Im curious,do you really have to pay money to hear more and more of the tenents and beliefs in Scientology? Or do they have all their beliefs in Dianetics? Do you have to pay to become a preacher in Scientology?

Bascially yes. Every course, book, lecture, auditing session, etc. has an associated donation rate. The reason for this is because of the concept of ‘exchange’ within Scientology. The basic tenet of the exchange is that you do not get something for nothing. In Scientology there is a great deal of value attached to the Scientology materials (we are talking about claimed spiritual salvation after all) which necessitates the donations policy.
It is possible for people to obtain their courses, auditing and materials for free if they join staff. This is a very attractive proposition for many Scientologists who would otherwise not be able to afford the high prices many courses and materials command.

Or do they have all their beliefs in Dianetics?

Dianetics can be regarded as an introduction to the system. The basic core idea of Dianetics is that a persons traumatic memories can become restimulated causing a person to behave irrationally. Such memories are called ‘engrams’, and a person possessing such is called ‘abberated’. Dianetics is solely concerned with the physical being, whereas Scientology can be considered a form of Dianetics for the spirit or ‘thetan’. Scientology considers people to be immortal beings (called ‘thetans’) which can often have accumulated engrams on their ‘whole track’. Think of the ‘whole track’ of being a complete recording of a thetan’s experience and you have the general idea.

Since you could only become a ‘preacher’ is Scientology by being on staff your training and materials would be free.

Hello,
Thank you for offering this thread. Are you ok with me challenging scientology in a tasteful way?
I would like to ask some questions, but I do not want to offend you.

Goes well. And no, Gerry and co have not tried to use said laws since they don’t come into force until October.

First question, themadhair, are you a Scientologist?
If you are, what OT are you?

I can assure you madhair isn't a $cientologist, he is a member of an elite hacking group that are on steriods and terrorist group called Anonymous that has made it it's duty to bring down the cult for pissing off the Internet.

Cool, I was not clear on that.
Based on his posts, I would never have thought he was a scientologist. I just did not understand why he had a scientology section. So I wanted to clairify.

Can I ask you for an example of a post I’ve made that is incompatible with Scientology?

Be forewarned – the above question is very subtle and has a relevant point coming.

My understanding is the following:
Scientology (in the beginning) is accepting of other beliefs. That you are encouraged to "think for yourself".
It seems that in the lower stages of the Cult, positive affirmation is the tool of choice, used to "set the hook". Initially they will not condemn your beliefs, they simply will ignore them. But when you accept one of their "truths" there will be excitement, joy, acceptance, and a sense of belonging. Taking advantage of the human beings desire for acceptance seems to be the first step to taking over your life. When used on the weak, lonely, and/or ignorant. This can be an effective tool. Of course this gentle introduction is turned into something much more sinister later on, once they have control.

So to answer your question, none of your posts are incompatible with Scientology.
However, based on the nature of your posts, I do not see you as a person searching for acceptance that would make an ideal target for the CosS. Further, you do not seem the type of person to just believe something based on no credible evidence.
I do not think a Scientologist could make it 5 minutes with you.

Anyway, that is why I did not think you could really be a Scientologist. Please comment on my understanding of how they "get" people. I am assuming that is how it is done. But I do not know if that is a fact.
