The Courlund Liberal Alliance suffered terribly at the last Presidential election, the only major party to gain no Governorships what so ever. The CLA has an all time low membership of only 300,000 and they received less than 2% of the overall vote leading many Courlundish analyst to class them as a minority party. However it seems that change could be on the horizon as the CLA meet to vote a new leader after the old one was forced to resign after the terrible defeat at the hands of the three major parties.

There were four candidates but the winner received 69% of the vote. Chaim Issachar was voted as the leader of the party and has undergone rigorous changes in the way the party works. The 51 year old describes himself as ''as anything but a politician,'' he spent most of his working life as a NCO in the army where he became known as the Hammer.

He said that he believes that Courlund needs to be changed from a conservative left to a liberal right. His main policies are different in many ways to his predecessor. For example he does not wish to legalize drugs but does want to lower the voting age. He wants to decrease the military budget but maintain Courlunds position as the second highest defence spender. He would get rid of 2 air craft carriers leaving Courlund with a fleet of 5, 100,000 tonne carriers.

He would also do everything in his power to get all nations to become democracy's and would attempt to join or even form a organisation responsible for such actions.
