Deleted User	He stood by the wide window looking over the Icebay of Forochel, the seat of his future kingdom. The weather was turning here already, through in the rest of Arda it was summer still. Flurries drifted down from the overcast sky, and the spine-chilling cracking of the ice walls had ceased. The glaciers were growing larger now, not melting under the summer sun. It was this awareness of approaching winter that made the sight of a bird so meaningful. The geese had migrated south already, along with the few woodland birds there were this far to the north. Only one fowl would contradict its instinct and for only one reason. The lone smudge of black against the gray sky wheeled overheard, its wings outstretched to catch the wind as it glided to the place on his window. The bird did not caw, for which the Hand of Sauron was thankful. Their piercing shriek drove him mad, and he’d killed more than one of the birds in a terrible rage. “You bring me news,” he said to the crebain. The bird clacked its beak, but the sound was not what one might expect from a crow. There was a whisper on the wind, harsh and guttural, in a language few could understand. Hand of Sauron had used these birds before and was trained in their words. As he listened, his eyes glowed with a dark fire. It had been found at last, the magic jewel worn by the insolent Dunedain woman. He had been longing for it since that day and desired nothing else. To feel the magic flowing through him again would stop this excruciating pain in his heart. He would be young and vital again. And Middle-earth would fall to his demands. “Olog!” Hand of Sauron cried impatiently. It took many minutes for the leader of the Uruk-hai to make his way into the inner sanctum. “Prepare the Warg Riders. We are going to Rohan.” The jewel would be his … and so would the one who wore it.
