0900 Hours, Krrmon-Klmon Antarctic Research Base

The sky was clear while they ground lay covered in a fresh paint of new snow. The scientists and soldiers shivered as they were forced to work. The scientists constantly researching the "new product" ordered to be produced by the Didactic Council, the soldiers standing, guarding the base from foreigners from getting in and the scientists from getting out. It was much more like slave work for both the scientists and soldiers as if either were to abandon or not follow orders, they would be stripped and left to wonder the icy continent of Kaltorn. If it during the summer, then they would be sent out to sea without a boat. That was the sure fire method to keeping production high. Today, however, production was especially high. No, someone had not received the above punishment, but inspectors were coming to evaluate the progress made on the "new product".

"Sir, the inspectors are en route. They just landed at landing strip A1." said the soldier.

"Damnit! were not ready yet" said General Jonsun, "you said Landing Strip A1, right?"

"That is right sir"

"That's about a 10 minute escort to here" continued Jonsun.

"Uhm sir, this was radioed here just now, and it was said they had been en route for a few minutes already."

"Fuck! Why wouldn't he radio us sooner?" The General then stormed the base to yell to get everyone ready, though, already on the horizon the Humvee could be seen approaching. There would not be enough time.

"Sir!" yelled the soldier Jonsun had been talking to before, "the inspectors have arrived they are preparing to enter right now!"

"Never mind what I have said everyone, just get back to work." he shouted for everyone to hear. "Perhaps we wont get marked down for the clutter." Jonsun then said in a lower voice.

The inspectors made there way through the different sections of the building, which at this point in its existence, did not really matter much as all parts were working on the same product. They had received a few marks against them, but got a plus for being ahead of schedule. The soldiers were happy now, bar General Jonsun, as their rotation had ended (because of the arrival of the inspectors which come every 6 months). They would now return home while new soldiers came in. Though, if soldiers are to speak of anything that goes on at Krrmon-Klmon, there fate would be much worse than if they failed to follow orders while on duty.

"We have rights you know!" yelled a prisoner at the guards who were nearly dragging them to the gas chambers. "This is inhumane! How can you do this to us?"

The guards all laughed at the man's panic. "Rights?" said one of guards still laughing.

"Yes, rights! This is Shermany, we all have rights!" replied the prisoner.

"Yes this is Shermany, but you have no rights. you are charged with life in prison for gang activity. I am unsure if you come from a different country, but you are a Sherman citizen and therefore your life long sentence can, at any time, be changed to a death penalty. It just so happens that your government needs..." the guard paused a moment. "test subjects" he then continued with a grin.

Moments later the prisoners were thrown into a gassing chamber. "At least you will die for reason here!" the guards all chuckled. Then the gas was released into the chamber. Though, unlike what the government wanted and the scientists expected, death was not immediate. Rather, they all fell to the ground coughing and choking but remained alive for several minutes. Not the results that were wanted.

"Well then, back to the drawing board." said a scientist.

"No, look. We have the effect we wanted, just not fast enough. This is the right path." replied another. "Krrmon 1 is a failure, but perhaps Krrmon 2 will not be."

Despite the hope of the scientists, however, Krrmon 2--as well as 3 for that matter--were failures. The effect was achieved, though, not in speed. Now, all were rushed as only one year was left for the deadline of the governments order of their "new product."

Krrmon-Klmon Antarctic Research Base

The layers of snow were beginning to melt as the sun came out for its 6 month reign. The life which existed on kaltorn too was coming to life. All joyous for the new season. Though, the Sherman Claim on the continent, which is known to the people of Shermany as Krrmon-Klmony, more specifically the Krrmon-Klmon Antarctic Research Base, was interested in the ending of life with their research into the deadly biochemical Krrmon Gas. They, however, had a problem. The deadline for the finished product was one year away, and they had yet to produce and effective product which could do its job with speed.

The jobs--no, the lives--of all the scientists were at stake. Not only that, but the government would have to invest in more time which is wasting money, soemthing the Progressive Party doesn't appreciate. Once more inspectors were coming to oversee the progress made. This time, however, they would not be as pleased. Krrmon Gas was scheduled to be done by now. The extra year was meant to be for testing. The scientists of Krrmon-Klmon would have to step up and put the petal to the metal if they were going to finish.

What everyone at the Base wondered, logically, was whether or not Krrmon 4 would be the solution, or if more would have to be tried. But the scientists were not paid to wonder, and needed complete focus on their product. Their lives could depend on it.

With only a few months remaining, they had achieved their goal of finishing the Krrmon gas. On the sixth attempt, the right combination of everything came into play and the results they had been looking for were seen. Krrmon 6, as it would not be called, would soon come under inspection and most likely go into mass production. It will be put into many forms, such as smartbombs, all ranges of ballistic missiles, and unguided bombs that can be 'carpet bombed' onto cities. Shermany, however faced one problem, keeping it secret. Word could not be let out of the production of this weapon or the world would be all over the fatherland.

What plans would the Progressive Party give to Krrmon-Kelmon next? That would be for time to tell. But how that might change the world would be the real question...
