![]() ''The diplomatic relationship between Nentsia and Aus'tiana has severely been damaged by chancellor Sha'krios'' That is what the new Commissar of Foreign affairs Sergey Katyushkin said in an interview. They call us traitors, but they are the ones to leave the UNP. After the Nentsian withdrawal from the Germanic conflict, the Aus'tianan government called our Tsar-batyushka a traitor. Our batyushka responded to these allegations. ''We entered a war to avenge the injustice done against UNP and Aus'tianan diplomats. We did not know we started a war that would only bring destruction. Sha'krios speaks about fighting for liberation, dying for freedom. But I am the tsar-father of the people and I have to decide what is best for only my people. And for my people, it was best to stop letting them suffer under the war efforts. Enough sons and fathers have been killed on foreign soil. Enough mothers and children have no food no money because we had to pay the tanks and the planes. As a father of the empire, I cannot watch my people suffering like that. I had two options: lock myself up in the palace so that I would not see horrors, or stop the war. I chose for the last option. I urge my Aus'tianan colleagues to do the same. Their resignation from the UNP is their way to punish me for being a father to my people. The UNP had nothing to do with the war. With the UNP, we could have protected them from enemy invasions. Now, Aus'tiana is on its own. It is the consequence of their insultive foreign policy to us. Nentsia believes in a peaceful coexistence with the Germanic Reich, as long as they stay away from us. If the Aus'tianans are so intend on bringing peace and freedom, why do they let the CFK and the NST invade Vertadoria, which is just as defenseless as Tekarvesh? Why do they let the Gebetans attack the Gathite? Sha'krios wants to fight a war, which is bigger than he even realizes. He does not have the qualities that it takes to be a strong and great leader.'' |

![]() Aus'tiana Broadcasting Group Live from As'krios Ovar 13, 39AE ![]() On the Nentsian cut-and-run policy in the Tekarveshi Liberation War, we had an exclusive interview with Director of Foreign Relations Al'en Ul'arel discussing the future of Nentsian relations as well as the implications of the Aus'tianian withdrawal from the United Nations of Peacekeeping. Hello, Director Ul'arel. Thank you for being here. Thank you for having me, Ms. Os'delen. Regarding the Nentsian response to the Chancellor's decision to rescind our membership in the UNP, how do you think this affects Aus'tianian-Nentsian relations? Well I'd first like to point out a number of fallacies in the Tsar's testimony that he gave to the Nentsian news service. He reasons that the Nentsians entered an armed conflict with the Germanians in order to take revenge on Germania for the damages done at the Barneveld Peace and Reconciliation Conference, however he said, and I quote, that "[he didn't] know [he] started a war that would only bring destruction." I would also like to note that he acknowledged the Aus'tianian justification for the war, and I quote again, "[the Chancellor] speaks about fighting for liberation, dying for freedom." Not only is the Tsar's view for Tekarveshi independence cynical at best, but he criticizes our continued dedication to their freedom while vainly attempting to denounce their chance for freedom and liberty from the Germanian threat. The Tsar goes on about the hardships in his own lands and the sacrifice his people had to make to do even this small part of the war, however he totally disregards the suffering of the Tekarveshi people. Are they not deserving of freedom? Of liberty? Of Independence? Needless to say, our relations with the Tsardom has been badly damaged and our withdrawal of membership from the UNP is only a small part of the greater actions resulting from that decision. Indeed. What do you think of the Tsar's comment that "Aus'tiana is [now] on its own"? I think it is a barely veiled threat, however they underestimate the strength and willingness to fight for freedom in the Aus'tianian patriot that I have over the course of my life. I was there when we took up arms as teens against the dictatorships, I was there when we fought for our freedom. We are stronger than he would think, and the continual development of our friendship with our friends the Courlundish will only ever make us stronger. Interesting. The Tsar noted the lack of Aus'tianian action in the Vertadorian Crisis and the ongoing Gebetan Occupation War. What are your comments on that? (Laughs) I just love how the Nentsians have not only withdrawn their forces from the Tekarveshi Liberation but go on to criticize us for not solving everyone's problems. With Nentsian allegiance we could have had a chance to stop the war in Gath or even contribute something towards peace in the Tropic Straight, however Aus'tiana is simply not big enough to act as a righteous force in the world for everyone. We are doing our small part in the Tekarveshi Liberation, however the Tsar does nothing and criticizes others for not doing enough. One last question, Director. The Nentsian Tsar criticized Chancellor Baltar Sha'krios, saying that "he does not have the qualities that it takes to be a strong and great leader." What are your thoughts on this? That is an excellent question, and I would like to respond by saying that the Democratic Republic of Aus'tiana, much unlike the Tsardom of Nentsia, is a nation that relies on the involvement and participation of all its people in the political process in order to operate. The Tsardom, which is a blatant and unashamed dictatorship, vests all power, authority, and responsibility to one person. Even if his comments were true, the strength and power of the great nation of Aus'tiana cannot be judged on the merits of one man, and lies in the personal power of all its citizens. I assure you, we are a great and strong nation indeed! Well then, thank you for being here with us, Director. Thank you, Ms. Os'delen. Velen Os'delen, ABG Edited by Freeman, 31 May 2010, 12:55 PM.

After the assembly with the Boyar Duma (upper house), many nobles and high ranking men left the byzantine-baroque room with all its paintings and decorations. The assembly was over for today. Tsar Alexander himself and his wife, Ekatarina Vasilyevna, attended the meeting. The election results for the Supreme State Duma (lower house) had to be approved by the Boyars. Alexander was happy to see that his friends....I mean assembly, approved the new State Duma election results. The monarchist coalition of Slavophiles and the Catholic Orthodox had won, with 52% of the votes. A victory for the Slavophiles was a victory for Alexander. As the Tsar knew the press attended the assembly as well, he presented himself once again as the perfect statesman. After the assembly, the Tsar and his wife took the time to have a word with the press. The tsars popularity wasn't that high anymore, now he had limited the powers of the people. He did everything to regain the sympathy of the people, stopping the war with Germania was part of that campaign. The people were against it, so Alexander was against it too. Not really. If the people allowed him, he would do everything to crush the Germanic Reich under his black boot. ''Your highness, the Aus'tianan government has replied to your reactions in the media. The Director of foreign relations said 'Not only is the Tsar's view for Tekarveshi independence cynical at best, but he criticizes our continued dedication to their freedom while vainly attempting to denounce their chance for freedom and liberty from the Germanian threat.' What is your response to that?'' The Tsar was silent for a moment or two. His blood began to boil. Again flashes went through his mind. But Alexander quickly managed to lock these emotions up. For later. he thought. The Tsar began to smile, in a mysterious way. ''The Aus'tianans have every interest in twisting my words, giving my words a negative charge. Am I cynical now? I may hope that I was not cynical when I sent 70 000 of our sons to the Germanic Reich. The Aus'tianans might see it as a game, but war for me is nothing like that. I would never be cynical regarding subjects like these. The Tekarveshi are dear to me, and I am doing what I can to help the Morani's fighting the Germanians. But what the Aus'tianans don't seem to understand is that not every country on this planet is as rich as theirs. We may have a big empire, but the empire is in serious decay. Every day, people starve. Every day, people die because they cannot afford to live. That happens in my empire. We need every penny that we can find to keep our heads above the water. The Aus'tianans can swim in their money. Fighting overseas wars is easy to finance for them. For us it just means we have to eat even less than we had. Like I said: they punish me for being a father to my people.'' The journalists were all writing the answer down, the cameras were rolling. ''According to the Aus'tianan director, the suffering of the Nentsians is nothing compared to the suffer of the Tekarveshi. Isn't that, said in other words, the same as saying we are pussies?'' The other journalists laughed, even the Tsar laughed. His wife couldn't appreciate the joke. She wanted to say something but the Tsar silenced her gently. ''No, I still believe the Aus'tianans don't mean to say that. We should not forget how valuable our friendship....was. They know just like we do that the Aus'tianans would not know who to survive in the northern lands of Nentsia, where the people hunt for their own meal. The Aus'tianans would not know how to overcome the daily hardships of Kobolevsk or Dvyev. They can call us anything they like, but we are certainly not cowards or ...pussies as you say it, mr Khomshchev.'' The journalists laughed again. It was a real men's conversation. A journalist cited the Aus'tianan director. ''The director said: 'our relations with the Tsardom has been badly damaged and our withdrawal of membership from the UNP is only a small part of the greater actions resulting from that decision.' What do you think he means with that?'' The Tsar stopped laughing. Ekatarina recognized a look in his eyes, and she quickly answered the question. It would become her first political act...at age 24. ''It clearly states the Aus'tianans have formed a new international political agenda, that does not involve Nentsia anymore. Before you start making claims that the Aus'tianans intend on becomming our enemy, I'd rather say they want to improve their relationships with Courlund. Although I regret that we may not be part of their future plans anymore, I believe it is better for the empire to mind with its own business. Like my husband said, we have our own suffer here. We need to fix that, before we can even think of helping out others. The fact that we cannot fight at the moment, does not mean we do not support the Aus'tianans, even though the cause is lost.'' The journalists were stunned for a moment. Women in politics was not really common in Nentsia. Until today, Kovacheva was the only woman in national politics. Ekatarina was the surprise of the day. ''The director also admitted that Sha'krios is not the best leader in history, but he points out that the power of the people is much more important. He says that that is contrary to the Nentsian situation, where everything is based around the Tsar. We would be a ''blatant and unashamed dictatorship.'' What is your response on these accusations?'' The Tsar wanted to speak, but Ekatarina was to quick for him and answered the question. ''It is clear that the Aus'tianans know nothing of our culture. What kind of friends are that? They could have known that the Nentsian population needs to rely on strong leaders. I am not saying dictators, but the people want someone who will guide them. The Tsars, the communists, they were all strong leaders. Only my husband added democratic features to it. Every democratic experiment has devastating results in our nation.'' ''Do you have a last message for Aus'tiana?'' ''No. Only a question, or perhaps a request. I would like them to try and understand our decision, rather than coming up with insultive diplomatic actions.'' ''Thank you, Tsar and Tsaritsa.'' Edited by Nentsia, 31 May 2010, 03:55 PM.
