(OOC Vote twice)

A new law has passed through Parliament which creates a new office in Courlundish politics. The Governor-Mayor of Courlund City State centers means the nation is divided into 20 Governorships, each centering around one of the 17 major cities, and three Special Case cities, of the nation. These Governorships will allow Courlund to be administrated easily and offer another voice for the Courlundish. The Governor-Mayors powers have been clearly outlined in the below document:

The Governor-Mayor acts as leader of his/her respective Governorship. He our she may run for any political party or as an independent and will be elected by a majority vote. Due to the large powers vested in the Governor he or she must win 50% of the votes to be elected. If this does not happen then the candidate with the least votes is forced out of the running. A Governor may run for office as many times as he or she likes.

The Governor-Mayor acts as head of the Governorships Government, head of the Governorship Police Force, Is able to pardon any criminal, raise a national guard, increase or decrease Governorship Taxes, declare a state of emergency. The main reason for these extensive powers is to make the Government less centralised and allow local people more say in their local Government.

The Governor must attend, at least once a month, the Governor Council. The President is the had of this Council and acts as Chairman.

All candidates must declare a running mate and if the candidate wins this person is made Mayor-Below.

All four major parties are putting forward a candidate in each seat except for the national party who has no candidate in Babel, a notorious Capitalist strong hold.

The surprising and clear winner of the election is the National Party. It is said the Socialist and Communist Government coalition, two very leftist parties, are rather worried of this quick uprising by the National Party. who have won 11 out of a possible 20 seats making them the major player in local politics and the likely winner of the next general election, 49 AE, in all other seats the national party came second and some people are thinking about calling a vote of no confidence against the ruling coalition.

Now one of the most powerful people in the Country, Avram Yankel leader of the national party can now show his party have been solidified by the population, they are no longer a minority party. We spoke to him today. "So, Mr Yankel. You must be very happy after years of struggle your party is now the undisputed opposition in Courlund. If this had been the General election they you would of been President now."

"Yes, Sarah I would be. And because of this we think the Coalition should allow the National Party two Cabinet positions. After all we have been validated by the Public."

"If you became President some time, which nations would you want to have relations with?" She asked. "Well Jewish nations would be our main concern and then other Far Right parties. We do not think we are better than any other people but Courlunders must come first in Courlund, as Germaninas must in Germania and Bromans in the Broman Empire."

So far no news of what other nations think of this sharp turn in Courlundish Politics.

Is this face the future President?
