![]() Ненецкий Объединенная Федеровистическая партия ![]() Alexander Hall, Vladimirsk - Nentsian Tsardom Today, the 2nd Congress of the Nentsian United Federovist Party was held in Vladimirsk, the congress of that largest and most dominant political party in Nentsia. With over 3 million members, this party has become the most influential party since the Communist Party of Nentsia. The Congress is the assembly of all party delegates of all the Party Secretariats. The Congress decides upon the course of the party, it elects the Central Board, and votes on the most important proposals. It is held once a year. It currently consists of 400 members. As all the party delegates from all corners of the Nentsian empire sat down on their places, there was some tension in the conference hall. Most delegates did not know how to approach this congress. Should they be critical towards the leading body of the party? Or supportive, to have a better chance on having a career within the party. The most influential people within the party were attending as well, Evgheniy Strashnev (current commissar of defence), Lavrenti Voronev, Grigory Chernin, Pavel Vanyev, Artem Andreyev - all very influential secretaries from the Central Board of the Federovist Party. But there were even more powerful members: Ivan Borisenko and Boris Bugayev. Both men were candidates to become party president one day, and they both served the General Committee of the Nentsian United Federovist Party. The General Committee is a special section within the Party. Its members consist of five people, handpicked by the President of the Party. They form a supervisory organ within the party, supervising all governing and decision making processes within the party. It is their task to protect the party from dissidents and damaging itself. The General Committee is responsible for maintaining party discipline and to filter out dissidents and opposition in the party. It makes the men from the General Committee very powerful, as all members try to please them. And therefore, the next party president to get elected will always come from the General Committee. These guys simply have the most friends. The congress was presided by the leader of the party, the president of the Federovist Party, and Supreme Commissar of Nentsia: Sergey Yermolayev. Yermolayev was given a standing ovation as he entered the stage. Tovarish! Today is our first congress since the electoral victory for our party. We can be proud of ourselves, of our country that has made a wise decision. As political leader of Nentsia, I am faced with a number of confrontations in our empire. Terrorism, poverty, foreign conflicts, corruption - problems that threaten the stability and unity of our empire. Sevostrovin and Elebenese terrorists bring fear to the hearts of our people. The state must deal with this.(...) The congress took four hours. President Yermolayev explained his policies of the past year to the congress, and made some promises for the future. He publically criticized Courlund, Germania, the Islamic Empire and Eleben. After him, Boris Bugayev spoke to the Congress. Bugayev criticized Yermolayev's government for not doing enough about the poverty and poor healthcare in Nentsia. This resulted in a fierce debate between Borisenko and Bugayev. Eventually, the Congress had to make a number of votes on proposals, and it was obvious that Borisenko had more support than Bugayev. The Congress decided that Yermolayev should nationalise some enterprises to increase the government budget, they decided that the military mission in Engleshire needed more troops and the congress agreed on several healthcare reforms. Outside Alexander Hall, several human rights activists protested against the Federovist Party, accusing it of acting undemocratic and violating human rights. The protestors were all arrested, and released one week later. One of them died in hospital after being physically abused by the police. |
