Username: Kamide Character Number: 1 Name: Karyala Age:15 Gender: Female Rank: Weyrling Location: Relasun Weyr Sexual Preference: Heterosexual Partner: N/A Appearance: Karyala is taller than the average pernese female, but nonetheless still doesn`t have the height males of the same age possess. To give a number, she would stand at about six foot and one inch on top of that. Her eyes are an extremely and unusually dark shade of blue that could be considered almost black-blue. Karya`s only vanity is her long hair, although she hypocritically looks down on other females with long hair. The girl`s locks are a deep black extending all the way down her back to her waist line. Karya occasionally allows some parts of it to frame her face when she`s not engaged in some strenous task, although it`s not a very common occurence. In the back, the hair spreads of it`s own accord as it flows down, which can get annoying because it flies pretty much everywhere in the wind of the weyrbowl. Since Karyala has already been plagued by the need to prove herself, she did lots of heavy manual labor to build her strength up, so she could at least attempt at reaching a man`s level of strength for strenuous tasks. Although it`s not really visible, there is basically no trace of fat on her body because of all the vigorous physical activativy she engaged in. Karyala`s muscles definitely do not threaten to bulge out of her clothes, but her strength is mainly in the wiry and lean category. Karya has scars to spare, mostly from one accident or another, although the most significant one starts at her shoulder, runs down her arm, and flows to end just above her shin. Karya tends to at least attempt at wearing clothes one would typically see on a male, but since they have a tendency to not fit her body shape, her casual dress code consists of what she considers to be androgynous clothes. Karya `borrowed`a black leather riding jacket from her brother, although she never got around to returning it. Her pants are of a dark blue color, and made of tanned leather, so it complements both her eyes and jacket well enough. For footwear, she donned a pair of brown boots with crossing laces that disseapear under her blue pants. In light of the fact she secretly wishes to be male for the freedom that gender seems to receive, or perhaps despite of it, she is incredibly curvaceous around her waist and chest, something which immediately draws a boy`s attention if she isn`t quick to pick up on the fact she`s being stared at. Personality: Karyala is definitely her own person, therefore not inclined to take orders from authority figures. If those people have proved their merit, she will defer to them and humble herself, although not willingly. Karya is very bold and defiant, not afraid to express her opinion in a crowd or tell someone what she honestly thinks of them. She is majorly condescending of people who she considers as inferior, useless, cowards, complainers, etc. You get the point? Although she is cold to many people, Karyala will show respect to her betters, although this is usually for her own ulterior motive. She has trained herself to show no emotion when threatened or tense, although she betrays herself in these situations by unconsciously fidgeting with her hands. Even though Karyala has a cold and sarcastic personality, she is suprisingly loyal to her brother's reputation, and would willingly fight for a friend, even though she doesn't have any. When the boys forced her into the Lake of Shadows, she became absolutely terrified of water. But fear of water wasn't the only thing she received from the incident. Although it's not technically a fear, Karya learned not to trust anyone else, barring K'sal, and so when she encounters others she is usually cold, condescending, and rude. Karyala doesn't enjoy doing this, but she doesn't see any other way to deter people from befriending her. The only person she thinks she needs, and relies on, is her bronzeriding half-brother K'sal. Another trick of hers, mostly to uphold her reputation, is to taunt others so they start a fight, and she is justified in engaging in physical fighting with other people. That way, Karyala can defend herself by saying it was in self-defense, which is kind of true, although she was the one who started it. Karyala is very devious, and has intelligence to go along with it. Her skill at setting up traps for people, whether in verbal or physical tricks, is second to none. Perhaps the worst aspect of her personality is her imperious regality. Basically, she thinks of herself as better than everyone else, and her behaviour indicates such. Karyala has a reputation of looking down on people because they are what she considers inferior to her standards. Even though this is completely controversial to her personality, Karyala actually enjoys the presence of younger children, although she doesn't like to be mobbed by more than a few youngsters at a time. When Karya is with them, she drops her wall completely and acts like a normal person. It is one of the few times she actually feels truly at ease. Karyala is prone to falling prey to her emotions, and often see's threats or insults even when they aren't there. She can get defensive very easily, even though she tries to be more open-minded. Even though she knows she is definitely female, she secretly wishes to be a member of the male gender, since, as she so aptly puts it, they are granted to much more freedom than women get. Even if she doesn't know someone, she will confer respect to those she knows are attempting to change their lives for the better, aka those people who show courage. History: Karyala was born a weyrbrat, the daughter of Rilaya and K'ajekor. The former is a kitchen drudge of the weyr, and the latter a brownrider. She was conceived at what was initially a one night stand, but grew quickly into something more when the pregnancy was discovered by her sire. Her half-brother, related to her through her father, is a bronzerider by name of Kairorsal, shortening to K'sal after impressing the bronze hatchling Kayazeth. When she was ten turns old, she got dared to go through the Lake of Shadows by the other weyrbrats. However, since Karyala had been expressedly forbidden from going in there by her dam, she refused. They ended up ganging up and overpowering her, mostly because there was four of them and one of her, inevitably forcing her to go in. Unfortunately, they were some of the few who had failed to realize that the grate had been constructed so no one could go through there. She did survive in one piece, save for a long scar, but from then on developed a strong case of hydrophobia. Karyala is fine with drinking water, but cannot swim in any sized body of water now. If she gets accidently drenched with water, for whatever reason, she retreats into a corner and stays there for a while. If one adressed her when she was so afflicted, she would fail to respond. To attempt at taking her mind off the water incident, K'sal stole away to the Southern Continent to find a firelizard egg for Karyala. He spent a few days there, although no one knew where he had gone, since he didn't tell anyone before he left. When he eventually found a nest, he surveyed it for a time, trying to determine the best time to grab an egg without getting caught. Anyways, when he got back it was with a small amount of cuts, but he had been successful. The egg he delivered to Karyala before his injuries got examined and treated. When it hatched, a queen emerged and bonded to Karyala. The venture proved successful, as his sibling now had to look after a firelizard hatching on top of her own chores. ----- Dragon: Green Izaith ----- Owner:Karyala Name: Kori Age: 4 Colour: Gold Hatching Place: Relasun Weyr Appearance: Kori is a pale queen. Her hide generally leans more towards white than actual gold, but her legs and underbelly are darker than her tail, head, and body. In sunlight, her hide seems to shine and reflect the sun's rays. For size, she is a smaller queen than the typical specimen, but does her best to make herself look bigger. Personality: Kori is like what her name implies. She can be very frigid towards a firelizard who has wronged her, although she doesn't generally hold grudges against others. She is very flirty, and has pretty much no shame in her bones.
