The day was just breaking out over the treetops and the beautiful land of Ithilien was bathed in a warm sunlight that highlighted everything beautiful about the place. The birds were chirping loudly in the trees and the bushes rusted as small creatures raced about gathering food for themselves. Near the window a small rabbit raced by and caught the eye of a tall man, dressed in blue silk. He approached the window and opened it, looking out at the land in front of him. His hands, scarred by war, rested on the window sill.

Prince Faramir of Ithilien, Steward of Gondor looked out at the clear sunlight. It was not yet midday but it was not early morning either. The time was right for him to be up and about. He made it a personal choice not to get up too early. If he should awake then he chose to read through his reports in bed. Ithilien was a place for peace and rest not rushing about. He had made it so and there was something to reading through reports in a comfortable bed that made Faramir enjoy it all the more.

Of course often he was distracted by watching Eowyn sleep. He couldn't help it. He loved to gaze upon the beautiful White Lady of Rohan. Her golden hair outshone every treasure he had ever seen. Her pale face reminded him of the first touch of snow on Gondor from when he was a child. How he would love to go out and explore the snow with his mother until she died. Occasionally Boromir would take him and the brothers had bonded there. But now was spring and everything seemed to be beautiful. But none so beautiful in his eyes as his wife.

He moved away from the window and poured himself a goblet of water. He sat down at the beautiful table that adjoined the kitchen. On the table was the latest reports from near Harad. He flicked through them lazily watching for any signs of irregularities or alarming news. Finding none he pushed the reports aside and took a sip of water.

The sun rising in the sky was what brought the While Lady out of her slumber. A new day had dawned bright across Ithilien. A day that, like all the others, brought with it a sense of excitement at what it would show. Would there be a calm day as there had been, or would there be many things that popped up? That was the joy of waking up to a new day. You never knew what you were going to get.

It seemed that the ladies had been in here already she thought with a smile getting up and putting on the garments that had been laid out. Her husband must already be attending to something. Hopefully it wasn't bad. Since the war, Eowyn had much enjoyed the fact that the lands were somewhat calm again. True, there would always be something out there, but it wasn't like a constant onslaught.

Walking over to the window, she looked out over the land and considered how lucky she was. She had married a wonderful man, and now resided in one of the most beautiful places. Perhaps the injury from the fell Witch King had been a blessing, for it had led her to Faramir.

Leaving the bedchamber, Eowyn made her way through the halls. Her feet carried her to the room off the kitchen where she found her husband sitting. "Nothing to troubling I hope." She said walking into the room and noticing the papers which were surely reports.

"Nothing to troubling I hope."

Faramir looked up with a smile to see Eowyn enter the room. He marvelled at how quietly she seemed to walk or rather how lost in his thoughts he must have been not to notice her. Although knowing Eowyn it was probably the former. He flicked through a few more notes with a resigned sigh. "Not at all" he said with a small smile. "They are simply boring....nothing exciting today like boring and annoying...I'm quite disappointed" He chuckled slightly before closing the files and getting to his feet wandering over to her.

"And what of your plans for today?" he asked then smiled teasingly at her. "Or is it too early to ask?" He watched her and waited patiently for her reply. He was still deciding himself what he wanted to do today. He was thinking of heading to Henneth Annun with the rangers but he wasn't sure. Equally he believed he and Eowyn were due a trip to Gondor again in the next few months. It had been several weeks since Minas Tirith had seen its Steward.

From the look that she received the hope that nothing was wrong was strengthened in her. And then he actually brought that hope to words and Eowyn smiled. It was good to see her husband so free of care like this. It was almost like those days in the Houses of Healing. "It is probably just a slow day."

"Why I do believe that I was going to take off and ride about completely alone, while trying to find trouble I could get into." A smile lit up both her lips and her eyes as she joked with him. Actually she was not quite sure what she was going to do today. He had been right. . It was to early. She hadn't decided yet. "I'm sure you have your day all planned out by now."

Faramir watched a smile cross his wife's beautiful features and he once again thanked the stars that he was blessed with such a beauty although truth be told he wasn't as vain as other men were about how their wives looked. He had always wanted one he could love for who she was. He had been twice blessed with Eowyn because she was fair as well. The title White Lady of Rohan suited her well and he loved to gaze upon her beauty. He could spend hours just watching her but of course she might think him ill if he did, he thought a smile crossing his own features.

"Why I do believe that I was going to take off and ride about completely alone, while trying to find trouble I could get into."

"I wouldn't put that past you Eowyn given your track record" he smiled a little teasingly. "Of course then I would have to come out an rescue you and be your knight in shining armour. That suits me fine if that is your choice of activity for the day" he smirked back at her sipping his water.

I'm sure you have your day all planned out by now."

"Actually I don't plan on doing anything today" he said with a smile. "Of course tonight I might visit Henneth Annun but I see no real need for any affairs today since they all seem to be in order. Besides it is a beautiful day and I do not intend to waste it stuck behind a table for hours on end" he said smiling as he took one of her hands in his.

She had not known how much good would come out of being put in the Houses of Healing by the Witch King. But after meeting Faramir, and spending the time with him, she realized that perhaps there does come much good out of much evil.

"My track record. Why m'lord, I have no clue what you mean." Oh but how well she did. As did all the people in Ithilien. It was not rare to see Eowyn wondering around. . Or riding off from the stables. She did not like to be caged up all day.

"Of course then I would have to come out an rescue you and be your knight in shining armour. That suits me fine if that is your choice of activity for the day"

"Then I see that we have our day planned." She said with a laugh. "Though I do think you would look rather silly in a suit of armor. The knight part, that I do not mind." For he was her knight. He had come and saved her from loneliness.

"It seems that we both have much excitement planned in out day." Thought it was good that the affairs were in order, and there was nothing to tend to, or any urgent orders from Minas Tirith. "I think a sunset at Henneth Annun sounds wonderful though."

"My track record. Why m'lord, I have no clue what you mean."

"Oh my poor lady!" Faramir cried in mock despiar getting down on one knee and clutching her hand as if she was dying. "It seems she is losing her memory! Someone call for a Healer! Lady Eowyn is aging faster than we thought!" Luckily the servants nearby could tell he was joking. He started to laugh as he stood back up and bent down to kiss her hand. "Alas I think your track record is burned into my mind so at least one of us won't forget it" he smirked bowing his head slightly.

"Then I see that we have our day planned."

"It seems we do" he added. "Of course at what point shall I need to ride out and rescue you?" he teased his hand caressing hers with a loving touch.

"Though I do think you would look rather silly in a suit of armor. The knight part, that I do not mind."

Faramir laughed at the 'silly in a suit of armour' comment. He pretended to look hurt but after a moment flashed her a warm smile to show he was only jesting. "Well then your knight I shall be although most knights wear a token of their lady's love. What will your token be my lady?"

"I think a sunset at Henneth Annun sounds wonderful though."

"Well then we shall go together and watch it" he said with a warm smile. "I do not wish to see such a thing of beauty with anyone save my wife" he said with a smile. "Whose beauty not even the sunset can compare to"

"It seems that I have a jester for a husband." Eowyn said, though she could not hold back the laughter that his little 'scene' brought out in her. "Nay dear husband I know my track record well. Though I never hear any complaints from you. . Though I might have heard a few from the captain of the guard." Or from any of the soldiers for that matter.

"Of course at what point shall I need to ride out and rescue you?"

"If I were to tell you where would the fun be in that? And besides, I would not need rescuing."

"What will your token be my lady?"

"Why sir knight I believe that you would look rather foolish in one of my dresses" Of course she knew that was not what he meant but oh the timing was there. "A token for sir knight." She took out her kerchief as she had seen many ladies of the Mark do before their men rode off.

"I do not wish to see such a thing of beauty with anyone save my wife" he said with a smile. "Whose beauty not even the sunset can compare to"

"Such flattery, dare I to ask what you have done wrong? Or what you want." She raised an eyebrow but knew that it was neither of those things. "I can think of no prettier place that I have seen than Henneth Annun"

"It seems that I have a jester for a husband."

"And I have a Shieldmaiden for a wife. It seems Ithilien has quite a pair ruling over it" he smirked his tone soft and amusing. He turned to the window with a smile as she spoke next about her track record. "I have not heard the guard complaining but perhaps he meant in amusement. These are good men and I am sure it was all in good fun" he said. "Besides in Ithilien, these lands are meant to be explored. They aren't just here to look at"

"Why sir knight I believe that you would look rather foolish in one of my dresses"

He turned back round as she said that and he couldn't help laughing again, a light happy one that suited the mood perfectly. "Indeed I would. White is not my colour" he joked. "But perhaps blue" he added chuckling as he raised his eyes to hers.

"A token for sir knight."

He took the handkercheif with a smile and managed to attach it to his should with a smile. "That is a much better token" he added.

"Such flattery, dare I to ask what you have done wrong? Or what you want."

Faramir's eyes widened. "What makes you think I have done wrong?" he asked in amusement, the jest evident in his tone. "Although I do want something which is to spend time with the beautiful Lady Eowyn. I will not deny that"

"I can think of no prettier place that I have seen than Henneth Annun"

"I must confess Henneth Annun does have its moments"

"It seems that Ithilien is doomed." But it was anything but. Faramir had a knack for knowing how to run things, and a way with people, something that he seemed to have gotten from somewhere other than his father. . "Yes, thought I think the guard would rather I tell them when I am going exploring rather than just taking off." Eowyn said with a smirk. But if she did that, then it wouldn't be fun.

"I don't think I have anything in blue. Though if you would wear it, I would look into it." Joking and talking with her husband was just so easy, so right. Almost like the way she would have with her brother, or with Theordred. .

"Well, since that's what you want then you will have it. I will put off my escapades of running off for some other time when my husband has his boring affairs to attend to."
