It was a dark and stary night up on the moors in Quantaras. There wasn't a sound in the air as 2 sheepherds proceeded to bring in their flock of sheep. ''Almost there.'' One of the men said. ''Aye, then we'll bring 'em back out in the morning to graze.'' Replied the other. As they were bringing in the sheep, a horn bellowed over the land. It had a deep, dark, hair-raising sound. It made them stand up and shiver. ''What was that?'' One of the men said. ''Don't know.'' Said the other. ''Let's get these sheep in and get out of here. I don't like this.'' ''I concur.'' The 2 men hastily began ushering the sheep in but a few seconds later, the horn sounded again. This time, a fog fell and there came an inhumane sound. Then there was a creature in the field. No. Not one. Two. ''W-what is t-that!!'' Screamed one of the men. ''Let's get out of here!!'' Screamed the other. As they ran, one of the men slipped. As he tried to get up, something grabbed his leg and pulled him back into the black fog. There was a bloodcurdling scream and soon there was blood, man and sheep's. all over the field. The other man never stopped running. He ran from the screams, and the death, towards the nearest town... |

''Calm down, what did you see?'' The Shepherd had made his way towards the local town and he was now standing in the throne room in the Lord's castle. The Lord had agreed to hear his story. ''We were out on the hills, taking in the sheep when we heard a horn sounded. It rang, bloodcurdlingly, across the land. We hurried to get the sheep in and then we heard it again. This time a black fog fell and from it came two dogs. Not normal dogs. These dogs were made of black shadows. Except for the eyes and teeth. Those blood red eyes. And the teeth, sharp and as long as swords. They came and slaughtered the sheep. And then they came for us. My friend tripped and they got him and killed him. I can still hear the death screams, human and sheep.'' At this, he broke down into crying. ''Your tale is perplexing.'' ''It is true though.'' ''I shall send some men onto the hill tonight and see if your tale is true.'' |

The moon was shinning in the sky, A bright luminous sphere of light. Two men were sitting on the grass on the hilltop where, just last night, the shepherds had herded their flock of sheep. It was growing late. ''I doubt that guy was telling the truth.'' One of them said. ''Probably had too much drink and imagined it.'' ''Mm'' Another hour came and went, and still nothing happened. And then. A horn sounded. A deep, dark, hair raising sound. And then came the fog. Black, shadowy, wisps of shadow fog. And out of it came a deep growling. Out of the fog came two dogs made out of it. The men rose in terror and ran. The Hounds gave chase. Only a few metres later, they pulled one of them down. The other man heard his companion's death screams as he chased down the hill. ''So it is true what the shepherd says.'' ''Yes M-my Lord.'' The man was panting. He hadn't stopped running from the hilltop. He was now standing in the throne room of the Lord, the very same that the shepherd had ran to. ''Well then, I will send the army onto the hills to kill these hounds.'' ''These hounds cannot be killed. My friend, was trying to kill them with his sword while they devoured him.'' ''So these creatures are unable to be killed.'' The Lord sighed. ''I can kill these hounds.'' Everyone turned to see a figure walk in the door... |
