![]() The Frente Murrietista Revolucionario (Murrietist Revolutionary Front), is an armed revolutionary group in Ichihuexopan, Tzetxuhoan, that fights for the recognition of the indigenous peoples, for self-determination, against racism, neo-liberalism and they seek indigenous control over their own local lands and resources. Their name is derived from a legendary outlaw, who fought for social justice against discrimination. Their ideology is often described as libertarian socialism or anarcho-communism, but the Murrietistas claim their ideas are derived from their own indigenous cultural thought. History Tzetxuhoan, a tropic nation in Agabia, was inhabited by several indigenous Indian tribes, such as the Ichihuexopaneco, the Tzekuitl and the Quetzexa. Anglo and Dutch colonists later colonized the lands, exploiting the natural resources of the country. The colonial white people settled down in Tzetxuhoan, mainly along the coastal regions. They installed some kind of an Apartheid policy. Indigenous peoples were not allowed to vote, not allowed to follow proper education and there were more of such laws. After a few centuries, many of the Apartheid laws were abolished. The racial voting laws were replaced by suffrage based on wealth, excluding the indigenous population which was often very poor. The ultra-conservative governments of Tzetxuhoan never did much for the indigenous population, but its corporations did confiscate all the resources and lands of the rural indigenous population. The police would often abuse its power in the indigenous regions, raping the women and murdering the men. Occasionally, the local indigenous populations rioted against the authorities, demanding justice and equality. Such protests and riots were often countered with police and even military force. In 44 AE a police officer was killed in Ichihuexopan after he raped an indigenous woman in her home. The man was killed by an infamous Tzetxuhoani bandit, Roberto Amador. The government openly supported the killed police officer. Roberto Amador then mobilized the indigenous peoples to arm and protect themselves, their families and their land against the government of Tzetxuhoan. It would become the FMR, which now claims to fight not just for the Ichihuexopaneco, but for all who are excluded, discriminated, ignored, harassed, persecuted, mocked, oppressed and exploited. After a couple of years, the revolutionary government in Vertadoría was toppled by the Coup of Santana. Many members of the PURSV fled from Vertadoría. The revolutionary leaders, such as Ernesto Carrasco and Alejandro Cordoba, fled to Ichihuexopan where they joined the armed rebellion of the indigenous peoples. Now they are serving the FMR. When the Tzetxuhoani government heard that the Vertadorian revolutionary commanders had joined the FMR, the government increased the military presence in the region. The government feared that the Vertadorian exiles would bring lots of guerilla experience. This led to the revolts of many leftist movements all over Tzetxuhoan. Even the ethnic whites, especially students, trade unionists and civil rights activists organized mass demonstrations against president Ackerman. The social-political crisis in Tzetxuhoan is still ongoing. In 48 AE, when President Ackerman was attending a summit in Tawasia, the FMR launched a March of Dignity of Ichihuexopan indigenous men and women towards the capital, New Hope City, where they would join a mass demonstration against the government, with the aim to depose president Ackerman. Ideology The ideology of the FMR is often described as libertarian socialism, anarcho-communism, anarchism, autonomism and socialism. The FMR however, claims to have not been inspired by any of these ideologies. They claim that their ideas are derived from their cultural background as indigenous peoples who have been oppressed and discriminated for hundreds of years. The FMR claims to struggle for humanity against neoliberalism. The FMR fights for equal rights of indigenous peoples, homosexuals and women, they seek self-governance so that they have access to their own resources and lands and so that they can defend their people, culture and natural resources against corporations and big capital. They claim to be dignified people, as they will not surrender in exchange for money, they will resist the injustices done against their people and they will not stop resisting before everyone has democracy, liberty and justice.
