Welcome to Renatia! I hope you'll enjoy it here. To make your like easier, here's a few key points to help you find your way around. If you've stumbled upon this forum by mistake then Renatia is a region in the online nation-simulation game of NationStates. It is on this forum that we conduct the majority of our region's business. Government The Organic Law (constitution) of Renatia can be found here. It outlines the government makeup aswell as the roleplaying laws. The council (cabinet) of Renatia is split into four positions. The founder (myself) is named the Consul. The Consul is the head of state of the region, and is in charge of administrating the region. The Consul position is the only unelected one. The Grand Chancellor is the head of government and is responsible for overseeing and organising the government. The Secretary of the Interior is in charge of overseeing out of character affairs within the region, whilst the Secretary of Foreign Affairs is in charge of overseeing Renatia's relations with other regions. The Secretary of Roleplay is in charge of overseeing in character affairs, including moderating wars. An in depth breakdown of the ministerial positions can be found in the Organic Law. The House of Law Lords is Renatia's legislative body. They are responsible for discussing and voting on all new laws. A citizen must be a member of the House of Law Lords to run for office. Apply to be a Law Lord here. The House of Law Lords is led by the Speaker, who is elected from the house. The High Court is the highest (and only) court in Renatia. It presides over all types of disputes and is led by an elected Justice, named the Lord Justice. Elections are held every three months for the elected positions. Any Law Lord may run. N.B. - The Government of the region is strictly Out of Character and has no bearing on the roleplay world. Decisions made may effect how the roleplay runs, but will not effect things in a United Nations-esque way. N.B.2 - Likewise, the WA Delegate in NationStates is not a member of the Renatian government. The position is independent of the forums, including roleplay. The WA Delegate position is there for whoever wants it. The founder and/or government will not interfere unless in extreme circumstances. Roleplaying The key base of Renatia is Role Playing. This is where we assume the roles of our nations and their governments. We play out their actions and interactions. We do this in the roleplaying section of the forum. The section has five main areas. The first is International Incidents. This is where we role play the majority of our nations' interactions with each other. Things like War, Spying, etc take place here. The Diplomacy section is a subforum of International Incidents and is the place for all conferences, treaty discussions and such. National Happenings is where we role play non-international incidences. These can include (but aren't limited to) things like elections and media releases. Anything from arms to energy, banking to construction, are all organised in the Trade section. Here, we organise trade between our nations, companies within them, and even individuals. Databases and Cartography is split into two sections. Regional Mapping contains the official maps of the planet of Renatia, where we role play. In order to role play, you must have a plot on one of the maps. You'll need to supply the plot number, nation name, city names with a description of where you want them and which one is the capital. After that, the map will be updated asap but feel free to start rping before then. The second part of the Databases and Cartography section is the National Databases. In these, we keep all relevant information about our nations. Common features include a national factbook and military statistics, but it's really up to you. To apply for a Database, ask here. We also have a Personal RP board, where people can role play as individual people, as opposed to our nations, as we do elsewhere. Finally, is the OOC Board. Here we hold any out of character discussions so we don't clutter up in character threads. Other Finally, there's the other discussion area. It's here that we discuss anything and everything, NationStates and beyond. There's also the Spam Forum for more pointless threads. Abbreviations & Glossary of Terms On the forums and in NationStates generally, you may see some abbreviations and terms you don't understand. Here, I'll attempt to cover the main ones. Agabia - A large, southern, Renatian continent. Cartography - Map-making. Chancellor - The elected head of government in Renatia. Consul - The name given to the founder of Renatia. High Court - The judicial body of Renatia. Mediates IC and OOC conflicts and breaches of regional law. IC - In Character (Used to show we are speaking as our characters). IRL - In Real Life. You should probably point out that the WA doesn't have anything to do with the IC world. |

Hey D.S, I hate to be a bother but shouldn't we edit the part on Government where it says we still have an Interior Deputy, a Foreign Deputy & a Grand Chancellor & change it to just Region & Roleplay Minister??? Thanks

Hey D.S, I hate to be a bother again (I'm getting good at this) but shouldn't we add in the fact that we have now a speaker & High Court Justices into the Government somewhere? Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks.

What goes on in terms of people's economies? I noted that people are using RL examples to base their numbers off of, and in the Trade section people name prices for oil and such, so what goes on in that respect? P.S. My bad if this is unrelated to the above topic. |
