Six months have passed since the last King of Kethenecia passed away. King Viktor Eriksson left no descendent to occupy the throne, and the Royal Council decided to broke the traditional royal line to set up a new republic. After a month to mourn the lost King, they began the preparations to the first, and very hurried, elections.
Five months have passed since that, and today Christian Knorri, the former chancellor of the kingdom, assumed as President of the new Democratic Republic of Kethenecia. In his first speach as President, Knorri said that new jobs would be avaible in the course of a year, and that within his government he would open to the world to make new comercial pacts, so the country would get out from the deep financial hole where it is.
“Today Kethenecia enters to the world, we’re not anymore enclosed in our land, this age we’re living has a lot to offer us, and we will take all we can, to make a better Kethenecia, to make us better ourselves. We’re no longer trapped in the past, our eyes now look to the future, because our future is now. Long live to Kethenecia!.” – Said Knorri.
Rumours says that there are plans to nationalize the companies that extract peat, to turn the resource into the first exportation material in the history of Kethenecia.
