![]() Celtan Broadcasting Corporation Reporting from Kerrie Utan 15, 46Æ National Justice Tanner Wilkes Says Government "Unconstitutional" ![]() Councillor of the Executive Council and National Justice of the Judiciary Council Tanner Wilkes declared in full-session of the Senate that the government of the Sovereign Republic of Celtus is "unconstitutional" and requires reform. Representatives of the National Justice have stated that the announcement has come after almost a year of investigations and research, primarily into the power-abuse of government positions and the misplacement of taxpayer's money. "We freed ourselves from tyranny and injustice when we became a republic, but I fear that it has come to the point where that is not enough. The transition from monarchy to republic allowed the people, rather than a tyrant, to be declared the Sovereign of the State, however what we lack is governance by the people. In any modern democracy in this day and age, there exists a full separation of powers so that the State may police itself for any corruption or abuse of power, yet in Celtus there exists none. In any modern democracy the parliament is given the sole power to write and pass laws, yet in Celtus departments may set their own. In any modern democracy the power of the government's executives are limited, yet in Celtus we have merely replaced one tyrant with many. "In one month time there will be a national referendum on the new structure of the government, a choice of the people, for the people, by the people, which will decide the future of Celtus, and the future of our democracy. Thank you." The rest of the Executive Council has not published any statements nor have they returned our calls. Unconfirmed rumors have spread that Chairman Timothy Barkely has fled to Tawasia, along with many other government officials. Grayson Petersen, CBC Edited by Freeman, 29 Aug 2010, 07:04 PM.
