"I see that you rejected the Tekarveshi application for occupation," mused Thorn, as he mixed his tea. Arval had never been in the Cariva Palace before. Thorn thought that the Cabinet should be treated to some luxury, so he had had the Visitor's Wing made. It contained a dining room, a lounge and a meeting room. "We were a mild Empire when we controlled Rondora and Thresia. It was not the best for Moranus Vera. We do better when we are governing each zone autonomously. I feel Eva and Ana are doing very well..." "What are your thoughts on the naval attack? So far Division Two is moored in the Tevéa docks. Perhaps we send the Army over?" "No. Not until Aus'tiana say the word." "Fair enough... I think it's funny, don't you, our law... That we have full say over the military in the end..." Arval nodded. Something about the man seemed...troubled to Thorn. But he shook it off. "I'm off to Tuistan soon, so you are in pretty much rule over the Kingdom. Make wise choices Arval." "I shall, Your Highness. I shall consult with you on the more difficult decisions." The two preformed the Movarian 'Goodbye' action. Thorn kissed his finger and placed it on Arval's forehead and vice versa. Then he left for his plane. |

The first thing that shocked General Armae was that Arval Cantor had burst into the military command without permission. Still getting used to the face of the new Prime Minister, he had forgiven this. "As I am sure you know, it lies with me to determine the military's movements if I deem it fit," said the Prime Minister, looking in the mirror and scowling. "Yes, it makes our law so different to others." "It has come to my attention that we are waiting for the Aus'tianan plea for help to help them. Our Division Two is moored in Tevéa, and Air Force Division Two are preparing for launch." "Correct." "I want to help Tekarvesh, not sit idly by. I want Naval Division Two en route to Southern Ardania. I wand Ari Force Division Two over Havala within the hour. Also, make sure Army Division One makes it to the mainland. We are helping Aus'tiana, whether they want it or not." Edited by Eleben, 5 Jun 2010, 05:24 PM.

When Armae caught up to the Prime Minister he was supporting himself against the exit of the military command center. "Mister Prime Minister, are you alright?" he called. Arval turned around and smiled. It seemed, different, than his smile inside. His eyes seemed brighter, his face however gave away worry. "Yes, yes..." he seemed confused. "I just wanted to tell you that your orders were executed. The Navy is en route to Southern Ardania, the Army is leaving the Glisador Pool and the Air Force is nearing midpoint over the Resserve Sea." The Prime Minister bit his lower lip, "Good, I suppose..." He glanced at his watch, "I must be going. Address the nation on this issue..." With that the General was left feeling like the Prime Minister had no clue what was going on. |

Kraal Novoro jumped as the heavy cell door opened. A man entered, dressed very smartly and had a soft look on his face. His blue eyes shone softly as he took a seat on his bed. The cell wasn't squalid. It had a single bed, a room for the toilet, and a table and chair. The walls were stone, and the door was metal with a barred window. Another window on the wall gave Novoro a small view of the river outside. "Greetings, Mister Novoro, my name is Arval Cantor. I am the PRime Minister of Moranus Vera." "Why am I here?" "I am afraid this is where you will live. Though in Eleben you have been exiled and are hated, you broke no Movarian law. So I think you will be free to go." The cell was empty but for both of them. Novoro was about to say thank you, but something odd happened. The Prime Minister was looking at a mirror that hung over a sink in Novoro's bathroom. His expression looked pained, then he closed his eyes as if he was hit, then he opened. He seemed angry, and sneered at Novoro. "But then again, Eleben are great friends of ours. We wouldn't want a madman like yourself running amok here." He stood up, and glared at Novoro, "Yes. You started war. In our book, that is enough to be executed. We allow the death penalty, you know..." A few hours later, the body of Kraal Novoro was placed in a coffin in the prison grounds. A message was sent to the Elebeneese government. "Kraal... I like the name," said Cantor. He looked into the mirror, and a face that wasn't his glared back. Scared, angry. It banged on the glass as if trapped behind. No one but he could see it of course. Arval Cantor smiled and got in a private jet to return to Thesala to address the public. |

The Prime Minister walked onto the stage. Unusually for him, he looked a lot more mean than usual. But the people didn't notice. Whenever a speech like this was to be made, the speaker would walk out onto the balcony of the Royal Parliament Buildings. They would speak, people would applaud, and then life would be normal. Some big things happened on this balcony. Yaria Shadala announced the death of her husband, the Nentsian and Elebeneese Generals had announced Moranus Vera under their rule, the terrorist 'El' and Thorn had been shot... Arval Cantor opened out his arms and the crowd settled. "When Nentsia pulled out of the war, we were to follow. But I made the difficult choice to re-insert ourselves into the war. Our friends in Aus'tiana and Tekarvesh need us, and we just sit back and watch? No. I want to help our fellow human beings. "This is an official decree to the army that have arrived in Teela to go ahead and-" Cantor stopped as he caught his reflection in the window of a building to his right. For a moment, the kind face was banging, the next it was a cold glare and a silent scream. "...And, and... It is in Moranus Vera's best interest to not fight actively in the war any longer. The air force will be called back, and the army will aid the cities along the Tekarveshi western seaboard. The navy can be called back." He turned abruptly and walked back inside the RPB. He ran into the Prime Minister's Quarters and looked into the floor to ceiling mirror. A reflection stared back, but not an exact copy of him. "What are you doing! I thought we agreed no stunts like this!" "Like what?" came the cool voice in the mirror, "I am liberating a poor nation." "You are making Moranus Vera a warmongering nation, which we are not! Legatus would be ashamed!" "If you believe in Legatus, which I do not. Face it Arval, you are losing control of your own body to me." "No, you listen to me! This is my body, my mind, my life!" "I have a name for myself. Kraal. I liked the name, installs power." "Are you even listening to me?" hissed Arval, "When we were younger it was sporadic. You popped up to defend me from time to time from bullies. You were supposed to be imaginary!" "That's what you wanted to believe, but now I'm here to stay!" With that he banged from behind the mirror. The cool stature, the angry face, the sneer, all turned into Arval. Kraal sneered and turned away from the mirror. General Armae had seen this rapid change from the front of the crowd. He noticed the puzzlement in his expression. Was the Prime Minister okay? What was wrong? As a high ranking official to Moranus Vera, he felt it was his duty to find out. For the nation and the people. |

Armae didn't feel proud following the Prime Minister around like this, but he had contacted an old friend to help him. Detective Muria from Eleben. He felt that he should have an accomplice, to justify anything he found out. Plus, Muria was very good at the whole snooping thing, even when she was younger. "Okay, he's getting into his limo. We'll follow him." They were in an alley in Thesala facing the Royal Parliament Building. A limo pulle dup and was now moving away, towards the coastline. "He's probably heading to Cariva to meet with Eva. Her arrival was publicised on the TV today. She's planning something remarkable for Moranus Vera. She needs to discuss it with Cantor." "What is it? The last time the Princess did something active she nearly brought the Kingdom to war." "Remember she was being blackmailed," Muria said, "Come on, and drive slower. We'll stop and follow on foot once we get closer to the hills." Cantor looked at the beauty of the palace built into the tall hill. A waterfall fell beside it into a ravine. The only way to get to the palace was over a natural bridge. It looked unstable, but was very strong. The limo crossed the natural formed bridge carefully, a track on a rock face that looked ready to collapse. Cantor smiled to himself. He glanced into the driver's mirror. The reflection of Arval Cantor stared back, looking scared. "Let me out here Driver." He got out at the castle gates. They opened slowly, and he stepped inside. It wasn't very wide, but tall. There was a number of spare castles built near the main palace, the quarters of Princess Ana and Eva. Thorn, as King, slept in the Monarch's Quarters. Climbing up the velvet covered steps, he took a turn into one of the castles. Eva's Quarters. Princess Eva loved the colour red. As Cantor entered the lounge he was struck by the fire, the crimson couches, scarlet walls. Eva herself was dressed in an alluring ruby dress. Cantor fought back an urge; he couldn't be a monster around Eva. She reminded him of a poisonous plant; beautiful and deadly. "Prime Minister," said Eva, "Take a seat. Allow me to give you some refreshments." Armae and Muria were granted access on the grounds that Armae was the General of the Movarian Army. They had entered the castle and planned to listen in on the conversation between Eva and Cantor. "If anyone catches us, we'll lose our jobs..." The Quarters of Eva lay at the end of a corridor. In one door was a lounge, the other led elsewhere. The two entered this room, and realised it was a closet. "This probably ends up in Eva's room," Muria said, "Look there. An air vent... Tell me again why you're so adamant of revealing Cantor?" "My hunches are usually right... I knew that my father had a secret, he was having an affair. I also found out that my mother was depressed... Something happened during that speech yesterday. I'm discovering what it is. for the people. Because of his brash decisions, more Germanians had to die than necessary. He's up to no good." "Then I'll use my skills to find out," said Muria, and winked. "My plan is simple," said Eva, rather business like, "I plan to help the Elebeneese rebuilt their port city. I'll send over ships and aid and rebuild their port. Crucian Port is where I spent my time in hiding, and the Elebeneese were a lot of help to Moranus Vera. It's the least I could do to help them... But there is one thing..." "What's that, Your Majesty." "The Government were very upset by your decision to kill Kraal Novoro. They highly disapprove. When I contacted them they were livid. Death isn't in their Constitution. If they hear your say on this, they may calm down. Could you?" "Why of course, Princess Eva." Cantor rose and kissed the Revetta Ring on Eva's finger. Ever since it was stolen, Eva usually wore the red gem on her finger to avoid it being stolen again. Cantor rose and left. "The Princess wants to send aid to Eleben. But the Elebeneese are furious because we killed their exiled prisoner. Cantor is going to speak with them." "What do we do then?" "I don't see why we should follow him to his office and see what he says... Let's just go then." They left the office and stopped when they saw the man. He was staring at a mirror on the wall and speaking to it. "I know exactly what to do, and you're too weak to stop me." He stopped, as if listening. Then he dropped to his knees. When he looked up, he looked more worried, more scared and ran away. "What's your take on that?" asked the General. "We'll ask a doctor..." |

Royal Parliament Building, Thesala Cantor exhaled softly. He had been listening to what Eva had said to Kraal, as he now called himself. He needed to talk to the Elebeneese Empire about Movarian aid going to Crucian Port. He knew he could do this; talking to foreign dignitaries was what he was best at. Arval Cantor was in the room where the Prime Minister or King could set up video conferences with foreign nations. A telegram had been sent to the Elebeneese Emperor who would be contacting him soon. The large black screen was blank, but Cantor desperately fought with the menacing reflection gazing back at him. In his own home, Arval had removed all mirrors by throwing them out or painting over the permanent ones. It was getting increasingly harder to control his other half. Thesala Hospital, Thesala "From what you're telling me, it sounds like a severe case of Split Personality Disorder. The person you're telling me about thinks that there are two people living in the brain. Only one side can dominate the brain at one time, and the other must speak to him. They must see each other in mirrors. An illusion. Now if you would excuse me..." The Doctor, named Amaedus, returned to the hospital . "Split Personality Disorder..." muttered Muria. "We have two Prime Ministers," gasped Armae. Royal Parliament Building, Thesala "Ah, Prime Minister Cantor. It's pleasant to hear from the Kingdom of Moranus Vera again." "Emperor Dosia. It truly is an honour," Cantor said, bowing his head. He looked at the corner of the screen, and was dismayed when he saw that it was reflective. The half of Kraal's face gazed back. "It is a good thing that you did ring," Dosia said, "Our government are very unsettled by the recent decision by your Kingdom to execute our prisoner. By our laws, death to another living thing is forbidden." As the Emperor explained this, Cantor was desperately trying to listen to him, and resist the creeping feeling of Kraal Cantor inside of him. "...and although we cut down trees we make up for it by a process of afforestation, are you in Moranus Vera not familiar with our laws?" "Of course, Emperor, but here in Moranus Vera we...we..." A zooming feeling inside of him. He held his breath, but a feeling of falling came over him... The he felt asleep... "Here in Moranus Vera, we see those who start wars as liable to the death penalty. Although he did not start a war, he brought your nation into one." "I see your point, but our punishment was exile. Although we claimed him as no longer Elebeneese, he was still our responsibility. Our people rejoice, but many also see the injustice of death. We never questioned your law in Moranus Vera, but this is now the second occasion in which a foreign power has executed another one of our people. It is unacceptable. We demand an apology." Kraal sneered, "I am sorry, Emperor Dosia, but we will not accept this blatant abuse to our law." The Emperor looked dumbstruck, "You sit there and speak to me as if a friend? Moranus Vera has not been 'friends' with Eleben for years now. Trade recommenced, but your sailors still scorn us, still hate us. "Eleben wants nothing to do with your nation any longer." The screen went blank, and Kraal sent another message. This time to King Thorn and Princess Eva: The Elebeneese will allow our ships access to their waters to allow aid to be sent. Dispatch our navy to Elebeneese waters to allow aid to be given to their port. |

Drangin Sea, Elebeneese Waters Three HMS Shadala naval ships were heading to Crucian Port to send aid to the people. According to the Prime Minister, Eleben was okay with Movarian Aid in the area of the Empire, so Eva had began her first act of stand-in monarch to help the area burned by the Kindreds. The Elebeneese however were going crazy. Emperor Dosia was alerted to what was happening in the military base outside of Morunda. A digital map of Vaaryn was up on a screen. A man zoomed in to the northern Vaarynite coast so show the Emperor what was happening. Three naval ships were heading towards the nation. Dosia knew it was a war threat. Why else would the Kingdom send naval ships? The Prime Minister had insulted Elebeneese culture and breezily accepted that he was. Did the Emperor provoke war? That didn't matter. They needed to react. A telegram was sent to the Movarian Prime Minister: Your naval attack, if it is one, must stop now. If not, then we will retaliate. Kraal Cantor replied simply: I shall not pull back the advance of the Movarian fleet. Within an hour, the Movarian fleet had been surrounded by planes. The naval officers were arrested and the ships destroyed. The Elebeneese Imperial Fleet was near Western Vertadoría at this stage. The Air Force had to do the work. From: Emperor Ernor Dosia To: Princess Eva Shadala Your naval ships did not retreat when we asked them to. We took severe action. Do not respond with a military action or it will be taken as an act of war. |

Princess Eva was outraged. "Why would they accept aid and then attack us? It makes absolutely no sense!" "Princess, I am as deeply shocked as you are. However, we simply cannot let this slide. We must press for the officers' release." "I have Arval. The Elebeneese won't listen. They refuse to give them back until they 'tell the truth'. They think that us giving them aid is a lie. What's your take on this, Prime Minister Cantor?" Cantor ignored the banging and yelling from the mirror in the office. He was calm and cool when he said; "I told them about the aid. Emperor Dosia must be looking for a reason to declare war. Perhaps he's scorned after our occupation? I do not know. They were very angry when they heard Novoro was dead. Revenge? You know the Elebeneese." "Yes... I do," said Eva, "Cantor. As Thorn is in Ellesméra and I myself don't have the qualifications to lead an army, I want to give you power. General Armae, Admiral Comicci and Chief Durium are under your command." "NO!" yelled Arval. Kraal gave a sneaky look as he left the room. The Air Force was dispatched. Divisions One and Three split up over Jogen. Division One struck Crucian Port and the outskirts of Julus. Division Two bombed Peramlin and Aplora. The Elebeneese Air Force was brutal after that. They dropped bomb after bomb on Avoria and Taro. Most of the people had been evacuated, but not all escaped the cities in time. The Elebeneese planes fell back. Two days later Armae contacted Princess Ana. She was in the kitchens when he entered. "Ah, General Armae. May I interest you in some Nentsian fruit cake?" "Princess Ana, it has come to my attention that Prime Minister Cantor let the bombings on Julus and Crucian without any permission from the King or the Chief of the Air Force." "Yes. He has been granted full access, as Eva and I do not have the authority." "There is something I need to tell you..." ~~~ "Split Personality? Wait, you were intruding on Eva's private-" "We needed to! I saw him change during the speech about Tekarvesh. I needed to confirm... Where is he now?" "I do not know his current whereabouts. I shall contact Eva." Kraal Cantor smiled nicely at the guard as he drove into the Movarian Nuclear Research Facility. |

MNRF"KRAAL! You can't do this!" "As Prime Minister, I think I should do whatever it takes to protect our Kingdom. I swore it to the King." "But this is madness! You will maybe stop war, our you will have Moranus Vera completely taken down by the J.N.R., U.N.P. and every other nation! Eriadu and Nentsia especially will be at our throats. You're going to ruin the Kingdom!" "Well...maybe I do like a little chaos." Nuclear launch initiated. Countdown commencing. Ten...Nine... Cariva Palace"General Armae, get to the MNRF asap. I fear a warhead has been initiated," Eva looked horrified, haunted, and livid. Eight...Seven...Six... Morunda, Eleben"Prepare the Army. We shall land on their western coast within the week. As for what's happening in the Tropic Strait, we haven't engaged enemies yet. Our economy shouldn't suffer and no one should die yet," Dosia was worried, and tired. MNRFFive...Four... Red lights were flashing, a klaxon was sounding. Personnel were running to the control room, but the door was locked. Kraal Cantor sneered at his alter ego. Morunda, Eleben"Sir, radio transmition seems to be locked over Vaaryn. What do you think it is...?" said the General. "No...They wouldn't..." MNRFThree... At this stage, on the field in front of them, a nuclear missile began to slowly rise from an underground chamber. Red topped, white body, 'Moranus Vera' written across it in gold, the second missile to rise from beneath the Kingdom began to shoot out fire from it's engines. ...Two...One "NO!" screamed Arval. "No..." gasped Ana. "No..." whispered Dosia. The missile shot off into the air. It zoomed across the land. The people in Boruna saw it. The Nentsians saw it. The people of Darwinia saw it. Soon people from Jogen saw it zooming over Jetpakistan. Even Eriadu saw it in the far distance. Nádinel, Ellesméra, Sorian Empire The people were happy that day. The sun was climbing, people were working, children playing. Many of them didn't remember the war, or the Cold War. Indeed, these people lived in peace now. A trail of smoke was seen in the far distance, like a plane. It moved to fast, however, and when news of a nuclear warhead over Vaaryn was sounded people panicked and watched in silence. Silence followed as it struck somewhere in Sarmana. Silence as they saw the cloud rise. Silence as they heard screams from those from Sarmana. Silence as Sarmana was hit by a nuclear missile.
