For a full day she had galloped with the wind at her face and the sun on her cheeks. The splash of her hair washing back wickedly and as tightly as the snap of a whip. She'd taken to the edge of Eryn Lasgalen and cross the Andiun above the Emyn Muil. Relentless in her conviction to reach Gondor in ample time and had made it all the way to Rohan before she'd surrendered to the need to eat, water her horse and let the swarthy mount gait awhile before going any further.

From here it would be a straight bee line towards the northen parts of Gondor and a brisk curve that chartered her around the end of the White Mountains and into Minas Tirith. A thing that both excited her and terrified her in one breath and solitary beat of heart.

But it was here she tried to keep her thoughts, on the small tuft of grass she sat on and her horse grazing just a few feet away. Focusing away from the questions she would inevitably have to answer and instead on the ripe, cherry red apple that she held in her hand and the small blade that carved away pieces of its flesh and juicy meat before feeding it into her mouth.

It was a fruitless effort that simply circled back on her and had her wondering about what her daughter physically looked like now. It had been a few years since the last portrait had been sent over and undoubtedly Nihdira had blossomed into more and more of a woman. Leoynna let herself play with images in her head, images that she was sure would never actually equal to her daughters true beauty, but pleasant none the less.
