The Special Police department arrested dozens of people today all over Nentsia. The Commissar of Interior, Sergey Katyushkin, has announced that he has launched the attack on the suspected ''shadow'' government that haunted Nentsia from 33Æ to 39Æ.

According to the Vladimirsk Metropolitan Police, the following ''big'' shots have been arrested:

- David Andonev, political leader of the Slavophile Party (accused of extortion of the Nentsian state, abuse of power)
- Grigori Nevelyev, the highest executive of the ISB (secret service) (accused of high Treason against the state, forming a criminal organization, plotting against the state, abuse of power, corruption, ordering assassinations, threatening national security)
- Roman Aleksashkin, the biggest business tycoon of the country (accused of bribing government officials, abuse of power, fraude)
- Konstantin Tsylenko, highest executive of the ''Komandy Paramilitary Police Unit'', and former spy according to some (accused of assassination, abuse of government organizations and power, espionage, High Treason, extortion)
- Andrey Guzhnigaev, current Marshall of the Nentsian armed forces, (accused of abuse of power, corruption, plotting against the state, High Treason)
- Fyodor Tukachenko, Admiral of the Nentsian navy (accused of plotting against the state, High Treason)
- and 22 other politicians, journalists, businessmen, military officers and ISB personnel are arrested.

Rumors say that Tsar Alexander and patriarch Athanasius were also involved in this underground network. But they are untouchable in their current positions for any criminal investigation.

This is the biggest trial in Nentsian history, where as many as 17 people are charged with ''High Treason against the state''.

The arrest of ISB director Nevelyev has come like a shock to the people. Nevelyev always played a role as a background figure, who secured the state behind the scenes. The heaviest charges are made against him, as he is seen as the brain behind the underground network. Nevelyev would have constantly used his influence in the ISB to threaten the government, and he even eliminated some of his opponents with ISB operatives.

Nevelyev has been suspended from the ISB immediately. Commissar Katyushkin is currently trying to find a possibility to charge the ISB as an organization too, for its involvement in illegal acts against the state such as assassination, kidnapping, extortion, abuse of power, violating privacy at large scale, plotting against the state, disobedience to the government etc etc.

The Slavophile party calls the arrests and accusations a disgrace, an attempt by the LDPPE to decapitate the conservative political network in Nentsia. They call it political repression, an act of totalitarianism.

Most other parties welcome the trials, they see it as a new chance for justice to prevail in Nentsia.

The police released today that a few suspects in the ''Shadow Government case'' have confessed their crimes. They offered to testify against higher ranking suspects such as Grigori Nevelyev, Roman Aleksashkin and Andrey Guzhnigaev.

The ISB, the intelligence agency of Nentsia, has officially sacked executive director Grigori Nevelyev for his suspected involvement in this case.

''Nevelyev has made the ISB agency one of the best of its kind in Renatia. But with his involvement in this case, whether he is guilty or not, he has severely damaged the reputation of the ISB. There is no other option but to sack him as director.'' said the chairman of the ISB board.

Nevelyev became the head of the ISB in 29Æ, which was formed by former premier and Slavophile party leader Vladimir Federov.
In 33Æ, Nevelyev personally assisted Alexander I to become the legitimite Tsar of Nentsia. After the death of Vladimir Federov in exile, Nevelyev would have used his influence to gain political, military and economic power behind the scenes.
Marshall Guzhnigaev, Admiral Tukachenko, Roman Aleksashkin, David Andonev and dozens of other officials and businessmen would have played key roles in this process.
Some say that Tsar Alexander and Patriarch Athanasius also played a big role in this.

More information was uncovered today.
According to some declarations of the suspects in this case, the Nentsian plane accident above Germanian soil was an act by the shadow government in an attempt to provoke Germania to war. During the time of the accident, Konstantin Tsylenko was on a Nentsian Carrier near Tekarvesh. Tsylenko is currently one of the suspects, he is a former spy and current head of the Komandy (Counter-Terrorist-organization).
This Tsylenko is also suspected of assassinating two naval officers on that carrier, and the assassinations on several other individuals who were enemies of Nevelyev.

When the planes were shot down, Tsylenko took over command on the nearest naval command ship. He ordered all nearby UNP units to try to take out the Nentsian downed pilots. It is unknown if this was actually carried out.

David Andonev, commissar of Defence at that time, deliberately kept the news of downed planes away from the premier at that time: Kovacheva. Andonev wanted to give Tsylenko a chance to provoke the Germanians even more without diplomatic interference of the government.

Andonev also put pressure on Kovacheva to go to war against the NST.

Last night, the Nentsian Supreme State Duma proposed to ban David Andonev from the Duma due to his conspiring against the state.
The Slavophiles are against, but the SP, NKP, SDRP and LDPPE are for the motion.

Today, the attorney general has announced it wants a penalty of life imprissonment for Grigori Nevelyev, the masterbrain behind the shadow government that sabotaged the empire.
Nevelyev still denies he was part of any shadow network, that ran the country covertly. Nevelyev claims the assassinations committed by his ISB agency were authorized by the Commissar of Interior at the time, and completely in the interest of national security.

Nevelyev and his lawyer claim that it were Germanian spies who played the ISB, the military and the government out against each other. The attorney general and the prosecuters were not impressed. They say Nevelyev is trained in manipulation, a professional liar.

Other suspects, such as Admiral Fedor Tukachenko and Marshal Andrey Guzhnigaev could even get death penalty for their High Treason while in duty of the Nentsian military. Tukachenko has decided to remain silent during the process, but Guzhnigaev has confessed to his crimes and involvement. He will most likely be sentenced to execution by firing squad by the army.

It is not known what other suspects will get as sentence.

Today, the jury has given its verdict about all the suspects who were suspected of having operated as a shadow government.

- David Andonev, political leader of the Slavophile Party (accused of extortion of the Nentsian state, abuse of power, plotting against the state) GUILTY 3× (minimal sentence: 8 years of imprissonment)

- Grigori Nevelyev, the highest executive of the ISB (secret service) (accused of high Treason against the state, forming a criminal organization, plotting against the state, abuse of power, corruption, ordering assassinations, threatening national security) GUILTY 7× (minimal sentence: 18 years imprissonment)

- Roman Aleksashkin, the biggest business tycoon of the country (accused of bribing government officials, abuse of power, fraude) GUILTY 1× (bribing) (minimal sentence: Fine of $625 000)

- Konstantin Tsylenko, highest executive of the ''Komandy Paramilitary Police Unit'', and former spy according to some (accused of assassination, abuse of government organizations and power, espionage, High Treason, extortion)
GUILTY 5× (minimal sentence: Life imprissonment)

- Andrey Guzhnigaev, current Marshall of the Nentsian armed forces, (accused of abuse of power, corruption, plotting against the state, High Treason) GUILTY 4× (minimal sentence: 18 years imprissonment/execution by firing squad if military law is applied)

- Fyodor Tukachenko, Admiral of the Nentsian navy (accused of plotting against the state, High Treason) GUILTY 2× (minimal sentence: 16 years imprissonment/execution by firing squad if military law is applied)

Of the 22 other suspects, including journalists, executives, agents, military officers and businessmen, 16 have been found guilty. The average minimal sentence they can get is 8 years imprissonment.

Outside the court, people had mixed feelings. Yes, justice prevailed, but nobody had ever noticed anything of the crimes comitted by these men. The people are shocked to hear what has been happening behind the political scenes between 33 and 39Æ.

''The biggest scandal of this scandal is, is that we never even noticed such crimes were being committed by men we all trusted.'' said a critical journalist.

''For years our country was a Kleptocracy, ruled by the big men on which our elected government relied. We have been ruled by the rats and thieves of society. They shoot treat the convicted men as true enemies of the empire. I despise them more than Dack Korto. Korto at least dares to show his face when he is exploiting his own people. These men hid themselves from the cameras, and pretended to be trustworthy men. Words cannot describe my anger.'' wrote a columnist.

''I never believed we really had organized crime in our country. Only some small organized street gangs. But in the past weeks, I have been proven wrong. The most organized criminal gang in our history managed to rule our contry from behind the scenes. The Sicilian mafia could not do it any better themselves. I begin to believe, this shadow government was the actual cause of all our problems; the wars, instable governments, economic recession.
Thank God we have Nenetskin as prime minister now. And thank God the shadow government is not there to ruin his term in office too.'' said a police commissar in an interview.
