The sky shown bright, but she could see the darkness. . The birds sang, but she could hear the quiet. There was no mist, but it weight heavy on her. Down in the levels of the city a sickness was over taking the people. And of course, her Husband was down there working to fix it. But that was part of what she loved about him. But from what she had heard about this disease, fixing it was going to be hard. Wondering the path, she came to the little bench and sat down. Here in the gardens, it seemed that everything was put aside. The servants of the palace were loath to let her to far. But they need not worry. This illness could not touch her, in health that is. She was just glad that it would not harm Estel either. Her life was tied to him. . When he passed, and the children came and grew, then it would be her time to leave the shores as well, though not as her people had. "M'lady, word has come up from the Houses, the Princess of Ithilien has fallen ill." The Queen's handmaiden rushed to the garden. Arwen's eyes filled with worry. While she did not know the woman well, they had talked and Arwen admired her spirit and what she had done for her people. Not only that but the fact that she had rode in battle and slew the fell Lord of the Nazgul. It seemed like nothing could keep the While Lady Of Ithilien down. Her brother and husband would be beside themselves. Not only that, but now Estel would be more determined to find a cure. . Arwen just hoped he did not work to hard. He was still mortal and needed his rest. "This is ill news indeed. And there is no news about a cure?" Arwen turned her glance to the woman beside her. "None yet M'lady. Though I am sure that the Lord Aragorn will find one.' Arwen just nodded as the woman departed back into the palace. Yes, she was sure he would find one. . But when? |

He had been told of her wandering to the gardens, and smiled at the thought, of coarse that would be where she was. The gardens were hers, afterall, even though the citizens of Gondor could also wander through the beautiful vines, it had been Arwen’s first and foremost and she took care of it with great dedication. A trait she shared with all her family, even Estel who had not left the Houses of Healing since the illness had first dominated the city. With soft footsteps, his thoughts wandered from such facts to look at the young, somewhat saddened young woman as she sat within the beautiful gardens that were her own. He watched her for a moment, leaning against one of the entrances into the admirable place and frowned a little, to see his sister so sad, it did not sit well on his heart. Yet, he did not know what to say, or do, they nwere doing all they could to try and keep the illness at bay, to try and save what lives they could, but they were failing, they were failing horribly and it worried him so much. He did not want Estel nor his beloved Arwen to be destroyed over this bad curse. Taking a few steps into the garden to go over by his sister, the young male sat down beside her, silent for a few moments before speaking. “Pai byr shi poraeraer, paes moraes, air madael ti sai mi o mai” [” do not be distressed, dear sister, it saddens me to see you so”] |

Sometimes she would sit here and just pretend she was in Imladris again, or Lorien for that matter, amongst the gardens of her homelands. Her brothers would be coming around anytime to tease her about something. Or perhaps they would be out with the Rangers on some hunt. None the less they always found time between such trips to find her and it was a comfort. A comfort to know that they were still around, though they should have left with the ship. It was a bit of a surprise that he had snuck up on her so. Then again she had really not been listening, more caught in her own thoughts. Her head turned and she cast a small smile to her brother. No one, save Estel, had ever been able to read her like her family could. . "He is still down there." It was not a question. She knew her husband well, even more so than the people that surrounded him at court, or were his advisors. "This is happening to his people. . . our people." It was weird to think of them as that, but it was what they were. The people of Minas Tirith, of Gondor, they were her people. "Of course they are trying to keep me as far away as possible." Arwen couldn't help but look back at the plants with a slightly larger smile. "What I wouldn't give for Atar." Atar= Father |

It was times like this that Elladan was thankful that he had not left, that he was still here, to comfort his brother, Estel and his sister when they needed it during such hard times. Admittedly, it was a large back step from when they had all been younger, where Arwen and Estel were the young charges that they protected with such fierceness, they were both grown now, and could protect themselves…so quite often, Elladan found himself lost in what to do and say. Promising that he was going to protect everyone, that he was going to fix things, didn’t work anymore. “You know Estel will not let his people fall so lightly, he will fight with them, help them defeat this disease that races through their bodies.” His voice had turned soft lie his sisters, a small determined smile slowly appearing. “…and he will win, my sister.” Reaching over to lightly take her hand within his own, he held it firmly, to keep her attention, and to share the gentle smile that always adorned his face when he thought of his father. “I also, Arwen, although I would fear his orderly ways within the Houses, strict they could have been, it would be a great comfort…to have his skills guiding us once again,” Keeping his grip on her hand light, Elladan shook his head. “You are…the light of these people, if you were to fall ill, if you were to fall at all, Gondor would be plunged into darkness. That is why Estel does not want you near, that is why we wish to protect you. Because we love you too much.” |

Arwen was thankful for her brother as she had been so many times. Both of them had stayed on the shores, for what reason Arwen did not know, though she was thankful to have some connection to the past that had depleted. And she knew the words that her brother spoke were true. Estel would win. It would take more than a disease to keep him down. And she was thankful that he did not seem to be effected by this disease, Thank Eru! "How did you get so wise?" She teased. Yes she was well aware of the fact that they were trying to protect her, and for that she was thankful that she had so many people that loved her. "I just wish that there was something I could do to help. " |

Grinning a little stupidly, happy to slip back into that little zone that he knew to be his own, Elladan shrugged. "Just pure talent, I would guess" His voice lighter than how it had been moments before, and he was so thankful for that brief bit of teasing to come from his worried relative. It gave him something to go on, reminding him that Arwen was alright, that she would still laugh and smile with him, that the illness had not taken her too, even in the slightest. That was his greatest fear you know, that his sister would stop smiling, and that the light of the Evenstar would die out in a completely different way. He had stayed, so that he may be here for his sister when Estel passed. He had heard his father's own prediction of what would happen in Arwen's future. How she would wander the world without her love after he moved on, and she did not. He did not want that to happen to her, and so he had stalled his journey across the seas, and he was waiting with her, as he would do for as long as she needed him. He was her brother, and Elladan swore every day that he wouldn't let anything break his family, not even death. Not this time. Frowning a little at her will to help, to do something, the male grinned and took her hand once more, gripping it with a excited tingle in his own fingers. "Walk through Minas Tirith. Walk among your people, through the streets, with me...and some of the others. Bring hope to your people and in turn, give strength to Estel. The belief his people have in him are his pillar of strength. We must keep that belief going." That grin had returned. "Tomorrow. Walk with me." |

They all worried about her. But she guessed that wasn't a bad thing. No, it would be a bad thing if they didn't worry. If they let her do whatever she wanted and didn't become the voice of reason every once in a while. And she couldn't help but laugh. Wise? Many things she had thought her brothers, but wise was not the first thing that came to mind. Maybe now it was though. Maybe now that the wars were over and their father was no longer here to really be the voice of reason, they were. That was deffinatly a comforting thought. Walk with him? Maybe wise was the first word that she should think of with him. When Arwen had first come here, and after the wedding, she had walked amongst the people. Mostly there were stares, and some mumbled words, but they were curious with her. . Who she was, why the King had married her and not a woman of Gondor. But those things had withered down now. She had been excepted by the people. "I believe that is a good idea." She nodded looking to her brother. "I will walk with you amongst the people to keep up their spirits." |
