Seventh National Assembly elections underway
Unity and Identity parties unified on Davaist issue

Posted Image

The seventh election in Aus'tianian history is now underway, with some new and interesting developments that are sure to be the highlights of this years' campaign. The Conservative, Nationalist, National Socialist, and Consocationalist parties have all unified under a coalition movement called the Identity Party, seeking to unify the Aus'tianian right and take a chance at gaining the highest proportion in the National Assembly, earning themselves their first term in the Chancellery. The Demarchist Party has elected not to run in this year's race due to internal struggles and no party leader.

The key issues candidates are focusing on this election are the ongoing Davaist issue, the future of the nation's involvement in the Engleshire Civil War, food safety and regulation, and immigration.

Political analysts cite the growing presence of Antisemitism in Aus'tianian households to be the driving force behind the right's success in previous elections, as well as a growth in Semitic violence against ethnic Aus'tianians. In a surprising move, the Unity Party has announced it will adopt the Identitarian Policy of Non-Integration regarding the nation's Davaist population, meaning that the nation's Davaists will be segregated into separate communities, taught in different schools, their moving costs to emigrate to Courlund or Azurbajan will be payed for in full, and no more Davaists will be permitted to immigrate into the nation or pass freely across the border. The Communist Party is the only major political party to have no stance on the Davaist issue or on immigration.

Much is at stake this year in the election as the Unitarians and Sha'krios try their luck at getting a seventh term in the Chancellery, while the extreme left and right elements of the Aus'tianian political sphere continue vying for a chance to chair the nation's government.

Unity Party
Baltar Sha'krios

This party been in power since the founding of Aus'tiana; a center-left party, it represents the good "middle-ground" that the majority of Aus'tianians feel is best for their government.

Economy: Market socialism, profit sharing
Military: Slightly reduce spending
Social: Segregate Davaists into separate neighborhoods
Justice: Strict, hard-on-crime, tough on Davaists
Immigration: Limited immigration, ban on Davaists
Healthcare: Allow two-tiered system
Education: Government-funded tuition
Religion: Further secularization, continue small-scale funding
Foreign Relations: Pro-Is'bras Accords, interventionist

Communist Party
Aleia Ar'ner

A far-left party, its more extreme stance on economics and foreign relations have attracted a great amount of people to its cause but never enough to be in power.

Economy: Communist, nationalization of major industries
Military: Reduce spending
Social: Introduce equalization laws
Justice: Decrease minimum sentencing
Immigration: Open borders, no priority
Healthcare: Nationalize healthcare
Education: Abolish private schools
Religion: Abolish government funding of religious institutions
Foreign Relations: Pro-Courlundish, interventionist

Identity Party
Palera Or'haem

A coalition of the Aus'tianian right, its policies gear towards reactionaries and nationalists and is popular in both the north and the lower-middle class.

Economy: Regulated Market
Military: Increase spending, introduce 6-month mandatory training
Social: Segregate Davaists into separate neighborhoods
Justice: Try Davaists in separate courts
Immigration: Reduce immigration greatly, ban on Davaists
Healthcare: Nationalize healthcare, allow two-tiered system
Education: Separate Davaists into different schools
Religion: Cease funding to all Davaist institutions
Foreign Relations: Anti-Courlundish, Pro-Is'bras Accords, Neutral

Posted ImagePosted Image
Cosmopolitan Party
Boren In'tek

A far-left party, this new element in Aus'tianian politics has caused quite a stir. While a minor party, its globalist and anti-nationalist rhetoric has caused some trouble with other parties and people as well. They support a one-world government consisted of all peoples regardless of political, social, ethnic, or religious aspects.

Economy: Globalist, establish international currency
Military: Decrease Spending
Social: Decrease number of police
Justice: Implement more rehabilitation
Immigration: Greatly encourage immigration
Healthcare: Nationalize healthcare
Education: Introduce unbiased religion classes
Religion: Reintroduce religious funding for all spiritual groups
Foreign Relations: Extremist globalist, interventionist

OOC I hold 50% of the vote, remember you can vote two times. Voting ends in a week.

Identarians get top vote, fail to gain majority
Unity Party's seven-term rule ended

All tallies have been counted and officials have declared the Identarians to be the nation's ruling party, and the new Chancellor to be Palera Or'haem. While they have obtained control over the Chancellery, the National Assembly remains out of their direct influence as only a third of all Aus'tianians voted for the Identity Party. With merely the Communist and Unitarian vote able to oppose any Identarian move in the Assembly, it is now up to Or'haem to attempt to run a minority government or call for another vote.

One major issue has arisen from the lack of functionality the government will have based on the election's results, as even the most basic laws will take months if not years to pass, prime issues such as the Davaist problem and immigration will continue to go unchallenged. Some analysts worry that rebel, vigilante, and revolutionary groups will seek to take full opportunity of this lack of government action to gain supporters for their extremist causes.

Second consecutive shift to the right in Aus'tiana

AS'KRIOS - For a second time in a row, the Aus'tianans have made a shift to the right. The Identity Party has become the big winner of this years elections in Aus'tiana, a party known for its controversial ideas regarding the problems with Davaists. The Identity Party aims for a segregation policy, in which Davaists are segregated from the rest of society.

And after a decade of governing Aus'tiana, Baltar Sha'krios will be replaced as chancellor by Palera Or'haem. Supreme Commissar Yermolayev has sent his congratulations to Or'haem, and he hopes for a fruitful cooperation with the new chancellor of Aus'tiana. Commissar Yermolayev also announced that he will bring a state visit to Aus'tiana for cultural exchange and to hold the first talks with the new chancellor.

Yermolayev did not release any comments on the resignation of Sha'krios, but throughout Nentsia many politically engaged journalists have expressed their disappointment.

''Without a doubt, Sha'krios is the best statesman in Renatian history'', wrote an anonymous journalist in the FedGaz, the newspaper of the Federovist Party.

The Federovist Party has not released an official statement. Party secretary Grigory Chernin, one of the most controversial Nentsians in Renatia, said that the Aus'tianans have made a wise decision in voting for the Identity Party which holds truely patriotic values. ''The Identity Party is a bit like Federovism here in Nentsia: away with political games, a party that truly serves the national interests.''
