Nova de Lisboa is in mourning today after the assasination of First-Minister Jose Lugio. Jose has been First-Minister for the last 15 years and leader of Coalizão Conservadora, the Conservative Coalition, for the past 22 years. Jose died at the age of 66 and from the ages of 18 to 34 he served in the Navy gaining the rank of Commander and Commanding the Frigate Decisivo.

He then left the Navy after breaking his leg, since then he walked with a limp, and he entered politics. He became a Deputy at the age of 37 and at the age of 39 a Senator. He was a natural politician and by the time he was 44 he was leading the fifth largest party in the nation. By the time he was 50 he had turned the party into the largest party in the nation and became Frist-Minister the next year.

He was a Conservative man and supported the monarchy. But his main aim was to end the rife corruption in Nova de Lisboa. It has been suggested he was the first non Corrupted Head of Government in the nations history. He created a no nonsense policiy against corruption making bribery a crime punishable with 25 years in jail, for all involved.

Hugo DeChava, the leader of the largest Drug Cartel in the nation, hated the First-Minister. Hugo has claimed to be the man who killed him and has even turned himself into the police. The 75 year old said he had no need to continue as his son and heir would do it for him. Hugo had a monopoly on Drugs, Drink and Organised crime in the nation.

With the death of Jose it is suspected that Corruption will once more be on the rise. He has been awarded a state funeral and a new First-Minister will be elected.
