High King Voris Announces First Elections!![]() The High King adressing a public gathering outside the Royal Castle Today the High King went into a conference with the Noble's council to discuss the liberal demonstrations and the future of Runikal. After many hours of discussion they finally agreed to bring democracy to Runikal, or as the Lord Chancellor put it "the time has come for Runikal to enter the modern world" Celebrations erupted in the streets of most major cities and people ran into the streets carrying flags and pictures of the king. "We knew that the High King saw our distress, we knew he would listen to us and bring us what we needed!" a young Massojan woman said to our reporter. The King declared that the first democratic elections for a new parliamentary body would take place in Utan next year, giving the parties time to organize campaigns. The details of the new democratic government were to be established and announced within the coming week. |

Liberal victory in the first election! Uljan in talks with Labour Party ![]() The results of the very first election in Runikal are finally in. It came to no larger surprise that the largest party in the new People's Council is the Liberal People's Party. What did came as a surprise to many though is the success of the dangerously left leaning Labour Party and the shortcomings of the conservative Royalist Party. -It is quite clear that it was dangerous and foolish to hold the first elections so soon after the events around the anti-monarchist riots. With anger and frustration still in the air many voters went against their better knowing and turned to such extremist groups. Says Jurij Karis, former Lord Chancellor and the leader of the Royalist Party. As no party has achieved their own majority, a coalition will need to be formed. The most plausible now would be between the LPP and Labour, but it's also very much possible that Mr Uljan will refrain from cooperating with such radicals, and instead go the moderate line, forming a coalition with the Royalists. Safe to say is that we have some exciting four years ahead of us. |
