New Military plans have been outlined today by Defence Minister Eitan Jehoiakim, of the The Party for Socialist Workers, the new plan is part of the Governments economic growth project and has gained much support with the general public after the dismal performance at the Governor-Mayor elections. The New plans does not say a decrease will take place in Military spending but personnel will be cut drastically from 1,600,000 to about 650,000 men and woman serving in the military. "The new military will be smaller, better equiped, much better trained and with the highest technology possible. Every solder will be better than ever due to the increased spending, over 3 times more, than can be spent on each man. The navy will not take a large hit and it will still have over 200 fighting ships."

"We simply do not need than many men in the military. Almost one million people will now be looking for jobs that can boost the economy and my colleague Ozihel Mattan, Minister for Work and Pensions, has assured me every man and woman who has lost their job will be given a new one with the same or higher salary. As I said this is to increase or gorwing economy which is one of the largest in Renatia. I do not know the exact figure, that is not my job, but it is over 4 Trillion. When we have an economy that large we do not need to sustain such a large army."

He took a sip of water and continued. "If we ever needed a larger army we have 1,000,000 trained men and woman who can join and an economy that can support, for a shot time at least, a very large military if, touch wood, we ever went into all out war. As I said this does not make us weaker, but stronger. Each man will be better and we can afford better equipment. Our new Naval programme with Tawasia will go ahead quicker meaning our Navy will have more advanced ships by the end of the year."

The news has been positive and many people see it as the right decision in a changing world were power is no longer dictated by military strength but economic power.
