"You need only come if you wish." "Of course it is what I wish" Araniel said softly. "It's just I have been living here six years. It must sound strange but I have never left Lorien before this. But I would be honoured to go with you" she said simply looking ahead feeling a little cheerier for having someone to talk to. "You would not be intruding. In fact, you would be helping to make my travel a little better." "I would be honoured to be of service to the Queen of Gondor" Aranial said with a smile. "Especially to ride with her" "For the time that you stay we will find you somewhere, or you are welcome to stay with us." "That is very kind of you, my lady" she said bowing her head. "Then I see no reason I shall not join you" |

"I understand." True, she had traveled much between Lorien and Rivendell and called both he home, it had been hard to leave all that behind and move to Minas Tirith. A city of men was a lot different than an elven city. "It does not sound strange at all. Hard was it for me to relocate to a city I was unfamiliar with." Then again, it had helped that Estel had been there. . "I would be honoured to be of service to the Queen of Gondor" Aranial said with a smile. "Especially to ride with her" "I would expect no service, just the pleasure of your company on a return ride." Arwen said with a smile. Besides, it seemed that she had guards that were more than ready to give their service. "There is no rush. . We do not leave till dawn." |

"It does not sound strange at all. Hard was it for me to relocate to a city I was unfamiliar with." Araniel looked at the Queen with a smile. "Hannon le" she said softly looking around her at the silent woods. "Too long have these woods been silent and too long perhaps have I dwelt alone here" she added with a sadness in her voice that clearly expressed how much she missed her people. She was happy though to have some company at last and what great honour had she to have Arwen Undomiel in her company, the new Queen of Gondor. She was sure the gardens of Gondor had never been so fortunate now that they had an elven Queen. Elves had a talent for looking after the natural world. Araniel was sure that Arwen was just as loving towards it as other elves were. She herself considered herself a guardian of Lothien since the people were gone. "Araniel eneth nin" she said with a small smile. "I would expect no service, just the pleasure of your company on a return ride." "Then you shall have it, my lady" she said bowing her head in respect which she did for any elf so it wasn't necessarily another mark of respect for the Queen despite Arwen's insistence that she just call her Arwen. "I look forward to the journey" she said with a smile. "I have only ever been as far as Rohan and that was just after the battle in which Isildur triumphed over Sauron" she said with a small smile. Translation Hannon Le - Thank you Eneth nin - My name is} |

Hard would it be to live in Lorien alone. Having spent many years living amongst her mother's kin, Arwen was used to the singing and the bustling of the Golden Wood. But the silence, the fact that her grandmother was no longer here, it filled her heart with sadness. "A pleasure to meet you." Arwen said with a bow of her head. Lorien was lucky to have someone that was still around that cared greatly for the forest. "I must say that it took me some time to get used to living in a stone city amongst men." After living in Rivendell and Lorien, stone walls, and men marching in armor was a different site. |

"Of course stone does not quite compare to forest" Araniel agreed. "Although the accomplishments of men are much to be admired in this day and age especially with the return of a King to Gondor and Arnor. Long has it been since order was restored to Middle Earth. It pleases me that there are still visitors to Lorien even in this silent hour." she said. "I do not know of Imladris whether anyone visits there anymore but occasionally I go there to check on the natural beauty there. I would not want anyone tampering with it" she added. "What are the men of Gondor like?" She asked after a pause almost nervous to ask. She had always been quite curious. "I have often wondered about the hearts of those who dwelt in the West" she said quietly. |

To true was that statement. Arwen missed being able to walk freely amongst the beautiful forests of either Imladris or Lorien. The gardens in Minas Tirith though were a great comfort and Arwen tended to them. "I believe that my brothers still venture there on occasion." Though of that she was not sure. She had not seen the twins for a long while now, and it saddened her heart. "They are well. . different. A proud and stern people. But they are polite and caring as well. They have a great love for their city, their families, and wish no harm to come to either." And while she was warming up to the whole living in a city of men, her heart did still miss this. . "I can not tell you that it is easy to adjust." Arwen admitted. "But not all men are as bad as many portray them." |

"I believe that my brothers still venture there on occasion." "I believe my brother passed over the Sea with my mother and father" she said. "I often question why I do not join them but I am happy here" she said a little sadly. She was quite lonely of course in Lorien but she took great comfort in the magic that still seemed to be granted to the woods. She looked out of Caras Galadhon again towards the walls of Moria. "The darkness in the neighbouring land does nothing for my nerves" she smiled wearily. "Even in times of peace I fear orcs may come here. One of the disadvantages of living alone here" she said a little shakily. "Even worse is there are not enough of us left for anyone to notice if an elf was slain by an orc" she said. "Escpecially one who cannot fight back" "They are well. . different. A proud and stern people. But they are polite and caring as well. They have a great love for their city, their families, and wish no harm to come to either." "That is good to hear. Such values are important in a world of peace" |
