Prime Minister Josef Thorsten went to Schann Palace today to ask him Majesty Prince Hendrik II permission to dissolve Parliament and call a general election. His Majesty obliged and parliament was dissolved by Royal Decree at 5:15 PM today. Prime Minister Josef Thorsten is the sixth Prime Minister of Vaduz and all of them have been from the The Christian Conservative Democratic Monarchist Union. 48 years ago the Prince stepped down as head of government and handed the reigns of Government to the people just two years after becoming Prince.

Since them the CCDMU has been in power with 6 Prime Ministers each ruling for two four year terms- the party had dominated Vaduz for almost half a century. Prime Minister Josef Thorsten must step down as he has served two terms. He leaves the party controlling 62/100 seats in the Diet.

He is also the last Prime Minster as when he leaves office the post will be changed to Chancellor. However all former Prime Ministers will also recieve the title Chancellor meaning the person elected will be the Seventh person to hold the title; when in fact they will be the first.

On the face of it the CCDMU seems like it will win. However with Thorstens Departure he leaves a party without any real leader; although one has been elected, and a nation unsure of the new and CCDMU candidate. Many people suspect the Liberal-Green Party of Vaduz will gain many seats at the election as liberalisim has been growing latley in a usually conservative nation. However the fact the CCDMU is feilding the first ever female candidate could win them votes.

For 48 years the CCDMU has controlled at least 55 seats in the Diet. But today that has all changed as for the first time in the nations democratic history no party has been able to secure a majority in the house. People are uncertain about what will come next and below are the results and ramifications of the election.

The Christian Conservative Democratic Monarchist Union
: 35/100

Liberal-Green Party of Vaduz : 35/100

Communist Party of Vaduz
: 10/300

Republican Party
: 20/100

The two partys that support the monarchy collectively have 70% of the Diet. The LGP has seen massive gains. The CCDMU has become hugely unpopular and has not formed a government as it no longer has public support. Instead, for the first time in the nations history, a new party has come to power; the Liberal-Green Party of Vaduz.

The Liberal-Green Party of Vaduz has agreed to work with the Republican Party as long as they drop the abolishment of the monarchy from their manifesto, something they have agreed to. The new Cabinet looks like this.

Head of Government: Chancellor Gustav Wilheim

Second Minister and Foreign Affiars: Gerhold Humbert
Director of the Treasury: Helmfried Arnold Malthe Gerd
Director of Justice: Minna Vilma Margareta Dietlinde Das
Director of Education: Aloysius Lanzo Lambert Ekkehardt
Director of Health: Svenja Lulu
Director of Equality: Arne Hugo

Director of Trade: Eriko Hugo Das
Director of Food: Henning Jeremias

Director of Business and Employment: Alwin Harald Ekkehardt Gebhard
Director of Transport: Adam Jürgen
Director of the Environment and Climate Change: Eugen Jonathan

Director of Scientific Development: Dr. Erika Beatrix

The Chancellor is the youngest member of the Cabinet and the youngest person to become head of state of Vaduz. He promises great leaps forward and has announced a will to visit as many nations as possible.
