing a militia to be formed in the region. The proposal was brought forward by Dom in argument that it should be a region’s right to freely gather in defence. The debate over allowing a militia to be formed in the region is in no way new, it was one of the most heated debates during the Moosh administration where the idea was shot down by hard core neutralists. The initial argument against allowing private or even regional militia’s was on the basis that it would be a threat to regional neutrality. However since major figures of the Moosh government had left the region, the idea was reintroduced and passed. Dom has stated that the militia will be for the defence of the region and also as way to gather real interests in military and battlefield topics. “The goal of the militia is to test the capabilities of the region and also to bring together Caprecians who wish to serve their region” stated Dom, the militia founder. We are unsure as to what the name of the militia or what it’s core activity will be but the government of Caprecia has made it clear that the militia will in no way be promoted or funded by them. Advertisement ![]() Recovery efforts for Caprecia After what was the most depressive and inactive few months in Caprecia’s history, recovery efforts are now being made to restore the region. The “attempt” as referred to by the Founder is in resuming recruitment efforts and updating the regional community forum to attract more nations. For close to a year now Caprecia has gone below what was it’s acceptable size and activity. Just last month the region dropped down to an all time low in regional size of 43 nations and at one period there were only two active nations on the forum. While the regional inactivity was significant it was predicted prior by regional analysts with the theory of “what goes up must come down”. A major factor that contributed to the regional decline was an end to recruitment efforts. Now with an attempt the revive these efforts, there is a hope that the region will recover. “It was rough start to the year” said the founder and lead recruiter for Caprecia, “but hopefully we can overcome this inactivity and return to what we as a region once were”. The region is slowly recovering in population but there has been no assurance that the region will recover completely. Right now all the government can do is hope and recruit. Calls to replace or remove the constitution There are calls from many Caprecians being lead by senior member Oertha to either remove or replace the constitution. The proposal which has gained the vast majority of support from Caprecians at current would have never been imagined a year ago when Caprecia was lead by the Moosh coalition. One of the main reasons for the calls to end the current constitution is cited in many of the laws which are seen as restrictive and in part the cause to Caprecia’s community decline. The constitution of Caprecia was introduced on May 21st by then interior minister Lucava and was strongly supported by the Moosh government, nicknamed the “British Caprecian Campaign” during that time period. We must note that this term was associated with the strong British nationality presence in matters concerning the region at the time and did not apply to all pro-moosh supporters. The constitution was Caprecia’s first and was introduced nearly two years following the regions founding (one of the longest periods for a constitution in nationstates). The idea of the constitution was to bring the region more stability and more order however opponents cite that the constitution never provided much to the region aside from more regulation. In the thread written “A dialogue concerning the constitution” senior member Oertha cited in his issue with the constitution that “there are horrible, glaring errors within the document that need fixing anyway” and that “it’s overkill, we don’t need such a tight belted system in the region”.[/i] When asked on his opinion and stance on the matter of the constitution, his foundership, Dom stated that ”I am of the opinion that if the people call for a change in constitution, I will support this, however in all honesty I never had an issue with the previous one, but maybe change is something I don’t readily see”. With the vote the constitution is set to be removed soon. It is unsure what this will mean for things to come for the region, but it is in hope that more freedom will bring more interest back into the community. 13th Elections receive the lowest participation in region’s history ![]() Caprecia’s 13th elections that were held this month offered little change if any to the region. All positions up for grabs had one candidate so the people are only left with Mr Abstain (aka duck or goose) or the other candidate (who is probably a senior member). The lack of turn out for the elections has been cited due to obvious reasons, namely the fact that caprecia has been going through a long and expansive inactive period and recovery efforts have only begun. While the elections offer little change, in the name of tradition and democracy they are being held regardless, and turn out for the votes is expected to be at it’s lowest. Wise words from the founder Upon learning that he won the prime ministers elections by a landslide against the goose, Dom demonstrated his confidence in winning all along against his political opponent, the goose, by making this comment: ” HAH! I knew I'd come out top! That goose didn't have ANY experience what so ever. The Caprecian people are wise. And that’s this months wise words from the founder. The Foreign Observer Your Monthly Dose of NationStates News ![]() Foreign Minister plans an multi-regional tour The foreign minister has announced that he will be making a regional tour to a number of regions Caprecia’s holds and embassy with and possibly new regions. The foreign minister has not confirmed which regions will be contacted and visited neither has he announced a date. The goal of the tour is to improve Caprecia’s image abroad and to strengthen ties with other regions. Marxist Lennist Party region occupied ![]() It was a lightening campaign by the New Inquisition and their allies to invade the region of Marxist Lennist Party last week. The region, which is communist leaning, is now occupied by your standard raiders, and aside from the New Inquisition that has been named, others include the Black Hawks, Land of Kings and Emperors, The New Brittanian empire and surprisingly Europeia, what was once assumed to be a neutral region. As to whether the Marxist Lennist region was worthwhile of an invasion? That is questionable considering that 70% of the region’s population consists of an occupational force, but hey, it’s an achievement for the region none the less. As for the Founderless regions alliance reaction? Well we have no reports of any official statement from them, and it is looking clear that defenders will not be demanding a withdrawal anytime soon. Inactivity crises facing neighbouring regions While inactivity has hit Caprecia significantly for the last few months, neighbouring regions have not faired any better. Some of our neighbours are on the verge of collapse while others are pushing for recovery efforts as we are here to spare their regional community. This is not a domestic issue in any sense, it is an issue that has spread throughout our regional sector. “For some of our regional neighbours we have lost contact, I’ve had reports that some regions are virtually deserted while others are still maintaining their regional communities, but at a bare minimum”. The foreign minister will be reviewing many of the embassies Caprecia currently hold in part of an effort to cut down on foreign ministry update work. Fidelian elections With events occurring in Caprecia, like a true neighbour, Fidelia finds itself with the same events. Fidelia is also holding her elections and as turn out in Caprecia is low, so is Fidelia. But that has not stopped Fidelians from doing their regional duty and voting. Currently four names have been put up for parliament, Richard Massey, one of the more senior members of the region, Jack Dawkins, one of the more experienced government members, SteveC1994, one of the newer and active members of the Fidelian community and yumyum, another active member with political experiences from outside regions. We can only wish the best for the Fidelians and hope this government will help lead the region to a brighter era. The DSA votes to reaffirm freedom of expression The Democratic Socialist Alliance is in the current process of voting to reaffirm freedom of expression in their congressional halls this week. The purpose of the amendment is to allow the regional delegate and founder to bar what would be offensive and abusive posts on the regional forums while protecting other forms of speech. The votes so far are all “for” and the amendment is expected to pass. Advertisement ![]() Fun center! Animal of the week! White Rhino ![]()
