A meeting of the Council of Five was in session in the city of Lod. Lod was one of three main military cities and there for the perfect place for the Council to meet and discuss Courlund and the World. All but one of them, the Kings Godfather, were from a military background and General Aryeh Yusseff was one of the most ambitious men in the nation. He had recently been made Chairman of the Council which made him the second most powerful man in the nation and the deputy leader of the military.

He did not like the King, in fact he wanted the man dead. Unlike David Aryeh could not care less about the people and all he wanted was more power. He would of declared out and out war against Nentsia by now if he had been King. Aryeh was also against any sort of hereditary rights and hated the little 19 year old crown prince who could one day be his master.

He had hatched a plan with the similar thinking Admiral Itzhak Benesh. They wished to kill the king, the crown prince and the rest of the Council. The General would be declared dictator for life, the Admiral would become Deputy Dictator. However they did want to reinstate Parliament, though they would monitor the power of Parliament with many laws and allow the Dictator to disband it if he ever needed it. The Dictator was nonreligious but the Admiral was a very conservative Davidist so it is likely no laws that bring back religious freedom will be passed.

They knew the other members of the Council had far to much respect for the King to ever take part in the plot, so for the whole thing to work they had to get rid of them so they could take power with the Kings death.

They knew bringing back Parliament would be a very popular move, both with the people and the outside world. It would hopefully bring trade back from Courlund and increase the nations standing in the world.

However they would have to kill the Council with out the King noticing or they would be killed with out a second thought from their ruler. However this did not seem like it would be to hard as the King had made a fatal flaw, he had given the Council command over the day to day running of Courlund and the military.

The King was making a public speach and always six officers would accompany him these men were under the Generals command and would kill the King when they recived the message. Before this soilders would storm the Council of Five meeting and kill all but the Admiral and General.

''I think we should give all control to parliament, except military and foreign relations.'' Added the Admiral. The two men had now decided Courlund would have a hybrid system with the General as Dictator, with the title Grand-Chancellor, and the Admiral would be Head of the Armed Forces. They would reform parliament and try to get trade back from Jogen, Nentsia and other economic nations. They also wanted to cut the military, the budget was to high and simply not needed to defend the nation.

''I agree, he should be dead in a matter of minutes. And so will the Council, then we must act quickly. We need to secure the Capital, and deploy the military until we have control of the nation. Then we can execute our plans. It seems no King lasts long in Courlund, ah?''

''And we must stand together in these times, when four thousand Jews were murdered by the vile Nentsian Scum. When Jogen threatened us with Nuclear War* we must have a large and strong military.'' The crowd stayed silent. Some agreed others did not but no one had the courage to say anything. The great State of Courlund was now silent, controlled by one man. ''That is why I propose that 7% of the men in our nation be sent into the military.''

Six men stood beside the King. They were part of the Royal Courlund Guard. They were formerly a Special Forces Regiment but now they were nothing more than body guards. They had been long term friends with the General and when he gave them the chance to be reestablished they agreed to kill the King. They had orders to make sure it did not happen in Public and that the Council of Five was already dead, well except the two men behind the plot.

After speaking for thirty two minutes the King left the Balcony and headed inside. ''I did well don't ya think Corp'.'' He asked looking at the 22 year old. The man in question had been the youngest man to ever gain entrance into the elite regiment and it was said he would be raised from the ranks in a matter of years; before the fool took command. ''Yes sir.''

''Son, come 'ere and give ya' da' a hug.'' The crown prince frowned but did as he was commanded. He was guarded by two men, both part of the conspiracy. They all looked at each other and surrounded the King and his son pointing their guns at them. ''What, what are you doing?'' Asked the young prince. ''I am King of Courlund, heir of King Dav...'' A bullet came from the Corporals rifle and hit David in the head. Under laws of succession the young Crown Prince was now King, and he would have the shortest rule in history. ''Your Majesty.'' Sneered one of the men. The boy stood his ground and said nothing as gun shots rang through the halls hitting him in the chest. The monarchy was over.

Three levels below the Council of Five had heard the gunshots. All Five Members stood and were escorted by the Guards as protocol dictated. However the second they were in the corridor the men opened fire killing all but two of the men.

David Aryeh ordered the soilders up to the top floor where the King and Crown Prince lay dead. ''Chop of the bastards head and sent it to the Tsar.'' The soilders did and the Tsar would soon recieve the boxed head of the King of Courlund with a plea to improve relations.

The Armed Forces went to DefCon 2 as no one knew if a foreign power would attempt to take the nation. The men made a speach latter this day. ''....The King, the man who took away your liberties is dead. His rule is over and I hereby establish a democracy. I will be head of state but a Parliament will be reestablished, democracy will rule once more and we will see a new world.''

OOC: Basically Courlund is still a Dictatorship but less Fascist than before and more of a Hybrid Scheme.

*Sorry this is total nonsense and he is just using it to try and explain the high military spending.
