ooc: 50% of the votes will be decided by me and 50% by this poll Although it was still early there was already long lines outside the voting stations. Everyone wanted to be a part of Runikal's very first general election. There had been large preparations undertaken by the various political parties of Runikal, with only half a year to do their campaigning the smaller parties had been forced to join the larger in order to have the finances needed to have a chance. Parties: Liberal People's Party (Frikan Fojel Parteij) While severely weakened by the death of Vladimir Sergeyev and the deportation of many of their Nentsian members, the FFP remained one of the largest political parties in Runikal and clear favourites in the election. Party Chairman: Manos Uljan Stances on the important issues: Civil rights: Greatly extended civil rights, removal of restrictions on freedom of speech and a increased protection of refugees and residents. Foreign relations: Lessened involvement in the League of Monarchs. Mend relations with Nentsia. Monarchy: A constitution to limit the power of the monarch, but not removing them. The Royalist Party (Partij Aleik) Another strong choice, the Royalist Party is mostly a coalition of various moderate and conservative organizations, concerned with the amount of reforms promised by the FFP Party chairman: Jurij Karis Stances on the important issues: Civil rights: Limited extension of civil rights, mostly to grant more freedom of speech. Foreign relations: Increased relations with the members of the League of Monarchs. Monarchy: A constitution to better define the power of the monarch. Runik People's Party (Runikan Partij) A party that has concentrated mostly on the threat from Nentsia, the RP has managed to get much support among the more conservative elements of the population. Party chairman: Irjak Komenos Stances on the important issues: Civil rights: Few changes. Foreign relations: Greatly increased involvement in the League of Monarchs. Establish contacts with other monarchies and other nations that are hostile towards Nentsia. Monarchy: Strengthening the position of the King, to ensure a strict leadership. Labour Party (Arveijt Partij) Traditionally a small party, the Labour Party has managed to expand enormously in the last couple of years, especially in the heavily industrialised areas around Massoj. Party chairman: Roman Tarasov Stances on the important issues: Civil rights: Greatly extended civil rights, greater protection of the rights of workers. Foreign relations: Leave the League of Monarchs. Continue cold relations towards Nentsia. Monarchy: A constitution to greatly limit the power of the monarch, and strengthen the power of the democratically elected government. |
