OOC: This took place about a week before the next post.

"The Royal Family can get away with murder," yelled a 56 year old man wearing a red
Kippah, all men behind him wore the same. Unlike most Socialists in the world they firmly belived in their religion, though they belived religion and state should be seperate. Yikkon Havisham had just celebrated his birthday, all 21 members of the Knesst who were part of his party attended his birthday, but know he wanted to change history. It was his hope to call for a Vote of No confidence; not just in the government but the Knesset. If enough members supported this then another election would be held.

In the new climate it was possible he would win and he could establish a Sociialist Republic- not a monarchy dominated by the nobles.

"Third in line to the throne, Prince Jobe, raped a woman and got away with it. He was proven to be guilty. His brother, the King, can forge alliances and supports Otrenia over our natural allies Nentsia. When Otrenia refused to recongize the Republic of Nentsia's new government did he do what was right? No. Instead he does nothing." His ace was red with anger. "We have no power. The Knesset has had ancient power that no man should be to change when he feels like it."

Outside of the Knesset men supporting Havisham waved red flags with Socialist logo's and slogans. Support for his party had grew dramatically since the Prince raped the poor handmaid. She had become a supported of the party, once a supporter of the Royalist party. Her Husband was a member of the Knesset and Havisham had talked to him, he had been told that he had secured the vote of at least 45 members of his party and many were sympathetic.

Outside a new flag had been lifted up. It was called the Socialist Flag of Courlund. The basic design was the same but where green usually stood red replaced it. Many had commented that outside the Knesset looked like a sea of blood with hundreds dressed in read and waving red flags.

"I call for a vote of no confidence in the Knesset," the place erupted. Havisham could see te First Lord of Parliament sink her head. One by one all 803 members of the Knesset stood and voted. After a long vote it was announced by the speaker- the Knesset was dissolved. And a new election would be called. Outside the people danced and sung.

Newspapers, Tv Stations and radio were all running with one story- The Election. It was common news all over the world due to Courlunds position as one of the richrest and most influential nations in Renatia. Many international political analysts belived that the Socialist Party could change the balance of power in the world- if they associated themselves with the rulling parties in Aus'tiana and Netisa. If they gained a majority it would mean that three of the richest and most powerful nations in Renatia would have the same ideology for the first time in living memory.

The four parties that gained seats in the last election had allied themselves with allies. The former enemies the Royalist and the New Party had allied to attempt to curb the Socialist movement while the Socialist had allied themselves with the Sikh Yes Vote. This was a tactical move. The Socialist had little chance of gaining seats from the New Party in and around the Sinai region. The Sikh party had a chance to gain votes from Sikh majority and simpathisers in the region- plus the Socialist had promised not only to hold a vote but to vote Yes.

The Royal family were apprently scared. In the event of a Socialist win the first thing the party would do it to limit the Kings power to a figure head. They would then remove him from power alltogether. All party candidates were going around the nation asking for votes, kissing babies and the like. The Socialist and Republicans had a good chance they could win but it was still not a sure thing.

The election votes came in a week after the Knesset was dissolved:

Royalist Party: 80/803
New Party: 179/803
Socialist and Republican Party: 523/803
Sikh Yes Vote: 21/803

The Socialist Party had a huge majority. They now ruled the Knesset with millions of followers marching in the street and cheering. They demanded to bring in a new law, and as it would lower the monarchs power it needed no Royal assent, they asked for the monarchs power to be that of a figure head. The vote was counted:

Yes: 623
No: 100
Abstain: 80

King Caradoc was now a figure head, Havisham had been appointed Leader of Parliament and soon reforms would come into play that would change everything.
